After selling a piece of property in July (fingers crossed) I'll join your Patreon site. You did a lot to help with my confidence to pass the RVIA/RVTI Tech 1 course this past May.... Thanks Darren and family!!!
Does anyone know if the level of protection for the inline surge protectors like "CAMCO Circuit Analyzer Wiring Surge Protector 55311 RV Trailer 30 Amp" sold on Fleabay is adequate protection at all for situations like those discussed here on this Q&A? This is something I actually already bought. I assume it would detect the massive over current situation before you plugged in, then it's on you not to try to use the supply... but how is actual surge protection designated and defined? Is this thing worth the weight to carry?
Question: Dometic AC 13.4KBTU Died while camping(FL HOT). Found that the Common wire on the compressor burned up - probly the overload as well(all the disconnects were a bit corroded(this is a 2016 rv). Going to put new F terminals and overload protector BUT the compressor post for the common is just a post - the male disconnect blade burned off. I wish there was a barrel connector i can use to slide onto that common compressor post. Started looking at these "QuikLug" fittings. What would you do in this situation? New AC? or would you attempt that repair with one of these "Terminal fixers"?
Thanks Darren... I appreciate all of your videos.. I try to learn all I can about this subject. .since I live in one and I have to be frugal and very cautious about money expenditures...thank you !! I appreciate you!! 😊😊😊😊❤
Do you have a video that shows how to check the park power pedestal with a voltmeter to know before you plug in that it's wired right, the ground/neutral is correct and the voltage is ok? I have a progressive 50 amp ems for our coach but it would be good to know how to do and would really help those that don't have one.
Maybe a video on how to verify the campground power pedestal is in good working order??? before plugging in with an energy management system, EMS, or shore cord direct... Your thoughts?
Great information. As well as high voltage, I also monitor for low voltage at the park. I have seen one park where it went down to 90 vac at the pedestal. I have an analog voltmeter plugged into an ac outlet near the sink in the kitchen area.
Aquahot 600D. When I turn it on, nothing happens. Lights on the control panel looks good, burner light is green..... but nothing g happens. No fan, no burner.... just nothing. Where do I start? Checked fuse Inline with burner, checked the switch on the door panel...😳
These "10 Minute Q&A Sessions" are a terrific idea, Darren. I'm hooked.
Thank you.

If there's lightning, I'd unplug from shore power. Of course it's probably too late by the time you will realize that...

Great video. FYI, did you know that the moulding on the ceiling behind you is letting go?
Yes, we know and it is on my honey to do list. ;) Thank you.

Great haircut! I like them French fried potaters.
Can a plug in 50amp EMS be used with a 30amp setup or do I need to carry both in the RV.
Thank you
