      +fogelstrauss1909 that's not true. for one, brain size and even brain to body size isn't a reliable way of measuring intelligence. on the second point, they have been found to be able to work in groups, count groups up to six, recognize different handlers in zoos, and have distinct personality. they are the most intelligent reptiles known currently.

    • @johnbonora4695
      @johnbonora4695 8 років тому +8

      +fogelstrauss1909 A google search would suffice, they are actually very intelligent, easily able to understand commands, recognize people, have complex personalities, etc.

    • @rdizzy1
      @rdizzy1 8 років тому +4

      +neo bear Brain volume and weight is actually what matters most, not actual total size, neanderthals had larger(in size) brains than homo sapiens yet the density(weight) of our brains is far higher due to the ridges in the brain, and more densely packed neurons. In general it is overall average of neuron density that is the best measure of general intelligence among species. With most reptiles, it is nothing but anthropomorphism, and not actual personalities. (even the same with cats and dogs in reality)

    I dont understand why some people think Bigboy lives in my house. I also dont understand why some people think I went to Africa and caught a giant monitor lizard to bring home to live in my house.The fact that i show on my channel where Bigboy lives in a giant outdoor enclosure,and the people that make these comments dont even watch the video responce that shows his enclosure.And that Bigboy was almost dead when I bought him from a pet shop,13 yrs ago. Teaching animals shows their abilitily to learn. I dont teach them to roll over, but i have taught them to go through hoops and fetch.Not to mention playing hide and seek with them. Its on my videos, so I am not just saying this. Look what Bigboy just did, I caled him over to me, then told him to get out of the house (playfully of course) and did litsen to me for awhile. First of all, sorry if I sounded rude in my comentary. It was not my intention.
      It's because I thought that pets like that would have a different set of rules based on their own nature. And we, as owners, have to respect that.
      But looking in your channel, it really likes that you established a bond with him and your way of treating don't stress the animal in a harmful way.

    Your sav isnt eating? It might just be the heat in the cage. How big is the sav? They are visual feeders and like fast moving things. I had a sav that wouldnt eat and offered it a spider,and thats all it took. Thanks for watching
