I played a few more games, the game play does seem better than my Square off boards, but I would like a way to see the board game position on a screen (just to verify that the board matches the actual game position). Maybe I am just paranoid in that regard
WOW 😳 That is very disturbing 😧 They have some serious quality control issues. Chessnut seems to be more reliable in my opinion. At least Chessup is responding to you and trying to correct the situation but... wow.
Because of the firmware, this is a CHESS board in development! Some people, are also experience bad pieces that doesn't work, which is a mess IMO. I have the board myself, but if you want something that is more "complete", then I will recommend to wait at least 6-12 Months before buying!
The ChessUp folks quickly send you replacements for the non-working pieces. I had a couple of black pawns that were not recognized, and they sent me replacements within a day.
Yes, they are very quick to respond. The issue is, they have already sent me two replacement packages, and are already shipping a third, and each replacement package has a defective piece. Oh well, all I can do is wait and see what arrives and hopefully they will get their issues worked out.
@@DanOTaylor Hi, Dan..., That's exactly what I am doing. * I am looking into the ( Chessnut EVO ) AI chessboard with ( YT ) videos and comments. Wise decision. Mike in Montana. :)
Hi, Dan..., I just received my ( ChessUp 2 Smart Chessboard ) and now I am WORRIED ! ! * Maybe the ( Chessnut EVO ) AI Chessboard, would have been a better pick, even though, it cost more... * - 15% Discount through January. * Excellent video and very informative and helpful, and "Thank you" for sharing the video ! ! "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)
I’m guessing, because of the number of ‘failing rooks’ the problem could well be with the board not recognising black rooks (even though it has recognised one) . The boards parameters might be too specific for black rooks. Unless theres been a big batch of faulty black rooks in circulation 🤷♂️
I received my board a few weeks ago and had zero issues. It's been an amazing board so far, and perfect for practicing endgame positions (the board AI will move in response, so you don't need to think for it). This doesn't discredit Dan's experience, just sharing my own. Maybe I got lucky? Maybe Dan got unlucky?
Yeah, you’ve convinced me. I’m gonna wait a few months to buy (if I do). Thanks very much.

Tip for you if board disconnects you will always lose on time so when it does it finish the game on computer or phone

All of the pieces are working now, after a few rounds of replacement pieces, seems to be working great, and I'll put up a new video shortly

Do the pieces move by themselves?
They don't move by themselves, this is not a self-moving chess board
Hi, Dan..., " Have you thought about ( Chessnut EVO ) ?" * I sure would be... "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)
I looked into it but was in the square off dreggs of despair when I ordered this. Maybe in the future I'll give it a try.
