We're back at Ian's place with Mik to see how he attempts to save money by culturing his own phytoplankton and tisbe pods! After much trial and error and help from experienced reefers, here we are. Ian talks about why he does it and thinks its beneficial for the home reef aquaria to have these things handy.

I wouldn’t mind a culturing tutorial. I have tiny tanks and dose live phyto and pods, so just buying them is cost effective, but I’d be interested in the details 🧐✊🏻😊

I swap between f2 fertilizer from Nearth or f2 from amazon

How do you know if the phytoplankton is alive or crashed?

they will start to condense at the bottom of the jar and they will smell real bad!
