@@joshuatunis6732 how so? cause they're all wearing helmets, and most have gloves, jackets, riding boots? contrary to popular belief, you don't need to go out in full leathers, every time you go out. I used to ride with some older guys in their 30s, and they would go absolutely nuts with no helmet on. in much twistier terrain then the road in this video for example. and fast, like 150+, no helmet. one of the guys would say "well, at the speeds we go, and how fast we ride, chances are a helmet ain't gonna save us" and in most circumstances I would agree with them.
@@Sffker well squid used to refer to your skin being ripped off and hanging resembling tentacles. Hence the name squid. Now it’s just thrown out there to bash riders for not being in full gear or riding recklessly. Both can apply here. Either way it doesn’t matter to most. Go out and ride. Road rash or not we as riders make the choice.
@@JRodSMX I know this is old, but I was always told the term came from when the ambulance crews come to riders who smacked their headed against the pavement leaving brain matter that looked like squid on the pavement, would be interesting to know for sure tho
@@ndperson1 could be both, could be for many reasons. Seems the common theme all refers to something bad happening after a wreck due to not wearing gear. Id believe any of the above to be honest.

That was some good video.I'm buying a MT07 on my birthday in November.We have some great Mountain roads like the Angeles crest Highway.Also we have some great canyon roads to the beach.And than you get to the beach and you ride on Pacific Coast Highway 1.Watch the ocean while you ride.Stop off at Neptunes.It's a cafe on PCH that you can get a drink and something to eat.Sundays at Neptunes the Bikers come out on Harleys and there are bike clubs.They are cool as long as you are cool.Sport bikes and Harleys.You can go on Mulholland Drive to the rock store.And the Harleys park under the tree.Sport bikes and everything else park near the cafe thats there.If you have a Ducati or Indian motorcycle.You get a free pass to park near the Harleys.Than theres the snake on Mulholland Drive.You go past the rock star and ride up the Hill to a lookout.That's where sport bikes rip down the road and turn around to go back down the road.California Highway Patrol usually comes by,but the bikes are too fast to get caught.And everyone turns dumb when the CHP asks questions.THe CHP uses cruisers. Before they would use Police bikes like the Kawasaki 1000.But there was some accidents by the CHP on Mulholland drive.The CHP has big BMW's that are fast and very quiet.When your on top of the hill where the look out is a lot of people pull wheelies.I've seen the CHP cruisers hang around and stop bikes.Have you seen the SUV's that the LAPD use and CHP use also.Sometimes the L.A. county Sheriffs Dept. come out and hang around the roads to the beach.So they can catch you for speeding,exhibition of speed,racing.And God forbid reckless driving.They might impound your bike for reckless driving.Me and my best friend we're riding fast on Kanan road that goes to the beach.A dude on a yamaha FJ1200 passed me and was really close.I went tearing after him on my bike.Than I got this feeling to slow down.And my friend went speeding by me with a Sheriff's cruiser on his tail.Went right by me.He stopped for the Sheriff's deputy`.And the deputy opened his door to see if I was going to stop with his hand on his firearm.I could have gotten away.But I couldn't leave my best friend.So I pulled over.The Sheriff Deputy was so pissed off.He said he'd been following us for miles.And accused us of racing.I told him we weren't racing and he said Bull shit.He explained that he could cite us for Exhibition of speed,speeding and racing,and asked us which one you want.I said exhibition of speed and told my friend to do the same.He said"if you want to kill yourselves fucking do it somewhere else'Than he walked away and got into his cruiser.And pulled out and left us looking stupid at each other.No tickets and no nothing.Just let us go.My friend and I rode the speed limit all the way home.And we didn't tell his wife about what happened.I've known my friend for 35 years.He calls me Wing Man.You never leave your Wing Man.Turn and burn.\m/\m/ I should get a go pro and do videos.I can talk a lot!

Amazing video! Love my Mt-07! We dont have any roads near me where i can ride like that on long island. Those driveway entrances make me cringe every time you pass by one. You guys should go twice a year and take a ride through there in your car or truck and sweep everybodies driveway back to the edge that have all that loose dirt and sand. lol
Blucifer ya we have to be really careful on these roads. They get street swept every couple months and I know where the problem spots are.

Great choice. I have a Mt 09 and love it. Sold my r1 for it.
Good choice, i got my 2020 one about 6 weeks ago or so. Not sure where you're from, but they generally hold their value very well here in norway. So the price of a new one was only about 500$ more than ones that were 2-3 year old. Just something to keep in mind incase you can get a new one for almost thee same price. :)
@@jackal2607 it is 500$ less on the price tag but on a new bike you have taxes, preparation and the 1000 km maintenance. If you shop right the used one will have after market exhaust, clutch-break leaver, frame sliders, ect. You can easily save 3-4k$ on well maintened, 3k miles bike.
Tim Clark good point that’s kinda why I’m debating on just buying new since hey are such a good price or going for one with everything I want already on it.
Tim Clark that is true. But for me it is my first bike and its a good one for beginners. And money wasn’t too much of an option so i didnt mind getting new and just adding to it what parts i want, mainly just crash protecteion and an exhaust, overall I’d say I’ve spend about 1500 more than a used one and its all new. However this is norway so the value is a lot different :)

I traded in my R6 for an FZ8 the predecessor to the MT line. I got rid of it the year before the MT09 came out and my buddy traded in his ninja 400 for it. I was so jealous. Now i have the 2020 MT-09 and he doesn't have his anymore. Seems like i can't get a FZ crew going.

I just picked up a 2021 mt07 and I'm really thinking about putting a exhaust on it probably an akrapovic. Did any of you need tune the ecu? It sounded like everyone had an upgraded exhaust 👌
Akro is a good pipe. I personally have the yoshimura and it’s my favorite looking and sounding. Yes you definitely need a tune with an exhaust.

I did the opposite traded my 19 mt07 in and bought a 2020 mt09. You traded the 09 for the 07. Haha I can say one thing tho I got about 10 mpg better on the 07 when I was being decent on the throttle I'm getting 38.5 mpg on the 09 and was getting 47 or 48 on the 07 and that was just driving like I wanted hah wheelie here and there but that's the trade off for the performance difference, I can def tell it has 35 or 40 more hp and more torque just a tad heavier but I'm tall so it's more comfortable as well so one negative to ten positives I can live with 🤙🏍💯
also its more expensive.
@@ivanoxx only about 1500$ difference new for new at my local dealer. now yes I lost more than that lol but granted if I would have got the correct bike the first time I woulda spent about 10 thousand compared to about 8 something after tax and dealer bs but we live and learn as long as were on two wheels and happy thats all that matters🤷♂️🤙🏍💯

If you have experience 09
You can easily see how the bar tends to wobble at high speed, that is quite risky and basically the main reason I didnt get that bike.
I mean if its really that concerning you can always throw on clip-ons, better seat, tank grips, and higher foot pegs and youll have a totally different bike
Not sure what you guys burn but my intaked and akropovic’d ‘15 FZ-07 regularly gets 60mpg and my Concours 14 gets 46mpg all day long. 🤷🏻♂️
TG not even a stock FZ07 will get 60mpg man. I’ve never gotten better than around 47mpg even babying it sround

Just have to try it out mate, just extra weight basically and make sure passenger is leaning with you, no tips for specific bikes it’s all same
I have and it's a little uncomfortable, but I'm also a big guy 6'4, but my wife is only 5 ft tall we did a 40-minute ride to the beach and back.

Please check your gears and wipe your action cam before recording
Practice this building up your speed over a longer amount of time for example instead 0 to 60 in 5 seconds make it a gradual and slower acceleration it’s good for your bike it resets the mid range torque of your machine

Love your vids bro but that flag kills me. I know it doesnt really mean a lot in the civilian side but in the military we were taught that having the stripes pointing forward is how you signal retreat.
I actually recently learned that and that is not the intention at all. If you look at it from either side of the bike, the stripes are facing you showing exactly what you are saying. Thank you for your service my friend

Charlie-Tango Motors I went from an MT-07 to an XSR900 two weeks ago today and can’t recommend the bike enough, as long as you’ve got some riding experience haha
I'm fearing for your safety. You need to stay in your own lane, I hope you can learn to, it's hard to watch. When you can learn to ride fast, these things will come instinctively. Best of luck
