Thank you David for the Video!! I’m happy to report that the Autosaver88 catalytic assembly was exactly as advertised; it was well-packed, arrived on time and undamaged. It replaced the stolen catalytic converter on my 2008 Toyota Prius with over 180K miles. The most difficult task for me was to remove the two bolts connecting the exhaust so I had to spray them with WD-40 for about 2 hours, which was difficult to reach. Once the bolts were removed with lot of torque, I examined the bolts and gasket which are in good shape so I reused them instead of using the parts coming with the package. I was fortunately that above 2 inch of pipe were remaining in front of the resonator so I can just slide the new catalytic converter to the remaining pipe (with some grease) without much difficulties after removing the rubber hangars for resonator/pipe assembly. In this way I had more room to push the resonator/pipe backward to slide the cat pipe over the resonator pipe. I then installed the flange connecting the exhaust pipe without any problems. When all assembled the catalytic converter pipe just reaches the front of resonator and is mechanically stable even without installing the clamp. The enclosed 2 inch clamp is slightly larger than desired. So I purchased a heavy duty 1¾” clamp from Autozone for about $4, which allows me to secure the connection very tightly without any sound leaks. I purchased a new Denso O2 sensor (part# 2344623) and new set of Denso OEM sparks (part #3324) from RockAuto for total $83 since my existing spark plug had run about 100K miles and I want to reduce the burden on the after-market catalytic converter that is supposed to be less effective than the old OEM converter.
The car runs nicely when all done, even feels little better as the noise from heavy acceleration of this 1.5L engine seems to be less than before. I was able to achieve 52-53 miles per gallon after driving for about 400 miles (slightly better than before) in Chicago area. There are no check engine codes after I cleared the original code(s). The catalytic converter comes with 3 years/30K miles warranty and I have mailed the warranty card back to the seller.
Hopefully this will last for a while, and I will update this in few months if anything changes. I am going to install a motion detection alarm close to the catalytic converter to prevent it from happening again even the replaced catalytic converter is worth very little😃.
Update: It has been 6 months since I replaced the catalytic converter with about 10K miles driven. So far everything still works nicely without any check engine light!!
Update2: The catalytic converter had worked fine for 11 month on my car without "check engine light" on. However, after driving for about 18K miles (11 month), P0420 code started to show up with CEL on. I have reset the P0420 code (caused by TID $A9 value below the minimum value specified by manufacturer) for a dozen of times during the last 3-4 months but the frequency of P0420 code showing up increased vs time. The car seems to run fine but cannot pass the emission test.
I am wondering how to contact the seller to see how they will handle the promised 3-year or 30,000 miles limited warranty. If any buyer knows the best way to contact the seller, please let me know

As a Amazon&ebay Catalytic Converter store owner, I can tell you why all aftermarket on the internet can only keep several months. Then the P0420 code reappear.
Firstly, Quality of Aftermarket cats must cannot be absolutely as the OEM one ,Because The purpose of his existence is It’s designed to provide a choice to those who can’t afford a $1000 cat but still need a cat which can meet the minimum emissions control requirements, At least The exhaust is not so smelly. So EPA legal provisions:, aftermarket catalytic converters only need to meet the catalytic performance of 25000 miles. then it’s legal.
As a seller. If you want to build a better one, You need more precious metal added. and the converter will be much more expensive. But people who buy on the amazon only focus on the price. So Everyone can only sell cats with the minimum requirement by law.
With price competition, the quality of catalytic converter products on the entire platform is getting worse and worse.
Even later, many catalytic converters seller did not comply with the law and produced catalysts that could only be used for a few days to deceive consumers.
As a qualified Prius catalytic converter, its cost is at least $160. This is just a cost that does not include any profit, it contains about $60 of precious metals. A $20+ Pipe, a $20 shipping fee, and a 40$ commission for distributors or platforms, warehousing, 20$+ advertising, and more.
People, seeing cheap products without catalysts, set their expected price at $60, But hope to solve the problem which need $160, finally purchase a container or a Pipe which can only decrease the noise, wasting their additional installation costs $200.
In order to change this situation, we have been doing our best to introduce more expensive catalysts. We are still constantly improving our quality to enable it to be used for at least 25000 miles or more. If more people like better products, we will also launch products that can truly be used for more than 5 years. As an aftermarket catalytic converter, 5 years of use is sufficient. If you want to use it for a longer time, I recommend purchasing OEM products directly.

Thanks David... I got my 2005 Pruis Catalytic Converter stolen. I was watching a lot of videos and after watching yours I decided to buy from amazon and install it . I appreciate your informative video.. it was a great help.. At first the 2x pipes did not slip on and I thought I would have to weld or clamp the pipes together but I did what you did.. I used a file and remove the burr's and it fit perfectly.. I'm going to paint my Cat with high temperature paint... and engrave it with the last 8 digits of the cars Vin. hopefully that will discourage and future attempts to steal my Cat.
I ordered the Autosaver88 thru your link. Thanks again.

I had mine stolen at work. The manager helped to fund a replacement from amazon but wasn't willing to help get one from the dealership. I'm having issues with my check engine light coming on if I accelerate too hard on the highway during a drive cycle the check engine light will come on on the next drive cycle and stay on for maybe 5 or 10 drive cycles afterwards then go off on its own. But the second I have to accelerate hard it comes back on. I think some of these aftermarket converters aren't as densely packed as the OEM. Ive seen some for like 2k but I'm really looking for something no more than 1k.

To get to the bolts you have to drive the front wheels onto ramps and they you use a long extension with a ratchet and loosen them from the bottom of the car. Be sure to use a chock behind the wheels and jack stands.

I intend to buy a gen 2 Prius and I live in New York City. I will be parking in the street because it's way too expensive to garage a car. I therefore fully expect to run into the same situation of loosing my cat. My answer to this is to register my car in South Dakota where there are no emissions or mechanical inspections. Do you think it's possible to eliminate the cat and just run a pipe and a muffler....???? I know there is something that connects all this to the computer, can that all be bypassed...? Will I have trouble finding a mechanic to do this...???
