    Also!!! Please note that I also use Actors Access but without an LA agent most of the calls I see are for indie work or very small roles so I submit there but rarely. Actors Access rarely has anything for SF. I don't have enough experience with AZ yet to know if Actors Access is used there much.

    I started doing VO about a year ago, I've done narration on several indy films, also got a call back for an Advil commercial, which was cool. I like your content pretty Informative

      Congratulations! Sounds like it's going well! Voiceover is very competitive so the fact that you've done work and are getting callbacks is amazing!
      Thanks so much ☺️ for the complement.

    Sorry for the previous comment, that was the Bang talking.🤦🏼‍♂️ Question: With all the different small time acting jobs you’re getting (according to your Audition Tracker), then around how much money are you earning a year JUST from your acting jobs? What I mean by “small time” acting jobs, are acting jobs that aren’t big time expensive mainstream productions featuring famous celebrities.

      😂 that's funny!
      Not a lot. Most of the direct booking paid nothing or under $500. 🙃

    Great year. I'm forcing myself back into classes and auditioning again after moving from Chicago to Boston in August. I haven't auditioned or done anything acting related in this new market from September until December and I'm honestly kind of disheartened by what feels like a full reset. I got a new full time job that's been really time consuming as well, but now that I'm in a routine with it I want to get back into acting and be re-energized the way you were earlier this year. Very inspiring, thank you for sharing

      Yeah, I'd imagine a place like Boston must have a fun filming scene. You should try to go to filmmaker mixers and do at least 1 Self-tape practice a week! The getting back in class is always a great idea. Keep me updated and let me know how it goes!

    Loved this video and your tracker. I made one with the help of your previous video. I might check out this new one! Would you consider doing a video on the "in perpetuity" agreement and how to navigate them?

      Yeah, I am happy to do one! I have talked about it in the past and how I am trying my best to not do any work in perpetuity. I will add it to my list! 😊 Thanks!

    I'm a new actor in Chicago. I got my agent 11 months ago. I took my first ever acting class in 2022. I never acted before that. So I'm glad and grateful for where I'm at. But I've only booked two things. One crime, based on real life, docuseries on A&A and one commercial I filmed in May that hasn't even aired yet 😏. I've auditioned for like 20 commercials and like 6 national TV shows such as Chicago PD, Fire, Med etc. I can't even create an audition tracker because I can summarize it in one sentence. I rarely book! Lol. But I'm constantly always taking class after class after class to improve my skills and craft etc. I am also always watching UA-cam videos such as all of yours. Do you have any advice for someone like me who is new, currently stuck, and not currently booking much? Sorry I know my comment was very long. I'm a talker lol. Thank you Belgica!! Love your work and advice and insight into the industry!! 🙂

      Hi Oscar! Thanks so much 🥰
      Yes, I think you should try to do more indie work! This will get you more bookings and experience. Are you also self-submitting? I think since you are working hard at the training side, you should also be getting a lot of Self-tape requests. Congratulations on already having an agent! That's amazing! You should also contact them and ask how you can improve your headshots/reel/online resume to help get you more auditions! 😊

      @@BelgicaPaolathank you for your prompt and detailed response! My agent only submits me for paid tv film commercials or print jobs. I've self submitted thru FB and backstage for independent films short films etc. But there aren't many of these here in Chicago. I've done 2 short films non paid. Both fun experiences. But that's about it so far. I sometimes self submit on actors access for stuff in LA or Atlanta. But just haven't received any self tape audition invitations yet. I have a resume and head shots. But my videos are self tape reels essentially. A one min drama reel (self tapes) and commercial audition reel. It's all I can offer at the moment lol.

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  7 місяців тому +1

      Oh, okay, then it sounds like you are on the right path! What about the quality of your Self-tape auditions? Do you use a reader and have a good setup where you can see and hear you clearly? 🤔 Just trying to see all possible ways to improve lol but like I said, sounds like you are doing great and just need to keep doing what you're doing! 🎉🥰

    • @oscarC3905
      @oscarC3905 7 місяців тому +1

      @@BelgicaPaola Thank you. I'd say the quality is ok. I don't have a set up like yours. I have a backdrop, ring light (which I ordered a year ago thru one of your videos actually! The Casting Workbook one!) And my smart phone. I feel it's good enough because what truly matters the most is the quality of the "acting" or performance. That part isn't as good as I'd like it to be YET lol. I like my classes. I've taken classes at the best schools in Chicago. Acting Studio Chicago, Green Room, and Second City for improv! With the exception of Second City, the acting classes are good but not good enough. Let me explain. Quality teachers and great classroom environment. But I HATE that each student only gets like 10-15 min of in front of the classroom time! So for example, I'm taking a class called Advanced On Camera at ASC. There's 10 of us. So when it's my turn to go up in front of the camera, I only get 2 takes. And very quick instruction/directions. Maybe 2-3 points to work on or adjust etc etc (1 min). Total time up there? 10 min 15 tops. It simply isn't enough time to work on getting "better" at this craft and skill and talent!! I never acted in my life prior to 2022 lol. So this week I began one on one coaching for $50 an hr. The first session was good. But we mostly did script breakdown and analysis. Which was good. Next week I'm sure we'll do more things. I'm determined and committed to getting better and becoming a working actor! I'm not lazy I really care about this believe me! Thank you :)

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  7 місяців тому +1

      @oscarC3905 yes, for sure 😊 as long as you can be heard and seen well, that's what matters as far as the setup. I see what you mean about the classes, but there is also souch to learn from watching others! Make sure you don't take that for granted. I often see actors stop paying attention when others are going but there is so much there! It really sounds like you are putting in all the work 😊

    Congrats on booking roughly 1/3 of the roles you auditioned for!
    That being said, actors being asked to pay for their own special effects makeup in order to be in a short film sounds like a major NO for me dawg. I would run away in the other direction if someone offered me that.

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  7 місяців тому

      Thanks so much! 🥰
      I completely agree with that unless you know the artist. To give you a littler perspective, this is an indie filmmaker that I have known for around 6 years and I volunteered to pay after hearing about it, he did not ask me directly. I also donate $10 every month to his non-profit BraveMaker Org. In 2023, I made a video of his acting class and film festival. I am a HUGE fan of his. Long story short, I am 100% happy with my decision and any decision like this should be made very carefully. 😊 Super suggest looking into the BraveMaker Film Festival if you are in CA. It was one of the best networking I have ever done. The energy was so positive and chill.
