Yay!!! When I was a youngster we would stay at a huge cabin with family and friends on Rock Creek. Head out to the bay in 3 boats and scallop away. We never snorkeled but everyone had a dip net. Dumping the net into a #2 washtub when scallops started swimming out of the nets. Our family returned to Bradenton with 5 or 6 one gallon milk jugs full of scallop meat. Yummo! And boy oh boy did our backs get sun burned (before SPF...Coppertone only). Worth every bit of discomfort.
Wished my Health wasn`t so bad I have lived here in Florida all of my 65 1/2 years fished Saltwater but never done that I have even Swam across Sebastian Inlet just because I didn`t want to walk over the Bridge. Enjoyed it Tug.
I live in Taylor County Fl. (where Steinhatchee is located) and when there are plenty in, they are fun to get. But they fluctuate year to year on how many show up. One way we cook them is to save several shells and add about 4 or 5 scallops to a half shell with butter and seasoning in the shell also, then throw em on the grill for just a couple minutes. We also quick fry them with flour or any type of seafood batter ( we prefer Zatarain's shrimp fry). We like them barely cooked, we even eat them raw right out the shell like an oyster.
Scalloped out of Hatch many times back in the day! I really like your channel. First of all, it brings back so many good memories, second of all, it doesn't cost you a arm and a leg the way you do it. I can see me in you when I was younger! God bless you and your wonderful family for the memories.
Almost time for my afternoon job, but there's always time for a catch, clean @ cook from Tug Trash Outdoor video. "Happy Halloween" Ian, Crystal @ family.
Fairly new subscriber so I am catching up on your older videos. My mouth is watering; especially when you know not to over cook them. Thanks for sharing and I hope to see you do more videos like this one. Take care/
Dang you did way better than me. I went 3 times last year, never hit my limit and one day didn't find a single one. I don't have boat so i paddleboard from shore. Probably would be better with a boat but who can afford it?
It's not 3 a.m. but I am watching your videos..... Strange because I will be moving back home to Georgia come Fall and the first place I will be going is Steinhatchee.... This is by far my family's favorite place to fish!
@@TugTrashOutdoors Never been actually.... I spent most of my adult life traveling the world, thanks to Uncle Sam, and I'm excited about being back in the south... Again, great job on the channel

Came across your channel by chance and watched very video in the past 24hrs. It’s real life and that’s the best thing to live and watch. Give a holler if you’re ever near Port Orange or Oak Hill!
That was awesome! So easy to harvest and plentiful. Ours are a little bigger down here but your ones look so tasty! Great way too cook them too! This was my first video after just watching you with Blue Gabe harvest and cook oysters. Looking forward to watching more! Cheers 🍻
Love scallops. Too expensive to buy but harvesting them yourself is absolutely the way to go. Liking your videos. So good to see your daughter learning to do these kinds of things herself.
Digging your style brother..Great content

Ah, i spend time missing you 2!
Is there a place we could kayak out to that area
Not exactly. Look up havens cove in Keaton beach I think you could kayak from there and find a few
Or kayak out of Dallus or rocky creek but that would be from a strong paddler
no worries, if there is no comment , keep doing your video's ,we still watching your video's
Thank you, I will

Any advice in that area with boat ramps. I’m taking my daughters for the first time this year.
