I have a blue with cream leather upholstery. It’s a head turner after all these years. Just had it ceramic coated. The Sheen/shine is fantastic. Rightly or wrongly. Mine never goes out in the wet or winter only in the spring and summer again only with the hard top off and the cloth top down. It is a lovely old bus to drive it as you say not for racing about but wafting through country lanes. Mine has 150k miles on it and is the DOGS. Good video
Great video, thanks for taking the time to shoot it - perhaps an interior detail video next time with engine start up, plus your experience of owning, any tips on buying - I have wanted one since my childhood but the big bills scare me!
Thanks for the comments Ian and all noted! The car was built in an era of Mercedes where nothing but the best will do and it is truly felt throughout the car. I’d opt for the 320 as re sale values are typically stronger than the 280 and check it has a good service history! You’ll be able to tell a lot from the test drive and how the engine sounds on startup/tick over. A good example shouldn’t prove costly as it was built to a high standard. They are a bit juicy though but it’s all worth it. Hope this helps!

They indicate the central locking. Flash red when locking and green when opening. Same on the drivers side door. Some have them on the boot also but my car doesn’t.

Brian Lara also bought one in the early 90s,he still has it,he also has the newer AMG SLs..
I am sure the list of celebrity owners is quite lengthy - it would have been a flagship car above many, not just Mercedes!

I cant tell for sure but it looks like you need an under hood pad? They are not expensive and easy to install. I have a 97 sl320 here in America.
