These some old school highlights. Still great to rewatch
The #3 knockout of Mirko Crocop is so significant because Mirko was well known for extremely powerful kicks and his left high kick to the head was legendary for knocking people out. He even had a catchphrase for it "Right leg, hospital. Left leg, Cemetary" meaning the left high kick will kill you. It was one of his first fights in the UFC (he was a PRIDE legend before that) and he ended up getting knocked out with his signature move, it was a huge surprise to everyone that it would go down like that.
FACTS. When Gabe head kicked Cro Cop he broke the MMA communities heart in half. Mirko came back and eventually had an impressive run outside of the UFC. He ALSO subbed Gabriel Gonzaga too.
Silva broke his leg on Weidman's knee when Weidman checked the kick. It was their second fight.

Back in the day fighters could choose to wear boxing/wrestling style shoes to improve grip, but that meant you weren't allowed to kick your opponent. You'd also see the judo & jujitsu guys wearing their full GIs too.

Yes it was Anderson Silva who broke his own leg violently. It was a rematch of the fight in the highlights where he got KO'd

I haven't watched the reaction yet. I also don't know y'alls names so "dude in the middle" . Talking about the "brutality" of this sport. I know it looks brutal to see a person take shots when they are done. Look at it this way though. In a boxing fight people take way more unnecessary shots that cause brain damage. In boxing a guy gets dropped, the ref stops the battle and does the "standing 8 count" the fighter "gets his witts back" and the fight proceeds. Then he gets dropped again and the ref does the same thing. Basically the standing 8 count is "let's see if this possibly concussed person can keep going" well say they are concussed. Then they take multiple shots to the head while concussed. Vs dropping someone one time and landing a few more shots and getting the win. How many more shots did he take before the fight was over vs how many shots the boxer took after being concussed?
