Khwarazmian Empire was royally screwed in that war. They fought Genghis at the height of his power and he had many able generals. It's like dealing with Alexander the Great as he's pushing through Persia or the Roman Republic in the years after they had won the Second Punic War. At these moments, these leaders and their armies were like steamrollers. As you can see in the video, Genghis Khan could count on one of the most important things to have in your army: Good leaders that could be relied on to operate independently. Like Napoleon who had many generals and marshals that needed a tight leash and more direct control over them. But only a very few of them you could rely on to operate away from Napoleon's army and do well. Subutai was masterful in this campaign displaying diplomacy to divide his enemies, a strategic mind for the big picture, and a strong tactical mind when preparing and fighting his battles. Just look at the map and the sheer amount of territory that Subutai led his army through! In this campaign Subutai fought Central Asian steppe people, Islamic armies in the Middle East, and European knights.
At this stage, Jebe, as well as others had more command authority than Subedei (Subutai). Subutai was still relatively inexpereinced compared to Jebe Noyan.

The first serious power they encountered was the Mamluk Sultan Baybars, to whom they were defeated, and he was also of Turkish origin. After this defeat, the Mongols entered a period of decline. In summary, the Mongols did not face a significant enemy, which made their progress easy. In Europe, things could have been easier. Central Europe consists of flat plains and numerous rivers, meaning there wouldn't be a shortage of food for their horses. The flat terrain would make cities vulnerable to siege. I think that European generals would avoid open-field battles and instead fight the Mongols in forests or mountainous areas.
