I’ve owned a Nature’s Generator Powerhouse for a few months now and I really like it, it can do 7200 watts of 240v Split Phase which can power my house using an inlet
This would be handy to plug into the generator panel to silently run overnight circuits, then fire up the gas generator during the day to run those and recharge the Anker (or use solar to recharge, if available). Currently I just plug my fridge and freezer into another solar generator overnight, but using the generator panel input would be way more convenient and still allow the other circuits (like lights) to work during middle of the night pitstops. @@user-li6go4lk1b I suppose so. Is there a UPS large enough to run a 120/240V 30A panel load overnight? Honest question as I don't know and I always think of those small ones to protect computers for a few minutes. I know an overnight load would be a lot less than during the day, so maybe something smaller will work. Unless you mean something like a Telsa Powerwall (or one of the many alternates) system, but they are all a lot more money and not portable. If you have some suggestions for me to look into, I'd certainly appreciate hearing them!

I wish this would have given some examples of runtime under various loads. The average person is going to have a difficult time quantifying how long this is going to power various scenarios. As in, will this keep my 3 ton AC unit, fridge and basic lighting on if the power is out for 8 hours? Technology is coming along at a quick pace... I wonder how long it will be until a battery backup is truly competitive with a generator (which can run for hours and hours).
It won't run your 3T AC at all unless it's a variable speed model or you have a soft start kit installed. Even then, at just 3820Wh, it won't run it for very long. Our new 4T VS American Standard draws about 3.8 kWh. So, it would only run it for an hour continuously. Perhaps 2 hours if it was cycling on/off.
My house pulls around 750-1400 watts if I am careful with what I run. Being extra careful I may get thru the night with this unit and use my gas gen during the day. My gas heater and gas water heater use about 700 watts total when running.
It seems the signature solars 18kw system is still the baseline to beat for home battery backup. But the nice thing about this system is portable and can easily take it with you. Just wish the solar input is higher wattage and voltage
That's what is the problem for me, you have up to 12KW output, but you can only put in 6KW. Why would you make it put out so much KW but not be able to take in higher KW is beyond me. With two of these the max input total is 6KW, and max output of 12KW. That means if your home is consistently running 7KW you will be at a net negative at all times.
Yup that's my biggest beef with solar generators. They focus on wall charging rather then solar input. They need to get rid of the car charger inputs and get a better mppt controler. Like someone is going to charge their 2000 watt battery with a 12 volt car input beyond retarded. Maybe if I drive for two weeks straight I could get it charged. I appreciate the technology behind theses large power stations the issue is at this point and time they are too expensive for many especially if you want to run your entire house during an outage instead of a few select circuits. Once you start adding extra batteries another unit and solar panels you will be spending thousands at that point. Gas or fossil fuel Generators are still the price vs performance kings on the market. It's gonna take some time for the technology to mature for the price to come down on these things either way I like the concept though.
That outlet next to the 30 amp plug is actually a 50 amp ment for a stove. Considering it can go up to 12kw of output, it makes sense they would put that on the machine
Please pay attention to the battery capacity! This is a great system, but it just doesn't have that big of a battery inside. It may be able to run a whole house for 1-2 hrs, then take much longer to recharge
All of these kinds of powerstations type products are still well outside my budgeting priorities. However, the technology has made big leaps just in the last few years and more brands are getting into the market which all should help with the price tags. I can't speak for any anker products in this specific product market however i have the eufy cameras and I'm happy with them. Its one of the few systems that doesn't require a monthly subscription to use and their battery life and signal range claims are pretty consistent with real world results. That's a pretty big deal to me since so many things have overinflated claims based on absolute perfect conditions or whatever like mpg ratings on cars that nobody ever actually sees. And the operation of the cameras and overall system has been really good. Only big downside I've had with them is as soon as i take a camera inside my metal pole barn the metal siding kills the signal. A booster system or something to fix that would be great. The signal has no issue clipping through multiple brick walls or anything else I've encountered but that building is it's kryptonite.
All great points. I hate the monthly subscriptions unless its like TV or phone then its understandable. I agree with you also these are moving into new space where in a couple more years the prices will keep coming down and power will go up. 15 years ago think of battery weedwackers, they were awful and cost a lot. Now they are cheaper and work awesome. Its going in the right direction for sure!
I wish ads of devices like this would not use the word "generator". It does not generate electricity. It is a battery that stores electricity. It does offer a variety of outputs and can support a relatively heavy draw for a short period of time, but then it's done until it recharges for a number of hours. It has its uses in places where there is no onsite power or during an outage, but you can't expect it to support a typical home or use of power tools for very long.

Can we focus on what these devices are capable of doing, and stop grousing about what they are called ? GEEZ, so you almost begrudgingly admit that solar back-up batteries do have limited usage. But only very limited use for a short time... So if the electric power in your area is down, how are you going to go and pump more gasoline or diesel fuel or whatever your "true generator" needs to function ? If your "true generator" relies on an internal combustion engine, what if you can't get it started . Even if you are an expert on internal combustion machinery (which most of us ARE NOT), what if the thing just refuses to fire up ? Do you just keep cranking away at it until you have a heart attack... If solar energy surely does have limitations, don't ALL OTHER FORMS of some safety and assurance for us in times of crisis also have their own unique limitations ? 😊😊

2:42 “the one on the left is the more common one for something like a dryer or even devices like welders” That’s NEMA 14-50, not the NEMA 14-30 dryers often use. These days it’s more common for an EVSE vehicle charging. It even says “EV Port” right there. What concerns me is that it’s only 25A when they use a 60A plug. Many EVSEs will default to 48A when used with that plug since the plug is not supposed to be used without a 60A circuit and continuous loads give 20% headroom. If they had put a NEMA 14-30 there instead then there wouldn’t be an issue. The AmazingE EVSE is designed for NEMA 14-30 exclusively and only draws 16A through that plug. A Tesla Mobile Connector EVSE with a NEMA 14-30 adapter would draw up to 24A and since 24 is less than 25 you should have time to reduce it from inside the car if continuous loading might be an issue. If this thing overloads before you can make that adjustment because the Tesla MC with the NEMA 14-50 adapter went straight to 48A, well, it sure isn’t going to be much good for roadside rescues… which is what I wanted it for.

Yes I have seen that but something is off. Its like they carved out some of the inverter power and gave you that but its not the full inverter which doesn't make any sense. I don't know why they don't just put the full inverter to it since without using somewhat illegal adapters you won't be able to get it to a standard generator inlet.

Much prefer my EcoFlow (but you need two main units for 240), this Anker looks like it might fill the role I wanted this Superbase for with more amps (240v) and from a brand I've come to trust over the years (Anker and Eufy have a certain minimum build quality and customer support for everything that some products exceed, they also don't just drop stuff while in warranty) I missed the super early-bird on this but will look again to see if I can squeeze this in the budget or if I want to go with an all-in-one 48v DIY for this planned project
@@KaceyGreen I have only reviewed one Superbase model and it was very good but it seems like they may be going to fast for those huge models. I never would have believed that Anker could go from the company that made USB chargers to devices this large but this was very impressive. See what happens, after the campiagn they may still offer deals too.

Zendure offers a the SuperBase V that does 240. I actually own the 4600 LiFePO4 model. They offer a semi sold state battery model also. Point Zero Energy offers the Titan 240 also. They are taking preorders now
You are correct, the only issue is its super low amperage, so it does do 240v but it's not usable for most of the reasons you want 240v but it looks to be a good powerstation. As far as Titan that have to be the weirdest company on the planet, preorders, delays and they never seem to ship anything. I like Zendure, I wouldn't touch a Titan product, I honestly though they went out of business 2 years ago.
You're absolutely right about the low amps on the SuperBase V. But fortunately my items fall underneath the threshold. I'm surprised to hear you say that about TITAN. They have such a loyal fan base that speaks so highly about the customer service. Although, I have heard about long back ups on deliveries. I will say all the new competition is definitely a win for consumers. I felt like companies were just repackaging and rebranding the same offers for a while. I think Anker is definitely showing Bluetti and EcoFlow that they can't be complacent. Anker is here to play hard ball with solid offerings and customer support.

Very cool these are getting very capable with that much power output. But feels like trying to solve an issue that most people don’t have. Seems like electric power grid reliability has significantly improved over the years (especially in the northeast, I live in CT). A harbor freight generator that costs 1/5 the cost, would suffice for most. And only get used maybe once every 5 years.
Tell that to the folks in Texas. Currently the Houston area is suffering due to Hurricane Berly. I would love one of these during this disaster. Power has been out since Monday. Yes I have the jackery and a small eco Flo. But with little sun available it requires me to charge the long way in my vehicle.
This Anker unit uses a low cost, high frequency, transformerless inverter to convert DC battery current into AC alternating current. High frequency inverters are notorious for their short lives, low surge capacity and their potential for damaging the appliances that they are powering. A much better investment is to purchase a real, off grid, solar generating system that uses a low frequency, transformer based inverter. Your system will last, far, far longer and you'll be able to start and run high surge loads without damaging your solar generator or the appliances that you're powering.
You didn’t mention any figures for the Wh of he device. Seems interesting for camper trailer applications run the just the lights and outlets instead of a noisy generator, especially if you’ve got propane to run the fridge and AC.

How long this batteries will last? I mean not the the charger but the battery. I bought a battery powered EGO Mower and after one year, batteries couldn't hold the charfe anymore... Same thing happened with some rioby batteries, and eventually with our smartphones... I mean, it's a lot of money to have batteries not holding the charge in a couple of years.

@@markkempton4579 At 03:26 Chris says "additional wattage", which implies 12kW and thus 50A. But I could not find concrete confirmation of this in Anker's technical materials. In any case, you won't get much run time with 2 of these units when pulling more than 25A. For example, if you are drawing 2kW@240V and 3kW@120V (~33A total), you'll get just over an hour of power. So we'll both be stuck with our fossil burners for extended outages, at least for the foreseeable future.
With only 3840Wh it's not going to replace my gas powered inverter. Runtime is not very long when running an entire house. Cost/Hr of runtime is very high.
The one thing I can’t seem to figure out about this device: can I take it to a Tesla charge station or any other charge station like you can do with the ecoflow home electric generator?
It seems like a good solution for an RV. However, the power outages I really care about have lasted a day or more and how would I recharge this? Also, can it be recharged while it's being used? If so, it might be good as a sort of hybrid system with a small, 2000W inverter style generator.
I just received my F3800. Nice and ready to go. But?? I ask Anker Support about charging the powerhouse with my DeWalt generator. My initial concern was the gen puts out 120v 20 amp = 2400 watts. Anker only accepts 1800 and wanted to know if this would be a problem. Watts no problem but the gen is. My gen is not a pure sine wave. Modified sine which almost all gas gens are. So the dilemma is that charging could damage the unit just like other sensitive electronic. So the question with this new Anker F3800 and your out of power for 3 days and its raining, how do you charge the unit?
Good Review. I would be interested in two units in order to get to 12KW. I use about 10K watts per day without the AC or Heater. Two units (7.6Kwh) would have barely enough to make it one day. I have a small tractor and a 10KW PTO generator that could be used to charge the two units each day. The diesel tractor is very efficient on fuel and with a 100 gallon spare diesel tank it is plenty to last for weeks. The Anker is also not waterproof, but a small shed could handle these units. I think the unit is promising, the sad truth is i could spend half the money this unit costs on battery's and i would have nearly doubled my capacity already. It would cost me over 12k$ in these units to match my homemade portable setup that cost me around 3500$ to build. That includes top of the line Victron charger controller,Battery's and inverter. Not to mention i designed mine to be modular and portable so its not stuck in any location. If i took that 12k$ those units would cost me and used it to further enhance my system i would never have to worry about solar or battery's for the rest of my life. It would even cover my battery replacements when they go bad in 12 years.
I'm just getting into this so I really don't know much, but would you be able to provide more information on your setup? I would love to have a larger capacity, less cost setup, that is also 'plug and play' like this Anker, Ecoflow, Bluetti style setup where I can just hook up my battery bank/inverter into a 'generator 50amp hookup inlet' etc., when needed. Everything I keep finding has hardwire connection from Inverter into breaker panel, and trying to avoid that since I already have the generator inlet 50amp hookup there.
We just went with a natural gas standby generator. I wish something like this could work, but we have had power outages that have lasted for days, and being on well and septic, you need power to run the well and also power the septic aerator. We also need to power the sump pump in the spring 24/7, so relying on something like this, just does not make sense. Standby is nice as it comes on automatically, which is great when we are not at home. Now, camping off grid, this could be very useful.
@@allenbaxley8412 we got the Honeywell from Costco Canada. Costco US, has lots of options from 14kw to 22kw. Mine it 20kw, but 18kw on natural gas. The model my father just got, is 22kw, so 20kw on gas. They are branded Honeywell, but are made by Generac. They just had an extended warranty promo. Not sure if it is still running. Great machine and is all automatic.
Other than plugging it in to use indoors, I really don't see the advantage over a generator. You still have to lug it around, plug/unplug it, charge it up after. It doesn't have a 240v input, so no UPS mode, and no fast charging from the grid or a generator while in use. If their target is whole home backup I think they missed the mark here.
Ever been in the aftermath of a hurricane when gas is in short supply, sometimes for weeks at a time? Being able to charge of solar and run at night is huge in those situations. I also see a huge adoption for RVs in lieu of generators as well.
@@pm5203 I don't live anywhere that's a concern so I can't relate, but I do see your point. As for RV use, most RVs already have a house battery system, you're better off upgrading that instead of using one of these units. If you need to run air conditioning throughout the day (which would be my use case) then a generator is the only viable option.

Very hard to understand the true run time under ordinary conditions of using it as a backup for your home when the grid goes down. Assuming a hookup to one refrigerator, four 120 outlets plus one gas furnace, what would be the run time? I suspect no more than 1 or 2 hours which would mean pretty much worthless as a home backup system...
Did your unit emit a constant high-speed fan noise @ like 70 decibels (sounds like a vacuum cleaner running)? I just got one yesterday and from the moment I turned it on it was super loud. I thought it might ramp down when fully charged - but 24 hours later, fully charged and with no load attached it's still so loud I can hear it from 2 rooms away with 2 sets of doors closed in between
Been watching your vids and thought you were one of the rare honest no-BS kind of guys. However, unless I missed it nowhere in the vid did you explain how this is going to actually replace a generator. This is basically a giant rechargeable battery, not a generator by anyone's definition. I need a small genset for when power goes down in winter for a day, maybe more. Even limiting the circuits active at my main panel this would poop out after 14-16 hours. My current genset will run 3-4 hrs/gallon, and I usually have a couple 5g gas cans around for tractor/snowblower, etc. If I want to spend $100, I can get the conversion kit for running it off the house nat. gas. Manf's all seem to be getting their influencers to hype these things as generators instead of simply portable power banks. I love the Kickstart(?) campaign by Anker, "Q: How do you recharge these? A: Use a generator or utility/house power..." But I guess if someone offers you a $3500-5000 unit for free for a revie.... PS: Looks like basic unit is less than 4 Kwh for $3500-5000. So you can draw 1Kw for 4 hours, or 4Kw for 1 hour.... for $3500-50000. Thats about
The cost per kw*hr is too high. You can build a battery system for home back up for much less or even better combine it with solar and then get the whole system a 30% tax credit and really bring down the cost while having a system that could last indefinitely without grid power. The only advantage I see with this is its portability, even that is limited though due to weight. Also having a compact all in one system. This could be a good van life power supply.
Absolutely, the fact it hit almost 8000 is nuts. Most inverters can't surge for more than 1 second max. 6000 is definitely fine and you could switch from dryer, microwave, well, etc. Just balance it for the 6000 watts. I do this with our gas generator. We shut everything off so we can dry clothers. We lose power for 3+ days a lot so you need the regular stuff
That is true but sadly its a sub-standard 240v.So while it puts out 240v at 14amps it won't power any normal 240v items, other maybe odd 240v hand tools.
@@jerkychew899 It's not just 1 item, almost always used for an interlock so you have to consider all the things using it in total. Standard 240v outlets are rated at 30amps. Even this Solix at 25amp is a little low but very close. Electric Dryers, Water Heater or well pump are all on breakers higher than that. There is not a generator on the planet that offers the 240v outlet Zendure had with that little output Yes 240v, but useless for an interlock. Thats why they used a almost never seen 240v US plug, popular in the 70s since putting the L1430 would have been like having a spedometer that goes to 100 but the car only goes 25mph.. You can certainly underamp an physical outlet but it's not going to power the 240v items people want. But you are 100% right, Zendure did 240v, but I guess you could say they did it dirty and didnt use their full output.
With just the single box as shown you could run a 5000 watt dryer for about 45 minutes continuously. Not a great runtime, but thats a maximum load non-stop. Compare that to say a fridge and pellet stove fan, and this could run both of those for almost 2 days. Non-continous loads are gtreat for batteries. Say a well pump that takes nothing when not in use but is critical for an outage. This could meet that need for 3 days. Just wanted to add a little more to put it in context

I was able to bid on the kickstarter F3800 for $3500 w solar panels but can get the 767 for half the cost or more plus amazon prime and costco next have great deal now on bundles. I’m really only interested in keeping my fridge running and a couple small appliances during an outage. If the power is going to be out for more than a few days, I’m going to have to leave town to the nearest hotel that has power anyway. What do you think?

This is far from the first to have 240V, we were using a Bluetti on our construction site all summer that did 5V, 12V, 120V, and 240V among other things.
what are your thoughts on this handling an active sump pump in a major storm. it has a battery backup but in high rain season its not unheard of to run 4000 cycles.
If I have a golf cart with a 48v lipo battery, can I plug any thoughts on how I could charge it? Or use it as an extended battery. It looks like the connector is proprietary.
I think the Zendure was and is a device that was first to perform the functions your mentioning in the first minute of the video, but here is why I'm commenting: How long would it take this Anker Solix F3800 to actually charge an electric car's battery in the 32 kWh like the 2007 electric Ford Focus, a regular class 2 home level charger does this in under 10 hous, would it take much longer to use the F3800 and could it top up the electric car battery completely?

yeah these things are cool, especially the Ecoflow Ultra, but in reality you need a gas, diesel, or propane generator for any long term needs...more than a day a two. Get a duel fuel, run it on propane, and you won't have the problem of gas sitting for a long time. Imagine, you buy a predator, Westinghouse, or champion 12500 duel fuel for 1500 max. Done. These power stations are just a shiny object. Good for Van Life, I own two Ecoflows, but they are not serious for home backup.
I know this is an older video, but is there anyone who knows the peak wattage output of the single unit? I'm assuming the 6,000-watt rating is the running wattage. I currently use a gas generator with 9,000 peak watt capacity to power an outdoor 10,000lb capacity automotive lift. I'd love to invest in a solar battery system that could meet or exceed those numbers as running a gas generator is very annoying.
A power station is not a generator replacement. It siply stores electrical power. When empty you cant just add moree gas. You need a regular gen or power back on to refill.

I am confused, the 50amp port can be used as well. I saw another youtube reviewer (David Poz) who had it hooked up to his 'inlet' via the 50amp outlet. Is that still only providing 30amps?@@SilverCymbal
@@elykk18 Yes that is correct. Many appliances that will use the 50amp plug will draw far less than that and if its within the 6000 watt output that will work. You won't ever not be safe since its sort of creating an underload (not really a word) so it might fail to power something but can't overheat as its not exceeding the 50amp wire/plug size.
I'm a day away from deciding if I wanted to get a 30amp inlet or 50amp inlet hookup for the house, so I assumed since this has the 50amp port that I should do the 50amp hookup, but sounds like it wouldn't really make any difference if I choose 30 or 50?@@SilverCymbal
Dont bother. Ideally all these devices should be made to run for at least 2 days without the need to recharge. But as far as I know, such battery unit does not yet "exist" or just hasnt been put to market. Eventually perhaps new power devices will be able to power your home 100% 24/7 independently of power utility and grid when this happens, all power utility companies will close down due to loss of customers.

This is a gimmick for people that dont know about battery capacity and power rating. @6kW of power, it will last for about 45 mins, YES that is correct, less than an hour.
Well pumps vary a lot in terms of use and they don't stay on continuously, they cycle on and off as you fill you tank. This makes it ideal for a power station. Typical household could run a average 1/2hp well pump or about 2 days with one charge with this

I’ve owned a Nature’s Generator Powerhouse for a few months now and I really like it, it can do 7200 watts of 240v Split Phase which can power my house using an inlet
This would be handy to plug into the generator panel to silently run overnight circuits, then fire up the gas generator during the day to run those and recharge the Anker (or use solar to recharge, if available). Currently I just plug my fridge and freezer into another solar generator overnight, but using the generator panel input would be way more convenient and still allow the other circuits (like lights) to work during middle of the night pitstops. Honest question as I don't know and I always think of those small ones to protect computers for a few minutes. I know an overnight load would be a lot less than during the day, so maybe something smaller will work.
Unless you mean something like a Telsa Powerwall (or one of the many alternates) system, but they are all a lot more money and not portable.

I wish this would have given some examples of runtime under various loads. The average person is going to have a difficult time quantifying how long this is going to power various scenarios. As in, will this keep my 3 ton AC unit, fridge and basic lighting on if the power is out for 8 hours? Technology is coming along at a quick pace... I wonder how long it will be until a battery backup is truly competitive with a generator (which can run for hours and hours).
It won't run your 3T AC at all unless it's a variable speed model or you have a soft start kit installed. Even then, at just 3820Wh, it won't run it for very long. Our new 4T VS American Standard draws about 3.8 kWh. So, it would only run it for an hour continuously. Perhaps 2 hours if it was cycling on/off.
My house pulls around 750-1400 watts if I am careful with what I run. Being extra careful I may get thru the night with this unit and use my gas gen during the day. My gas heater and gas water heater use about 700 watts total when running.

It seems the signature solars 18kw system is still the baseline to beat for home battery backup. But the nice thing about this system is portable and can easily take it with you. Just wish the solar input is higher wattage and voltage
That's what is the problem for me, you have up to 12KW output, but you can only put in 6KW. Why would you make it put out so much KW but not be able to take in higher KW is beyond me. With two of these the max input total is 6KW, and max output of 12KW. That means if your home is consistently running 7KW you will be at a net negative at all times.
Yup that's my biggest beef with solar generators. They focus on wall charging rather then solar input. They need to get rid of the car charger inputs and get a better mppt controler. Like someone is going to charge their 2000 watt battery with a 12 volt car input beyond retarded. Maybe if I drive for two weeks straight I could get it charged. I appreciate the technology behind theses large power stations the issue is at this point and time they are too expensive for many especially if you want to run your entire house during an outage instead of a few select circuits. Once you start adding extra batteries another unit and solar panels you will be spending thousands at that point. Gas or fossil fuel Generators are still the price vs performance kings on the market. It's gonna take some time for the technology to mature for the price to come down on these things either way I like the concept though.
That outlet next to the 30 amp plug is actually a 50 amp ment for a stove. Considering it can go up to 12kw of output, it makes sense they would put that on the machine

Please pay attention to the battery capacity! This is a great system, but it just doesn't have that big of a battery inside. It may be able to run a whole house for 1-2 hrs, then take much longer to recharge

All of these kinds of powerstations type products are still well outside my budgeting priorities. However, the technology has made big leaps just in the last few years and more brands are getting into the market which all should help with the price tags. I can't speak for any anker products in this specific product market however i have the eufy cameras and I'm happy with them. Its one of the few systems that doesn't require a monthly subscription to use and their battery life and signal range claims are pretty consistent with real world results. That's a pretty big deal to me since so many things have overinflated claims based on absolute perfect conditions or whatever like mpg ratings on cars that nobody ever actually sees. And the operation of the cameras and overall system has been really good. Only big downside I've had with them is as soon as i take a camera inside my metal pole barn the metal siding kills the signal. A booster system or something to fix that would be great. The signal has no issue clipping through multiple brick walls or anything else I've encountered but that building is it's kryptonite.

I agree with you also these are moving into new space where in a couple more years the prices will keep coming down and power will go up. 15 years ago think of battery weedwackers, they were awful and cost a lot. Now they are cheaper and work awesome. Its going in the right direction for sure!
I wish ads of devices like this would not use the word "generator". It does not generate electricity. It is a battery that stores electricity. It does offer a variety of outputs and can support a relatively heavy draw for a short period of time, but then it's done until it recharges for a number of hours. It has its uses in places where there is no onsite power or during an outage, but you can't expect it to support a typical home or use of power tools for very long.

GEEZ, so you almost begrudgingly admit that solar back-up batteries do have limited usage. But only very limited use for a short time... So if the electric power in your area is down, how are you going to go and pump more gasoline or diesel fuel or whatever your "true generator" needs to function ?
If your "true generator" relies on an internal combustion engine, what if you can't get it started . Even if you are an expert on internal combustion machinery (which most of us ARE NOT), what if the thing just refuses to fire up ? Do you just keep cranking away at it until you have a heart attack...

That’s NEMA 14-50, not the NEMA 14-30 dryers often use. These days it’s more common for an EVSE vehicle charging. It even says “EV Port” right there. What concerns me is that it’s only 25A when they use a 60A plug.
Many EVSEs will default to 48A when used with that plug since the plug is not supposed to be used without a 60A circuit and continuous loads give 20% headroom. If they had put a NEMA 14-30 there instead then there wouldn’t be an issue. The AmazingE EVSE is designed for NEMA 14-30 exclusively and only draws 16A through that plug. A Tesla Mobile Connector EVSE with a NEMA 14-30 adapter would draw up to 24A and since 24 is less than 25 you should have time to reduce it from inside the car if continuous loading might be an issue. If this thing overloads before you can make that adjustment because the Tesla MC with the NEMA 14-50 adapter went straight to 48A, well, it sure isn’t going to be much good for roadside rescues… which is what I wanted it for.

Yes I have seen that but something is off. Its like they carved out some of the inverter power and gave you that but its not the full inverter which doesn't make any sense. I don't know why they don't just put the full inverter to it since without using somewhat illegal adapters you won't be able to get it to a standard generator inlet.

Much prefer my EcoFlow (but you need two main units for 240), this Anker looks like it might fill the role I wanted this Superbase for with more amps (240v) and from a brand I've come to trust over the years (Anker and Eufy have a certain minimum build quality and customer support for everything that some products exceed, they also don't just drop stuff while in warranty)
I missed the super early-bird on this but will look again to see if I can squeeze this in the budget or if I want to go with an all-in-one 48v DIY for this planned project

I never would have believed that Anker could go from the company that made USB chargers to devices this large but this was very impressive. Zendure offers a the SuperBase V that does 240. I actually own the 4600 LiFePO4 model. They offer a semi sold state battery model also. Point Zero Energy offers the Titan 240 also. They are taking preorders now
You are correct, the only issue is its super low amperage, so it does do 240v but it's not usable for most of the reasons you want 240v but it looks to be a good powerstation. As far as Titan that have to be the weirdest company on the planet, preorders, delays and they never seem to ship anything. I like Zendure, I wouldn't touch a Titan product, I honestly though they went out of business 2 years ago.
You're absolutely right about the low amps on the SuperBase V. But fortunately my items fall underneath the threshold. I'm surprised to hear you say that about TITAN. They have such a loyal fan base that speaks so highly about the customer service. Although, I have heard about long back ups on deliveries. I will say all the new competition is definitely a win for consumers. I felt like companies were just repackaging and rebranding the same offers for a while. I think Anker is definitely showing Bluetti and EcoFlow that they can't be complacent. Anker is here to play hard ball with solid offerings and customer support.

Very cool these are getting very capable with that much power output. But feels like trying to solve an issue that most people don’t have. Seems like electric power grid reliability has significantly improved over the years (especially in the northeast, I live in CT). A harbor freight generator that costs 1/5 the cost, would suffice for most. And only get used maybe once every 5 years.
Tell that to the folks in Texas. Currently the Houston area is suffering due to Hurricane Berly. I would love one of these during this disaster. Power has been out since Monday. Yes I have the jackery and a small eco Flo. But with little sun available it requires me to charge the long way in my vehicle.
How loud is it running 1k watts? Like white noise like an air purifier on lower speeds or a hairdryer? Want something for a small home office.
This Anker unit uses a low cost, high frequency, transformerless inverter to convert DC battery current into AC alternating current. High frequency inverters are notorious for their short lives, low surge capacity and their potential for damaging the appliances that they are powering. A much better investment is to purchase a real, off grid, solar generating system that uses a low frequency, transformer based inverter. Your system will last, far, far longer and you'll be able to start and run high surge loads without damaging your solar generator or the appliances that you're powering.

You didn’t mention any figures for the Wh of he device. Seems interesting for camper trailer applications run the just the lights and outlets instead of a noisy generator, especially if you’ve got propane to run the fridge and AC.

How long this batteries will last? I mean not the the charger but the battery. I bought a battery powered EGO Mower and after one year, batteries couldn't hold the charfe anymore... Same thing happened with some rioby batteries, and eventually with our smartphones...

@@markkempton4579 At 03:26 Chris says "additional wattage", which implies 12kW and thus 50A. But I could not find concrete confirmation of this in Anker's technical materials. In any case, you won't get much run time with 2 of these units when pulling more than 25A. For example, if you are drawing 2kW@240V and 3kW@120V (~33A total), you'll get just over an hour of power. So we'll both be stuck with our fossil burners for extended outages, at least for the foreseeable future.
With only 3840Wh it's not going to replace my gas powered inverter. Runtime is not very long when running an entire house. Cost/Hr of runtime is very high.
The one thing I can’t seem to figure out about this device: can I take it to a Tesla charge station or any other charge station like you can do with the ecoflow home electric generator?
It seems like a good solution for an RV. However, the power outages I really care about have lasted a day or more and how would I recharge this? Also, can it be recharged while it's being used? If so, it might be good as a sort of hybrid system with a small, 2000W inverter style generator.

I just received my F3800. Nice and ready to go. But?? I ask Anker Support about charging the powerhouse with my DeWalt generator. My initial concern was the gen puts out 120v 20 amp = 2400 watts. Anker only accepts 1800 and wanted to know if this would be a problem. Watts no problem but the gen is. My gen is not a pure sine wave. Modified sine which almost all gas gens are. So the dilemma is that charging could damage the unit just like other sensitive electronic. So the question with this new Anker F3800 and your out of power for 3 days and its raining, how do you charge the unit?

Good Review. I would be interested in two units in order to get to 12KW. I use about 10K watts per day without the AC or Heater. Two units (7.6Kwh) would have barely enough to make it one day. I have a small tractor and a 10KW PTO generator that could be used to charge the two units each day. The diesel tractor is very efficient on fuel and with a 100 gallon spare diesel tank it is plenty to last for weeks. The Anker is also not waterproof, but a small shed could handle these units. I think the unit is promising, the sad truth is i could spend half the money this unit costs on battery's and i would have nearly doubled my capacity already.
It would cost me over 12k$ in these units to match my homemade portable setup that cost me around 3500$ to build. That includes top of the line Victron charger controller,Battery's and inverter. Not to mention i designed mine to be modular and portable so its not stuck in any location. If i took that 12k$ those units would cost me and used it to further enhance my system i would never have to worry about solar or battery's for the rest of my life. It would even cover my battery replacements when they go bad in 12 years.
I'm just getting into this so I really don't know much, but would you be able to provide more information on your setup? I would love to have a larger capacity, less cost setup, that is also 'plug and play' like this Anker, Ecoflow, Bluetti style setup where I can just hook up my battery bank/inverter into a 'generator 50amp hookup inlet' etc., when needed. Everything I keep finding has hardwire connection from Inverter into breaker panel, and trying to avoid that since I already have the generator inlet 50amp hookup there.

We just went with a natural gas standby generator. I wish something like this could work, but we have had power outages that have lasted for days, and being on well and septic, you need power to run the well and also power the septic aerator. We also need to power the sump pump in the spring 24/7, so relying on something like this, just does not make sense.
Standby is nice as it comes on automatically, which is great when we are not at home.
Now, camping off grid, this could be very useful.
What brand and size of natural gas standby generator did you go with?
@@allenbaxley8412 we got the Honeywell from Costco Canada. Costco US, has lots of options from 14kw to 22kw. Mine it 20kw, but 18kw on natural gas. The model my father just got, is 22kw, so 20kw on gas.
They are branded Honeywell, but are made by Generac.
They just had an extended warranty promo. Not sure if it is still running.

Other than plugging it in to use indoors, I really don't see the advantage over a generator. You still have to lug it around, plug/unplug it, charge it up after. It doesn't have a 240v input, so no UPS mode, and no fast charging from the grid or a generator while in use. If their target is whole home backup I think they missed the mark here.
Ever been in the aftermath of a hurricane when gas is in short supply, sometimes for weeks at a time? Being able to charge of solar and run at night is huge in those situations. I also see a huge adoption for RVs in lieu of generators as well.
@@pm5203 I don't live anywhere that's a concern so I can't relate, but I do see your point. As for RV use, most RVs already have a house battery system, you're better off upgrading that instead of using one of these units. If you need to run air conditioning throughout the day (which would be my use case) then a generator is the only viable option.
I actually run one of two ACs on our trailer off battery, but only for short periods during the heat of the day. No more than 3-4 hours. Most places we camp cool off at night. @@xnizonyt
This system needs to allow higher inputs for solar. It makes no sense that you can output so much, yet only intake so little.
Manual says it can take a 2400 watt solar charge but........V x amps= watts

Does Anker sell a smart home panel similar to Ecoflow if you want automatic power switching during blackouts in the event you are not home? If not, would the Ecoflow Smart Home Panel work with this system?
Very hard to understand the true run time under ordinary conditions of using it as a backup for your home when the grid goes down. Assuming a hookup to one refrigerator, four 120 outlets plus one gas furnace, what would be the run time? I suspect no more than 1 or 2 hours which would mean pretty much worthless as a home backup system...
Did your unit emit a constant high-speed fan noise @ like 70 decibels (sounds like a vacuum cleaner running)? I just got one yesterday and from the moment I turned it on it was super loud. I thought it might ramp down when fully charged - but 24 hours later, fully charged and with no load attached it's still so loud I can hear it from 2 rooms away with 2 sets of doors closed in between

However, unless I missed it nowhere in the vid did you explain how this is going to actually replace a generator.
This is basically a giant rechargeable battery, not a generator by anyone's definition. I need a small genset for when power goes down in winter for a day, maybe more.
Even limiting the circuits active at my main panel this would poop out after 14-16 hours. My current genset will run 3-4 hrs/gallon, and I usually have a couple 5g gas cans around for tractor/snowblower, etc. If I want to spend $100, I can get the conversion kit for running it off the house nat. gas.
Manf's all seem to be getting their influencers to hype these things as generators instead of simply portable power banks.

The cost per kw*hr is too high. You can build a battery system for home back up for much less or even better combine it with solar and then get the whole system a 30% tax credit and really bring down the cost while having a system that could last indefinitely without grid power.
The only advantage I see with this is its portability, even that is limited though due to weight. Also having a compact all in one system. This could be a good van life power supply.

Absolutely, the fact it hit almost 8000 is nuts. Most inverters can't surge for more than 1 second max. 6000 is definitely fine and you could switch from dryer, microwave, well, etc. Just balance it for the 6000 watts. I do this with our gas generator. We shut everything off so we can dry clothers. We lose power for 3+ days a lot so you need the regular stuff

You are incorrect. The Zendure Superbase V can output both 120v and 240v and even do them simultaneously, from one single unit.
That is true but sadly its a sub-standard 240v.So while it puts out 240v at 14amps it won't power any normal 240v items, other maybe odd 240v hand tools.

@@jerkychew899 It's not just 1 item, almost always used for an interlock so you have to consider all the things using it in total. Standard 240v outlets are rated at 30amps. Even this Solix at 25amp is a little low but very close. Electric Dryers, Water Heater or well pump are all on breakers higher than that. There is not a generator on the planet that offers the 240v outlet Zendure had with that little output Yes 240v, but useless for an interlock. Thats why they used a almost never seen 240v US plug, popular in the 70s since putting the L1430 would have been like having a spedometer that goes to 100 but the car only goes 25mph.. You can certainly underamp an physical outlet but it's not going to power the 240v items people want. But you are 100% right, Zendure did 240v, but I guess you could say they did it dirty and didnt use their full output.

With just the single box as shown you could run a 5000 watt dryer for about 45 minutes continuously. Not a great runtime, but thats a maximum load non-stop. Compare that to say a fridge and pellet stove fan, and this could run both of those for almost 2 days. Non-continous loads are gtreat for batteries. Say a well pump that takes nothing when not in use but is critical for an outage. This could meet that need for 3 days. Just wanted to add a little more to put it in context

I was able to bid on the kickstarter F3800 for $3500 w solar panels but can get the 767 for half the cost or more plus amazon prime and costco next have great deal now on bundles. I’m really only interested in keeping my fridge running and a couple small appliances during an outage. If the power is going to be out for more than a few days, I’m going to have to leave town to the nearest hotel that has power anyway. What do you think?

This is far from the first to have 240V, we were using a Bluetti on our construction site all summer that did 5V, 12V, 120V, and 240V among other things.

what are your thoughts on this handling an active sump pump in a major storm. it has a battery backup but in high rain season its not unheard of to run 4000 cycles.

I agree with you,. but then I just looked and they sold 3.5m of these in 1 day and while I am not a big kickstarter person, there are a lot of folks that love it. Those are crazy sales for 1 day!

Hey seem like a legit reviewer, I saw your add about the yoshino power station. But I check a lot of information about solid state batteries. And from my research there are no solid state batteries on the market yet and there is none coming out till 2026 and that's a maybe, so why do the add?

yeah these things are cool, especially the Ecoflow Ultra, but in reality you need a gas, diesel, or propane generator for any long term needs...more than a day a two. Get a duel fuel, run it on propane, and you won't have the problem of gas sitting for a long time. Imagine, you buy a predator, Westinghouse, or champion 12500 duel fuel for 1500 max. Done. These power stations are just a shiny object. Good for Van Life, I own two Ecoflows, but they are not serious for home backup.

Can this device be charged at specific time of day?
I know this is an older video, but is there anyone who knows the peak wattage output of the single unit? I'm assuming the 6,000-watt rating is the running wattage. I currently use a gas generator with 9,000 peak watt capacity to power an outdoor 10,000lb capacity automotive lift. I'd love to invest in a solar battery system that could meet or exceed those numbers as running a gas generator is very annoying.
A power station is not a generator replacement. It siply stores electrical power. When empty you cant just add moree gas. You need a regular gen or power back on to refill.

I am confused, the 50amp port can be used as well. I saw another youtube reviewer (David Poz) who had it hooked up to his 'inlet' via the 50amp outlet. Is that still only providing 30amps?@@SilverCymbal
@@elykk18 Yes that is correct. Many appliances that will use the 50amp plug will draw far less than that and if its within the 6000 watt output that will work. You won't ever not be safe since its sort of creating an underload (not really a word) so it might fail to power something but can't overheat as its not exceeding the 50amp wire/plug size.
I'm a day away from deciding if I wanted to get a 30amp inlet or 50amp inlet hookup for the house, so I assumed since this has the 50amp port that I should do the 50amp hookup, but sounds like it wouldn't really make any difference if I choose 30 or 50?@@SilverCymbal

Dont bother. Ideally all these devices should be made to run for at least 2 days without the need to recharge. But as far as I know, such battery unit does not yet "exist" or just hasnt been put to market. Eventually perhaps new power devices will be able to power your home 100% 24/7 independently of power utility and grid when this happens, all power utility companies will close down due to loss of customers.
What about 220v? Coz that's what we use here..

Hopeless, in summer nights, with power outages, running this unit with x2 1.5kW airconditioners will last for a little bit more than about an hour.
This is a gimmick for people that dont know about battery capacity and power rating.
@6kW of power, it will last for about 45 mins, YES that is correct, less than an hour.
So how long would this run a well pump?
Well pumps vary a lot in terms of use and they don't stay on continuously, they cycle on and off as you fill you tank. This makes it ideal for a power station. Typical household could run a average 1/2hp well pump or about 2 days with one charge with this
