Emma , if you forget to bring something to wipe the dipstick off , remember that you can always lick it off . If it has a sweet taste , that is an indication of antifreeze in the oil , not good . If the oil has a bitter taste to it , that could indicate fuel in the oil which is not good ,and these situations need looked into . You can also wipe the dipstick most anywhere , good job , " Grasshopper " .

It may seem like such a little thing but if you get that caught in something when working your finger doesn’t stand a chance. That’s why I wear a rubber one or have a small necklace tucked in my shirt.
