I mean the 400 ml Bottle Heinz Ketchup is 500 RUB so ~5,20€, that's 2x the price it costs here in Germany. That same for the Tabasco and a bottle HP is ~5-6€ here, that's 1200 RUB... those prices are insanely high. And this is just a supermarket which is a chain from what I know. It is a premium supermarket chain, but this looks way above anything you'd expect in London. Such quality and range of choice simply doesn't exist in London. And if you travel outside London we are not even talking about basic mid-range luxuries. You'd never see even basic varieties of good quality produce in most rural shops in the UK. I don't know why UK is still considered some kind of "prime" location. UK is definitely sub-prime compared to what we see here in Russia. And in terms of cleanliness of streets, public transport, public health care UK is probably somewhere below so called "third world" nowadays.
I mean the 400 ml Bottle Heinz Ketchup is 500 RUB so ~5,20€, that's 2x the price it costs here in Germany.
That same for the Tabasco and a bottle HP is ~5-6€ here, that's 1200 RUB... those prices are insanely high.
Considering an average income of ~70-75k RUB per month, that's like spending over 1/8th of your income on sauce....
Another problem with American food is very low quality. So, I expect about Russia quality-price foods much much better then US.
@@DooMMasteR You are talking nonsense, 800 grams of Heinz ketchup costs 207 rubles, which is more than 2 times cheaper than in Germany, Tabasco 148 ml, costs 350 rubles, where did you get these prices?
@@imrussian6638 Did we just watch the same video?
I was talking about THIS market specifically.
Of course ketchup is not that insanely priced.
Thad said, 750 ml Heinz Ketchup at ALDI are just 1,99€, so very comparable.
@@DooMMasteR Prices for Ketchup in Russia are definitely many times lower than in Germany or in London. This is a fact. However, when you look at products which are EXCLUSIVELY imported from let's say USA and they travelled across Atlantic to land on that shelf - then yes, you should be prepared to pay for the USA version of Ketchup. Nothing wrong with that. In thousands of other Russian supermarkets you will have 50 varieties of Ketchup locally made and prices will be many times lower than anything in Germany or in London. This show is a very special kind of store designed to stock on items IMPORTED for other countries rather than locally produced. So hopefully you now better understanding. Watch other videos from Russel and you will see.
Be glad u r not in Perth anymore. We have 3 kind of breads, no coffee in shop, not such things like alcohol in grocery shops.

Wow, only just started watching this and I am amazed at such rich variety and range of fresh fruits, veggies and even seafood. I have not seen such lavish display of abundance anywhere in London in the last 30 years. Even the most expensive and over-hyped London stores will not offer such quality and range of choice. Even places such as Harrods look pale in comparison and in Harrods you pay through the nose. Prices in Harrods are from another planet.
"Azbuka Vkusa" has a huge number of stores in Moscow region, around 100 i guess. Most of them are in the center of Moscow city. But they are not affordable for typical citizen, prices are higher than in local stores.
@@TheShutoff Well, in London even regular supermarkets are not affordable, and prices in this supermarket are not much higher than in London. I checked prices. Only in London you will never have such nice displays of fresh fruits, vegetables or seafood. London looks like fourth-world country on the outskirts of civilisation in comparison.
Pity there's no lavish display of abundant customers in most of the shops that Russell visits ....... in fact, so many choices in this LUXURY (TYPICAL) one that any potential customer appears to have been so overwhelmed by it that they have left such a chaotically busy environment to go and shop elsewhere.
@@christopherdean2576 I find it most desirable to shop in places such as those shown in Russel's videos in Russia in comparison to awful dirty poorly stocked UK supermarkets. And God forbid ever going to places like Harrods in London. These places are full of tourists and people who NEVER buy anything because prices are astronomical. They just create horrific unpleasant atmosphere of overcrowded space of desperate "window-shoppers and thieves". Most UK supermarkets now have to lock up basic items such as steaks and minced meats. This is horrendous. And this is in "good" parts of London. What's going on in USA and NY is just utter criminality. Russia looks like paradise in comparison.
