    One observation from the game. Caitlin pushed the pace for the entire game and I think Team USA wasn’t prepared for it and they were gassed. Notice how poorly Team USA shot the ball from the perimeter late in the game. Their legs were dead and it’s hard to shoot with tired legs. It’s an effectiveness which doesn’t show up in the stats but it’s what a good point guard does. Kudos to Cheryl Miller because she coached CC to push pace.

    • @1flash3571
      @1flash3571 Місяць тому +5

      It also tired out CC too. She didn't shoot well, probably due to tired legs. She was guarded like a potential thief in a jewelry store by Plum and others. They even blitzed her several times too.

      @@1flash3571 CC almost never had a break since March. Then before ASW Fever had a full week schedule. That's why she opted out of the 3-pt contest and relaxed during the game, aside from being guarded. Mainly though she didn't push it in the game as there was no point: it's a non-bearing game with no high stakes involved. It was pointless for her to push for a non-bearing game. She was content to do passes and let others like Arike shine.

    Clark had a good game
    Except for her 3 point shooting. Broke the record for the rookie assists in an all star game with 10 , 4 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and her passes were awesome. I’ve seen a lot of all star games and this one was the most competitive and fun and I’ve never seen someone guarded 94 feet, trapped and blitzed and doubled teamed
    Most of the game. Smh . I totally enjoyed the rookies doing their thing! Glad they won and hope the USA team brings home the gold.

    She didn’t have a great game but she broke the rookie all star record at 10 assists and almost matched the Sue Bird all star all time record of 11 by the way you forgot that she was guarded like no all star by defending her even before she met half court a courtesy of Cheryl Reeves petty and jealous behaviour. That probably explains her limited output of 4 points for the night. But you omitted those pesky little details in your presentation that would explain her lack lustre points performance and in part explain the demise of the Olympic team that was too busy defending against Caitlin Clark and not focusing enough on the other threats that the WNBA all star team was throwing at them.

      Lots of praise for the All stars and women’s basketball team for being able to win. The fact everyone is talking about the game and watching their favorite teams play is amazing and positive. Jealousy among the haters is real, this wasn’t Caitlin’s best game but she showed her true strength and passing ability second to none. Angel dominated the boards when she was in and showed up the old geritol drinking Olympic coach . The MVP of the game was awesome and how did the Olympic selection process leave her out? ❤

      @@donaldindividual-1 My question is and will remain how can we really get a good grasp of what she can do when she is guarded like no other players on the court. Everybody goes up in arms when AR is guarded for 15 seconds by the Liberty like Caitlin is being guarded for the whole game. She has gone as high as 29 so far. Without this maniacal defence used upon her can she drop 35, 40, 45, 50 in one night. I know the easy answer would be it creates opportunities for other players while she is being so heavily defended against. I agree. Once the fever has more potent offensive player it will loosen the stranglehold currently applied on her scoring game. I just find it annoying that we may never have a true grasp of her offensive game until the team improves on coaching and has more offensive talent on starter 4 and 5.

    Why are you saying she didn't have a good game? She played her position as a POINT GUARD awesomely .She FACILITATED a lot of those baskets, and drove the tempo of the game. She was INSTRUMENTAL to the Win. Only those that do not UNDERSTAND the MECHANICS of the SPORT think she didn't do much. She does not need to be the SHOOTER in every game. ONLY when NEEDED. Arike was COOKING, among others CC is not EGO driven to want to take every available shot ( she passed on making shots many times ,in order to let others SHINE.She is not about STAT padding) .CC was swamped ,yet she got GREAT PASSES done WITHOUT turnovers . True, she scored little, but made a good All Star performance.

      She was tired before the game, her legs were gone. You can't shot 3's properly with tired legs and feet. That's the reason she said she doesn't want to see a basketball for the next 3 weeks. She played the full season in college as well as the NCAA tournament, the final 4 and then a few short months later she's playing pro ball. She's the starting point guard on her team and all of the plays run through her.

    What do you mean she did not have a good game…because she had only 4 points? She broke an assist record so contributed to 24+ points in the game. That’s a good game. She also credited others who were scoring where she did not need to be depended on to do so, as she has usually had to be in the past. She is cold on her 3 pointers right now, but those will come.
