Glad I'm not the only one. I used to think David was the worst color commentator in wrestling history. But he is weaved as much into the fabric of pro wrestling history as the greats such as Lance Russell and Gordon Solie, and he has absolutely grown to be one of my favorites.
Gerald's superb at shutting down a discussion going into a particular angle that shines a negative light upon Vince or someone associated with Vince. He redirects that stuff ASAP!
I grew up watching David host wrestling on TBS, and really loved his announcing. He wasn't exactly professional like Jim Ross or Tony Schiavone, but his excitement would get the audience at home going. When David seemed to lose it while announcing, that was exciting and interesting tv!
I enjoyed David as an announcer, I've never understood the hate he gets. Go back and listen to him when the Mulkeys win. Nobody could have made that a moment any better than David did.
@@CuteLesbo69 He wasn’t as polished as some. His enthusiasm and excitement about some surprise was very real, unrehearsed or however it might be interpreted. I liked his style for the most part. He was a trooper for taking the Russian Sickle.
When I think of the original NWA,I think of “the Four Horsemen “,Sting,Nikita Koloff,Rick Steiner,”The Midnight Express “,Magnum TA,Missy Hyatt,Jim Cornette and “The Rock’N Roll Express………..
The Crockett's contributions to Pro Wrestling are immeasurable. There pretty much would never have been a WCW. JCP during the mid 80s may have been better than WWF especially according to those who grew up watching that show. Still way better than both WWE and AEW in recent years.
Thanks guys! Grew up in the late 70s and 80s and was exposed to many wrestling promotions. Living in north west Alabama. Longtime fan!! Love the content!!
Used to be annoyed by Crocket as a kid in the 80s but now I really appreciate his enthusiastic style and see that era fondly.

I watched him from when he wrestled and all through from when he began calling the matches.
Thank you Crockett Family for the memories of the best wrestling on the planet......

“Whip him! Whip him like a dog!” David’s seemingly spontaneous words were contagious.

The Magnum TA stories are interesting……
I've lived in Bristol, TN/VA my whole life and had no clue the Crockett's had roots here. Are they kin to THE David Crockett?

Jim Crockett was original organizer of the NWA……

I thought Jimmy in his old age looked exactly like his dad, David looks more like him than Jimmy.

Did he talk about Bob caudle?
"Whip him like a dog"
Rumor has it , T.A. was drunk and high on cocaine the night of the crash??
Brisco talks to much, won't allow guest to finish their story.
I really do enjoy these, but Brisco has an annoying habit of interrupting.
