I love how they integrate real-life historical crimes into the show such as the unsolved 1947 Black Dahlia case. And I just discovered that the house is in-fact real. It's called The Rosenheim Mansion, 1120 Westchester Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90019. The current owners bought the house for $3.2m in 2015 and ended-up suing the previous owners in 2018 for not disclosing that the house had been on AHS- it gets a lot of fans/visitors. Oddly, it's on Airbnb at $1,450 a night (16 people). I'd sure stay in it :)
American Horror Story is an anthology series about real horror that's happened in America. Ryan Murphy's other Anthology series, American CRIME Story has covered OJ Simpson, Bill Clinton & Gianni Versace. His series MONSTERS has covered Jeffrey Dahmer & the Menendez Brothers. It's always about weaving in actual American history with him.
She IS the Black Dahlia here. The press named her that because she liked to wear black and frequently wore a dahlia, and there had just been a big movie called The Blue Dahlia. It had nothing to do with the color of the dahlia she wore. The show wasn't doing a "White Dahlia" twist here. Loving your reactions! Please keep doing the series after Murder House. So many great seasons ahead.
@Christian_Adonis1 The Blue Dahlia movie had nothing whatsoever to do with the Black Dahlia, except that it inspired some in the press to use a variation of it for the case.
@ -I didn’t say the movie had anything to do with her, other than the name of the movie was more accurate of a name for her as she wore a blue Dahlia , not a black or white one.
@@Christian_Adonis1 The movie, The Blue Dahlia, had nothing to do with Elizabeth Short or her murder. That was the name of noir film that came out a year before she was killed. After her murder, while being sensationalized in the press, she was given the nickname The Black Dahlia, in reference to the black clothes she often wore *and* as a callback, joking reference to the popular movie from the year before.
The girl that Blake thought looked like Rose McGowan is a semi famous actress and movie producer, named Mena Suvari. She's probably best known for her role in _American Beauty._
I always thought it was kind of rich (hypocritical) that Ben got so mad with Vivianne for essentially cheating on him. Glad you guys are enjoying the show!
Blake and Corey, Elizabeth Short was nicknamed the Black Dahlia not because of a black Dahlia flower in her hair but because newspapers at that time often used nicknames for particularly gruesome crimes. They landed on the Black Dahlia because of the sheer black clothes she wore and for the Blue Dahlia movie out at the time.
You guys have no idea how deep the lore gets, pay attention and hold on tight because your in for a ride, also Cory not all men would see MOIRA as her younger self she doesn’t reveal herself to chad and Patrick because there both gay so she knows she wouldn’t have any affect on them.
I don't believe Moira actually "reveals" her younger self to men. Their own LUST creates that image for them because of the nature of her death. The gay men don't see her that way because they aren't lusting after her. Hence, that line about, "finally beginning to see things as they are."
@@IAmJustR I meant she doesn’t reveal herself at all, like Hayden says they can only be seen if they want to be seen, but she doesn’t make herself known come to the house and offer to be the maid like she does for Vivien and Ben, she just stays hidden because she knows Chad and Patrick won’t desire here and she won’t have any influence on them.
I am so loving this series. The plot is so juicy and you can't help but to infest in the characters...you left wanting more at every ending of a episode.
The Black Dahlia was murdered and found in 1947. That was the Black Dahlia not white dahlia. You all should watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest before you start Ratched so you can have a background of why that character is iconic. The movie is iconic so either way a must watch.
There is no white dahlia. She is (was) the Black Dahlia because of her hair color. I really like what Billie Was explaining to Constance about the box.
I can’t wait for you guys to get to Season 2 - Asylum. That’s the best one in my opinion, it actually has horror elements. And Jessica Lange’s acting shines through so much more. Coven and Freakshow are also way better than Murder House in my opinion.
It’s also possible in humans. Two ova would have to be released in that monthly cycle, which normally would produce fraternal twins if both were fertilized by the same companion. In these cases, each can be fertilized by a separate donor from interactions that occur within the viability time frame
@@bellablaze8202 yes. I’d assume it’s quite rare. Either Blake or Corey brought up Chimera. There is a video called Chimera: The Twin Inside Me. You may find this interesting if you like medical curiosities-
You guys should do the real housewives of Beverly hills. ( Continue some other cities after ) It has a fan base like the horror community and there is not a reaction video for any of the series anywhere because most people watched it from the beginning. You'll get lots of views.

Jessica Lange’s acting is Oscar worthy
And has 2 to prove it!!!!
I thought she got either an Emmy or Golden Globe at least a nomination
She was nominated for this season and the next two. I think she won an Emmy for Murder House and Coven, if I’m not mistaken.

I agree! They combine American real life and fictional horrors.
They also used it in other shows like Buffy,...
I remember learning this! This show was thoughtfully made. So many details and references. Blurs the line between reality and our imaginations!
right

She in fact wore a Blue Dahlia, so that movie title was correct.

🖤Mena Suvari (from "American Beauty" & the American Pie movies) plays the Black Dahlia in this episode.
WOW!!! I did not realize that was her! I haven’t seen her since American Beauty at all. Cool!!!

Did you guys know that Tate and Moira dated IRL
your guys' recall is so insane, i could watch these back to back and not absorb half the info you do!
I am so loving this series. The plot is so juicy and you can't help but to infest in the characters...you left wanting more at every ending of a episode.
I think the bar scene was a flashback. She cant leave the house
I hope you react to future seasons. The next 2 specifically are great!
You guys have to check out the tv series "Channel Zero." Its a horror anthology series, like American Horror Story.
All this stuff with Vivian makes my stomach hurt. It just feels like she's the punching bag of this show and it's so hard to watch.
Loving the Hayden/Kate Mara appreciation!
Franchise recommendation for you to react to: CLOVERFIELD. They are very different from each other but they are all interconnected in some way.

Why is Blake so good looking ?!?! ❤
Corey is good looking too.!!!!

Hello boys hope ur healthy and happy ❤
Are you guys gonna watch scream seven when it comes out?
Yes
Oh my gosh Blake is Tate! Cory save yourself.
Was it Blake rocking back and forth in the beginning that elicited this comment?
Blake are you and Iggly dating? you give bf vibes
Blake wishes!
I often wonder that too
@@ladyofbast250
"You like that, Boookie?"
"You're so wise, Igli."
I’m here ❤
I remember when the whole Anti Christ thing in AHS was cool
Yeah only cats can do that , have multiple daddies

@darla896 well put and it's in my notes, so this is possible but rare
