Fun fact: Benjamin Burnley has a Phobia of flying and it's limited BB's touring capacity. That fear is actually the inspiration behind the cover art of their album, Phobia.

This is just one of many awesome tracks from Breaking Benjamin, one of my favorite bands from the last 20 years. Other awesome songs from the same album (Phobia) include Breath, You, Evil Angel, Topless, Here We Are, Had Enough....so many great BB songs out there.

Yasss!!! This was amazing when it came out and still is!!! Great reaction!!! I just heard Aftermath by The Ghost Inside...you should definitely put that on your list!!!
Any BB song is awesome. There's artists that I love from the bottom of my heart and that I can find songs that I don't like. BB I basically love all of them, some more than the others, but I just love them and I'm a pretty recent fan! Btw, The Diary of Jane is from 2006 :) With this band Ben used to do most of the things, singing, back vocals, death growls, playing guitar, writing the songs and lyrics and some other musicians worked with him on a few songs as well, with the guys that you see on Far Away basically all of them write, 1 of the guitar players also plays piano (but with other cool machine), the other guitar player sings and is a back vocal most of the time but also sings live, the bassist is more of a back vocal but also sings and do the death growls.
Breaking Benjamin is one of very, very few bands where I can safely say that they've never made a single bad song. They remind me of bands around that time that had a medium/fast tempo, heavy riffs and memorable lyrics with bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Shinedown, Saliva etc. BB are THE quintessential post-grunge, hard rock/alt rock band. I'd just recommend their entire discography. Every song. Every album. They are THAT impressive. Also, here are other songs I recommend reactions for: - Saliva - "Always" - Staind - "Price To Pay" - Korn - "Blame" - Limp Bizkit - "The Truth" - Fozzy - "Enemy" Keep up the awesome work!
I had been listening to BB since So Cold days but Diary of Jane made the rounds in my friendship group because a snippet was featured in the cheesy dance film Step Up 2
11-12 years ago? I think that's just when the video was uplaoded. The album this song is on, came out in 2006. In fact On my 19th birthday (8/8/06). Also you said about the headband thing being Korn style from around 12 years ago? Fieldy and Jon Davis have been doing that since the 90s, but the main album where Jon was doing it was in 2002. Either way, BOTH this video, AND the Korn style things were a little more than just 11-12 years. More like 14 for this song (from the date of your upload in 2020), and 18-25ish years for the Korn thing.
I was deep into heavy metal and moving into death metal when these guys came out. But when I heard them they became a guilty pleasure of mine to be honest. He's got a great voice. And they're catchy as fuck. That was 10 years ago. I've let go of the guilt now :)
Btw here are a few reaction recommendations. First of, more Jinjer, always in high request: :) - I Speak Astronomy - Just Another (my fav.) - Perennial (Live) - Who is gonna be the one (Live) - Judgment and Punishment (You will be surprised which genre they mixed here) The next one is hit or miss. Babymetal (Not sure if you heard of them), they are quite well received on reaction channels. - Most start with "gimme chocolate" (as an introduction like Pisces for Jinjer) - Road of Resistance live in Japan (Heavy Dragonforce influence as it was co-written by Herman Li) - Rondo of Nightmare (with Mischiefs of God Intro) Another Japanese Band: "Band-Maid". In regards to Babymetal, if it is a "hit" for you then there is quite a lot to discover as well, same as with Jinjer. But keep in mind that the first recommendation isn't their strongest song.
Wow Iversithy what an amazing list!!! A few of these songs are popping up a lot so I am really excited to get into them, thank you so much for taking the time to do this for me!
Just so you know at this point he also did his own backing vocals on studio albums for the first several albums including this one, if what I’ve read on the band is right
Breaking Benjamin has a unique sound in my opinion. I can pick their songs out just by hearing the guitar. Far Away is such a damn good song. I’ve been wanting to see them live and had a chance, bought tickets, and got the dates wrong so I missed it.
"I have to put myself in the mindset of 11 years ago." Yes and no. I really think this song holds up. They also have an acoustic version, if you prefer that.
Breaking Benjamin is one of those unique rock metal bands iv'e known' i was sad when Chad ( Original Drummer ) left this band, he said to me he want to change some pace
If you like the Hard Rock that borders metal kind of genre then you need to listen to Chevelle. Amazing band that's hugely underrated. Listen to: The Red, Well Enough Alone, Vitamin R, Take Out The Gunman, Hats Off To The Bull, Face To The Floor. They don't make a bad song
Such a classic! So 'teenage angsty', it's the best :D If you watch more old school clips that are in 240p, note that UA-cam's audio compression is like 64kbps for that resolution which is hot garbage haha
If you want something new highly recommend their song Red Cold River. Off the album that came out 2 years ago and one of their heaviest. Albums actually the heaviest they’ve made
Ben Burnley is the realest songwriter out there. His lyrics are so deep and meaningful on top of the tuned down playing to compliment his voice. Most of their tunes are in drop C#
Breaking Benjamin is pretty consistent with the quality of their music. They are my personal favorite band. The outside media paints them as samey and downplays their impact in the rock arena. Bands like Icon For Hire, who are a completely different genre, cite Breaking Benjamin as an influence. If you want a more mellow alternative band sound wise, but just as heavy lyrically, check out some Blue October if you haven’t.
I've been to concerts by Seether, Staind, Three Days Grace, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down, Trapt, Papa Roach, Hoobastank, Godsmack, Buck Cherry and most other bands of that time, but I became a massive Breaking Benjamin fan after seeing them in concert... in my opinion they were better live than most of those... his live singing was as good as their recordings...
The guitarist/singer/screamer is Ben, and he's also the primary song writer and lyricist. Talented guy. Diary of Jane and I Will Not Bow of course are the iconic BB songs, but do yourself a favor and go for some deeper cuts like Evil Angel, Sooner or Later, Breath, and Unknown Soldier. One of the draws of Breaking Benjamin, at least for me, is the versatility and variability. Burnley can go from the rougher "screamer" style ( Polyamorous, Feed the Wolf ) to more "mainstream" hard rock ( Diary of Jane, I Will Not Bow ), to softer more introspective songs ( Far Away, Rain, Ashes of Eden ).
React to shadow of intent - The Heretic prevails. The lyrics / album is written based on the Halo game. The new album Melancholy is not - Malediction also a great song to react to. They are a melodic deathcore band. Just warning, listening to the songs may have side effects like addictive headbanging
i really like every album and single they've put out until now . Ben was one of my Fav. clean singers also Chris Motionless . their cleans kinda sound alike though.
MORE BREAKING BENJAMIN PLEASE! : Breath Blow me away So Cold Polyamorous Natural life Breakdown Home Sooner or later Dance with the devil (I could go on and on lol)
Didn't make australia shocks me was in new zealand. Its bigger now than it was then. This is 2006 Korn, disturbed were around. System of a down last single.
Down or Close Your Eyes should be next. Both are from their latest album "Eden," and both have a similar feel to them that pretty well show their progression through the different sounds they've had over the years. Both are solid choices.
BB is my all time favorite band. About 90% of their songs are just so good and have age very well. From their newer album try out -Red cold river -Failure
Like Benjamins good friend Adam Gontier (TDG) would say: IT'S NOT TOO LATE, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE To start listening Alternative rock bands who were popular over 10 years ago. 🤘😄 First BB song I heard is from Halo 2 (Blow me away) in 2009 or 2010.
Listen: Believe Blow me away Hopeless Crawl Dear agony Give me a sign What lies beneath So cold Failure Angels fall Close to heaven Breath Bury me alive Dance with the devil Evil angel Had enough Fade away I will not bow Into the nothing Lights out Simple design Until the end Without you Unknown soldier
Bit late to this video (which is great by the way) but the verses remind me so much of a song called The Way You Like It by Adema. 2 boss songs though!
Breaking Benjamin went on hiatus after their 2009 album and broke up in 2013-2014. The lead singer ended up reforming the band with completely different musicians. Their newer stuff is okay, but not nearly as good as the original band (in my opinion).
Although the new acoustic album is pretty good I definitely wouldn’t suggest that as an intro to BB! Diary of Jane, So Cold, I Will Not Bow are all good places to start.
If you're truly interested in delving into their newer stuff which, imo is a heavier feel, go to their album Ember. That entire album is just superb. Dark before Dawn is great, but it has growing pains with it being their first album with their new line up. In Ember you can hear all of the bands expertise meshing and coming through, where D'b'D was Benjamin Burnley's material and the rest of the new band mates filled in.
I respect your opinion but I totally disagree with you I think that their first 2 albums were much heavier than the newest 2. Don’t get me wrong I love every single breaking Benjamin song except for rain and ladybug but the first 2 albums are just amazing! (First 2 albums are saturate and we are not alone) one of my favorite bb songs is called “home” off saturate not many people who aren’t big bb fans have listened to saturate because it actually came out before we are not alone, which was their break out album with their first huge “so cold”
Since when this song was released when I was little I want to recommend u another songs from that "era" from Three Days Grace-Animal I Have Become (if u haven't heard it already ahaha). Oh and by the way just subbed :)
Fun fact: Benjamin Burnley has a Phobia of flying and it's limited BB's touring capacity. That fear is actually the inspiration behind the cover art of their album, Phobia.

Just warning, listening to the songs may have side effects like addictive headbanging
some other really good songs to listen to are, cold, follow me, blow me away, i will not bow, dance with the devil, evil angel
More breaking Benjamin reactions !!
For sure!
Breath acoustic and so cold acoustic and so cold you should listen to
I need to get back to some breaking Benjamin!!
i really like every album and single they've put out until now . Ben was one of my Fav. clean singers also Chris Motionless . their cleans kinda sound alike though.
MORE BREAKING BENJAMIN PLEASE! :
Breath
Blow me away
So Cold
Polyamorous
Natural life
Breakdown
Home
Sooner or later
Dance with the devil
(I could go on and on lol)
Didn't make australia shocks me was in new zealand. Its bigger now than it was then. This is 2006 Korn, disturbed were around. System of a down last single.
Korn and SOAD were huge here
I wasn’t a big fan of the new album at first either, but a couple songs are kinda cool
Down or Close Your Eyes should be next. Both are from their latest album "Eden," and both have a similar feel to them that pretty well show their progression through the different sounds they've had over the years. Both are solid choices.
BB is my all time favorite band.
About 90% of their songs are just so good and have age very well.
From their newer album try out
-Red cold river
-Failure
Hiw you missed them is a mystery. Crazy
Yeah I still have no idea
Some of my favorite BB songs are You, Believe, Give me a Sign, and Dark of You. Polyamorous if I'm in a mood.
Like Benjamins good friend Adam Gontier (TDG) would say: IT'S NOT TOO LATE, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE
To start listening Alternative rock bands who were popular over 10 years ago. 🤘😄
First BB song I heard is from Halo 2 (Blow me away) in 2009 or 2010.
Listen:
Believe
Blow me away
Hopeless
Crawl
Dear agony
Give me a sign
What lies beneath
So cold
Failure
Angels fall
Close to heaven
Breath
Bury me alive
Dance with the devil
Evil angel
Had enough
Fade away
I will not bow
Into the nothing
Lights out
Simple design
Until the end
Without you
Unknown soldier
Definitely react Breaking Benjamin -Until the End
Bit late to this video (which is great by the way) but the verses remind me so much of a song called The Way You Like It by Adema. 2 boss songs though!
Oh sweet! Haven’t heard it!
if you're into heavier stuff, but still want that technical spice: Demential - Apathy EP
Breaking Benjamin went on hiatus after their 2009 album and broke up in 2013-2014. The lead singer ended up reforming the band with completely different musicians. Their newer stuff is okay, but not nearly as good as the original band (in my opinion).
Not as heavy, but still very quality work. They're still pretty amazing live.
Psycho is bad ass though. Their second newest album is really good.
Although the new acoustic album is pretty good I definitely wouldn’t suggest that as an intro to BB! Diary of Jane, So Cold, I Will Not Bow are all good places to start.
Defeated is a great song and very underated
He doesnt realize this song is more like 20 years old 😂
What an idiot
Since when this song was released when I was little I want to recommend u another songs from that "era" from Three Days Grace-Animal I Have Become (if u haven't heard it already ahaha). Oh and by the way just subbed :)
