- As Kia's longest running nameplate which pioneered its segment, the Sportage undergoes its most significant change to date as the fifth generation is unveiled. Developed as part of Kia's new global brand transformation, "Movement that Inspires," the all-new 2023 Sportage subcompact SUV delivers more of everything for today's savvy, adventurous and eco-conscious consumers.
Exuding the brand's new "Opposites United" design philosophy, the new Sportage is a welcome addition in a sea of bland-looking subcompact SUVs that crowd today's market. Significantly larger, more capable and powerful, and targeted to be more fuel efficient, the fifth-generation model debuts a number of Sportage firsts including an available dual panoramic curved digital display and an exciting new variant that will literally take consumers to new heights. Most Sportage trims will now be assembled in the U.S., alongside the award-winning Telluride, Sorento, and K5 at Kia's manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia.

The Kia Sportage delivers something for everyone, with a diverse lineup and trim levels that include the LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige and X-Line, while the all-new Sportage X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige trims allow drivers to venture further into nature with off-road ready features including all-terrain tires, among other elements.
With several enticing variants to come, the 2023 Sportage will help build Kia's reputation in electrification, while also strengthening the brand's commitment to building rugged and capable SUVs. Following in the footsteps of the Sorento, the Sportage will also be available in a hybrid version. Details on that and other powertrains will be revealed at a later date, while gasoline variants are anticipated to go on sale in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2022.

Hey Angela, I had a 2021 sorrento and it saved my life. I truck hit me from behind going 50 and knocked me into oncoming traffic. I got hit from the front and back at the same time. Totaled the vehicle but my life was saved. Thank you to you and your fellow Kia builders. I live in Auburn, AL.

I bought an X line last week for 33 k. It's dope. Traded in my 2019 Sorrento for it. Best SUV I've ever owned. Black exterior with Sage Green interior.... although it looks like gray interior. Automatic back lift gate with sensors plus a full panoramic moon roof. Love it.

I've been chomping at the bit to get the 2023 x pro prestige is this what you got was the 2023 or did you get a 2022 I'm having trouble with dealers getting me the correct information I'm in the bend Oregon area and I'm just wondering if I'm going to have to go outside the area like a Portland to get a better idea of what's going on with the release date
I passed on an X-line, it wound up being 39K out the door, with a 2k markup. It's a lovely car but, 40K for a Sportage is steep, I decided to reserve a Telluride. The telluride S Is about 39 out the door as well. The Sportage does have new tech but at that price point I just went midsize.

I really like the design of KIA and Hyundai lately, the only downside just a little downside is on its piano black instument , choosing the piano black or glossy black can get scratch mark easily
And it makes the car look cheap. Almost all consumers hate piano black since dust build up a lot easier, leaves finger prints, easy to get scratch mark, and reflects light sometimes. I wonder why automakers continue to use piano black. I’m sure it doesn’t cost much to replace it with different plastic material.

I traded my 2012 kia forte with this car (X-LINE trim) and i am absolutely loving it! What a beautiful car inside and out.
this brand has come a LONG way. this has the look of a German car all over. i would consider buying one, but Kia dealers in my area are asking over MSRP for cars. i struggled to even pay 500 under MSRP for my CX-5. maybe when there's some wiggle room to negotiate cars down from MSRP, i will look to trade my CX-5 turbo for one of these.

I owned a 2017 Kia Sportage but I traded it in for a 2019 Kia Optima. I want this 2023 Sportage. October/November 2022. I’m going to trade that Optima for this Sportage. Watching this video convinced me this is my next purchase.
Have the hybrid versions started to build ?
I had a 2017 Sportage Kia and love that car despite all the problems I had with it. Problem was Kia’s failed it’s support for this year and others. It’s tied up in multiple lawsuits because of fires and other things for that year. And on up top that, the Kia itself sent me a card to put in the glovebox, a caution ⚠️ card, that’s from one it’s lawsuits stating the car was a the fire hazard car.(my car). No lie. How can CAR manufacturer tell me where I can’t park my own car!!!
Not all cars of that year according to VIN got caught in the possible litigants in the lawsuit. IT WAS A MESS!!!
The last draw was the transmission failure at 37,000 and KIA balked at fixing it. You will find ten yrs means nothing if they refuse to recognize there’s is a problem until they are sued. Bought a Mazda CX-5 that fixed all of the problems.
*Hope Kia doesn’t send owners fire hazard cards for this year’s model to put in their gloveboxes.

@Max Power Ann is correct about the card stating not to park it in a garage or near building until the recall work (minor job) was completed. I have a 2019 Sportage and received it as well.

not sure about the reliability but I really dig the design KIA is no longer the copycat of the name brands. Great job!
I've been driving kia sportage's as company cars for several years, and i've driven the 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 and on rough terains sometimes, and i can assure you that they can take a beating like champs, on the downside, they were scary at cornering and might flip in some cases as it happened with a colleague of mine, and any minor accident can show huge damage as if it was built from cardboard.
Kia literally is number one in terms of reliability on JD power.

I just can't get myself to like the headlights. Other parts of this car is fine and amazing with its curves and silhouette.

Why do passenger seats not have electronic adjustments, feels like I’m sitting on the floor in my 2021 model. Only the Turbo offered the seat adjustment feature.
Nice interior design but excessive use of piano black plastic and screens means it’s always going to look dirty.
i don't necessarily care if it looks dirty, the real problem with piano black is that it BLINDS YOU inside the car. haha
I have a 2019 optima and the steering wheel literally blinds me all the time from the sun hitting the piano black on it >:(
....okay and i don't love that it always looks dirty either but my main gripe is the ultra reflectiveness... bout to hit it with sandpaper hahah

Awesome car, I’m on my 3rd Sportage now, left only for one year to try the MG ZS 😢 big big mistake thankfully I’m back in my Sportage again, I’m just gutted it’s not this fantastic new shape.
I’ve not long committed to my latest Sportage so I’ll have to wait 4 years before I can experience this beauty, but it gives me some to strive for and look forward to.
In my opinion kIA is the way forward for so many reasons.
Kia are good but hyundai/kia maintain their ICE footprint in their PR. For EV maker sounds like tethered to history.

I don't know about this sportage but my aunt have 2021 sportage and burns a loooottttttttttt of gas no matter the brand of gas she is constantly at the gas station. About a month after she purchased it she even considered voluntary repo and taking it back. It only had 9 miles on it when she got it
