So the Doctor met the Binks. I don't know how true it is but somewhere I've read that Huyang, a droid professor who taught many Jedi younglings how to construct their own sabre, is said to have arrived at the Jedi Temple in a blue box. Also, the voice actor of Huyang _is_ David Tennant.

The very first episode of Chelmsford 123 shows the TARDIS materialising behind Aulos Paulinus (Jimmy Mulvehill) and Gratientus (Philip Pope) when they first arrive in Britain. A silhouette in long scarf and fedora comes out of the TARDIS, has a look around, goes back into the TARDIS and dematerialises.

IGN produced a Star Trek and Legion of Superheroes crossover. In the 31st century, the immortal Vandal Savage captured all kinds of time machines, from The George Pal’s time machine from the film of the same name (HG Wells). Malcolm McDowalls time machine from Time after time, Doc Browns delorian, the hot tub time machine, a Stargate, and a certain blue police box.

    1) New Zealand Superannuation commercial featured Tom Baker in character as The Doctor in the late 90s. 2) Prime Computer ads in the early 80s featured Tom Baker and Lala Ward both in character. 3) The Orville mentions Doctor Who in passing in an episode. This isn't too unusual as many TV shows (e.g. Futurama) have also referenced it. But The Orville is the closest thing to Star Trek. Seeing it canonized as a TV show in-universe is just a little special.

At a pantomime I went to years back for sleeping beauty there was a part of the act where they had to wait for everyone to wake up so the dr who theme played as a Tardis suddenly slowly came from the top to just land on the bottom. I’d probably say one of the stranger ones is Doctor Whooves from my little pony. In the show they don’t do that much referencing of the main show (they made him wear 4’s scarf and say allons-y in one episode, also was seen multiple times with a pony called rose)
But in one of the mlp comics my man had a literal TARDIS that was shaped like a muffin. It was really bizarre.

Maybe not a complete surprise, but in a scene in Russell T. Davies's heartbreaking AIDS drama series "It's a Sin," lead character Ritchie Tozer is an actor whose character confronts the Daleks. It's an homage to "Remembrance of the Daleks" -- specifically to DW actor and AIDS activist Dursley McLinden. (The "Sin" version is called "Regression of the Daleks.")

Not only was that last one an odd crossover, it was used as a way to shrink the character. He was originally in another comic series (off brand Transformers I think?) and then had an adventure with the Doctor who shrunk him to human size before depositing him to join the rest of the Marvel comics universe. Pretty clever use of Doctor Who IP!

Death's Head was a character in the *main* Transformers comic of the time, and was popular enough to be spun-off (by falling through a dimensional gateway built by a giant head) into his own strip, and then later his own comics.
      He's my favourite :D

    • @garygcrook
      @garygcrook 2 роки тому +3

@@SkageXL5 Due to Marvel wanting to keep the rights to him Death's Head appeared in a single page strip in Dragon's Claws before appearing in the British produced strips in Marvel UK's Transformers.
It was Unicron that launched him into the portal, and into the Time Vortex, where he met the Doctor, who shrunk him back to his original size (using the Master's Compressor Disruptor) before dropping DH off at the Baxter building.
They crossed paths again thanks to the contract on the Doctor's life, before Death's Head and Death's Head 2 discovered that it was the Doctor who was responsible for upsizing DH and putting him in the Transformers universe.
Which means that their "first" meeting and subsequent shrinking of DH was no accident.

Once on the cover of DL-4 "Dragons of Desolation" (whose cover features K-9, the Tardis, and the Doctor), and again on the cover of the Dragonlance Legends Novel "Time of the Twins" (in a piece entitled "The Last spell of Fistandantilus").

There's at least 2 Dr Who references & a Dr Who tribute in MMORPG RuneScape from UK based Jagex. There's a bank just below the South entrance to the Grand Exchange. If your character walks up to the last door at the N.E. end of the Varrock bank, mouse over the door & select the "knock" option, it'll cause the following interaction with a female bank npc:
    You: *knocks on door"
    Bank npc: Who's there?
    You: The Doctor
Bank npc: Dr Wh...wait I'm not falling for that!
The other Dr Who reference is in one of the "penguin" quests in which you come across some penguins in the desert next to a "crashed" red phone box that has the following written on it: T.A.R.D.I.S.
Each letter stands for different words in the penguins' "caper" quest & they ask for your help. As a Who is, I totally got the Dr Who references when I encountered them within RuneScape & loved that they put them into the game as an homage to Dr Who & they are something that only players who are Dr Who fans would recognize & get. But still fun little Easter eggs within the game!

Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath is a serious Doctor Who fan, and "Among the Cybermen" on GZR's "Black Science" was originally to have had a chorus of "Doctor Who lies dead among the Cybermen." Interestingly, Peter Capaldi's Doctor did just that, twenty years to the day of the release of the album. Down the line, in "End of the Beginning" on Black Sabbath's "13", there's "Regeneration of your cybersonic soul/Transforming time and space beyond control".
In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, "The Neutral Zone", the first six actors to play the Doctor are listed on a family tree on a computer console, although they spell Peter Davison's name incorrectly. Apparently, this was removed when they remastered the episode for HD.

There was a mission in the MMO game The Secret World called 'The Seven Silences', which you sadly can't play anymore, but at one point you were in a corridor with many doors and if you looked through the aperture in one of the doors, you could just about make out the TARDIS in the corner behind it.

The tardis shows up in mods for the game Fallout 4 (Fallout Who), and Skyrim, and the Doctor (sort of) shows up in 1982 marvel comic series Powerman and Iron Fist.

In the last episode of Series 2 of The Librarians (And the Final Curtain), when the team go into the time machine room a large dust sheet is draped over one of the machines. Cassandra lifts up one corner to reveal the bottom of the tardis.

And there was pretty much Dr Who music. The DeLorean in the same scene had a less that BTTF sting (and,IIRC, a different registration plate). This made me wonder if the BBC had given a OK for its use

In 2004 David Tennant starred in a British mini series called Blackpool as DI Carlisle who is investigating a murder and falls in love with the main suspects wife and has an affair with her. And...it's a musical. In episode three, Tennant is seen waiting to cross the street, presciently standing in front of the Doctor Who exhibit in Blackpool before he runs across the street.
And yes, you can find the whole series on UA-cam. It's actually pretty good. It also stars David Morrissey and Sarah Parish, two other DW guest stars in Tennant's era.

The incarnation of The Doctor throughout the entire run of Star Trek Voyager.
Known as the EMH (emergency medical hologram), he never had a real name.
He and the ship traveled through time repeatedly, despite being prohibited from altering timelines.
This regeneration fits neatly between The 7th Doctor and The War Doctor.
