If you're fresh off the boat, straight out of uni, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, solely depend on what you've learnt in uni. What I noticed is that they only teach the core basics of software development, and 2-3 languages on a very basic level. Jumping onto frameworks can be tempting, but it might teach you how to hit the solution without knowing how the solution was reached, which could be a double edge kind of situation. With that said, awesome video, if I could add anything else, probably download some code and try to break it and fix it if you're bored :p
How would you discuss salary? With my research in Pittsburgh, an entry-level job ranges from $65 - $90k. I don't have a degree in the field, but I am a union, journeyman electrician that I've been hoping to use in its place. I have three original projects, a professional LinkedIn, and a professional resume. The part I'm lacking is the salary part. Feels odd coming into this with about a year of experience self-taught and aiming for $80k, but I also wish to not take a huge pay cut from where I'm at now -- even if it means waiting a little longer. Thank you for reading!
Having practical experience at other companies will give you more negotiation power. So for now start low, quit (because they will never give you such a big raise) and then you have something to show. Not just some random project you did yourself, but actual work experience.
For me , a person who lives in South Africa, just attempting freelancing would be possible, but f getting a decent laptop to code is difficult. In all honestly applying for jobs, and attending hack -tons is something that I can't do even getting a normal job in this country is hard to obtain.
I’m a UXUI Designer who got irritated and the engineers not following the proofs. It just became a waste of time, so I’m learning front-end coding in order to knock out features for quicker iterations.
Hi, I was wondering if you have any videos that describe the difference between job roles such as software engineer vs developer, ui designer, data analyst , data scientist ? And what might be better to get into ?
Did you use AI to do the voiceover for this video? Your videos normally feel more personal. I noticed there weren’t any 1 on 1 videos of you in this video. Just curious
I love ALL you do, Aaron. Thank you so much for yet another awesome video. Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah to you and yours, whichever applies. ❤️🫶🇨🇦

The Tindr logo on the thumbnail:
Very sound advice or suggestion. Let seen sum python program into go or rust program.

does the mass unemployment in tech affect freelancing?
R.I.P your insight in coding and programing will be missed BLM
Hi do you have to be very skilled to attend a hackathon?
I mean if is a small company yes but if is a really big company it will be pointless to email the CEO lol he won't see it
Gosh, right on time. Was literally just about to go on about the ol reliable but this has got me thinking ✨tysm
Bro literally put Tinder's logo on the thumbnail for a video titled "5 Creative Ways To Get a Coding Job" 😂👏
Thx Aaron, Go Freemote!
Great advice! Even though method 1 would maybe be too offensive for some companies...but hey, why not trying? 🙂
I got a question what if I use book to learn instead of courses
Has anybody sent out personalized video emails to companies? If so how did it go?
