Hello Richard & Julia You both did so well making these videos. Especially with such a small baby. You made a good team. I have never been on a canal boat but seen them on TV. tfs
I built my own boat and I set it afloat! I went through locks and tunnels! Where I lost all the funnels! I didn’t get it right! I forgot about the height! Julia has become a Tiller Girl, only those over 60 will understand that one!!
I thought those ducks looked rather aggressive!!!😂 I agree Julia - the entrances to the tunnel was beautiful! Loved Bath (I know you've made vids of walking around it before, but I was still rather hoping to see y'all exploring more of the city😕)! It was interesting listening to you guys talking at the end, but I gotta admit I was a bit distracted by Joseph's tongue in search of his pacifier!😛😜😝👶🏻🤣🤣🤣 So cute!
@@RichardVobes yeah kinda shocked at how many tourist were still around now that the school year has started?!?! At least thats how things usually go here🤔
That’s the second time this week I have seen those tunnels this week. The first was a couple who have given up land living. Channel Floating our Boat). Also I noticed that you are coming under Julia’s influence and your cloths are going purple. Great video.
Wow! The shot of Richard and Joseph as you came through the tunnel was idyllic. Well done for getting all the way through to Bath and for taking a quick stroll too. Julia's narrow boating tips were brilliant. You must try to have a good turn at the tiller on the way back. You have an excellent teacher on-board! Full speed ahead now through just outside the marina.
We love Bath and have stayed there in a hotel, but I must admit being on a canal boat does look more fun. A guided tour around the ancient baths is well worth the pennies. When we last went you could put your fingers in to the warm, spring, water, which considering the Romans did exactly the same many years ago is quite amazing! 👍
Good to see a dry day. I’ve only been through bath on the train really - would love to spend some time there. Bow thrusters are amazing - makes life a lot easier to moor!
Ive already thought i would love to do this but a little bit nervous thinking i would be useless piloting the narrowboat and nobody to teach me. Looks such a lovely thing to do on the water and visiting places for a week or even two. Thank you Richard and Julia for a series of super videos 🌻
I've been noticing this! Thought if Julia needed a Halloween costume for Joseph, just find some khaki short pant, button up shirt & put A pair of glasses on him! Wallah!!! A mini-me of the Balad Explorer!🤓 lol
Remember the phrase 'bald as a coot'. A coot has a white forehead extending almost to the top of its head (hence the description 'bald'), while a moorhen has a red forehead not going as far up. NB this applies to the UK/European coot and moorhen. I believe America has different birds with the same name (as with some other birds, such as the robin.
The hire boats tend to have large holding tanks for that waste which the hire companies deal with upon return. Private boats usually have toilets that take smaller waste tanks called cartridges which can be emptied at various points on the canals.
very impressive captain julia!
Indeed she was.

I am not quiet 60 and I understood the reference.
You are both becoming pros at this canal thing and you are looking less stressed. :)
We want another week t really appreciate it!

Sadly lack of time prevented up from spending too long in Bath and it was so busy with tourists. Will return another time.
Plus we were moored in an awkward place so were anxious to move

Beautiful canal 👍🏻
Never been to Bath, looks fun to wander around. :D
Busy with tourist but very pleasant.

Yes they are color coordinated! And it looks like Richard shaved! Lol great video.
Julia has a big influence on me. :)
I do try to keep shaven. ;)
@@RichardVobes I am sure you influence each other. ☺
BTW you guys notice the almost full moon?

Oh I will - my turn to drive!
I love you guys. I was wondering where Julia got her skills at the helm!!! Your post was very nice. Editing is beautiful! Bath!!! Wow!!
Feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I blame you Richard, just before the weekend as well. Last time i watch one of your videos. Uf! 😋
All my fault!
Great series Richard and Julia , I ve been to Bath several times never knew there was so many fit people , all exercising down on the canal there 👍

We didn't stay very long in Bath unfortunately - so will have to return another time in more detail.
You have done good, It was nice to see a tunnel, I'm very pleased you went through one! The week went quick indeed. Well done great video.

Will have to go back to Bath.

I see double...2 bald explorers..one big and one small....
Indeed - start them young!

Looks lovely. Londoney.Marq English just uploaded me a video. His fourth time in Florida.
They let us moor in the marina on our final night so we could use the facilities and restaurant etc
Nice!!
There is a good brewer in Devizes and you would need a pint after going up or down those locks nearby.
Yes I bet you do!

Yes our Robins are def different! Not sure about the others as I don't know if we have them in OR. Lots & lots of Mallards though!
enjoyable escapeism,I think she said your a bad captain,at the tiller, did you run aground? early autume is setting in,
I am probably awful. Yes autumn is coming!
Who said he's a bad captain? He just doesn't have a lot of confidence when it comes to taking the tiller but we'll work on that perhaps in future 😊
Was it easy to find moorings? Some people say there isn't anywhere to moor because of all the liveaboard boats moored up?
Hi there glad you are having a good time, just one question do you have to empty a toilet tank or does it end up in the canal !
We don't have have to deal with it.
