I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

the song was written by JYP, he said he wrote it after conversations with the twice members about their struggles and how they have been there for each other.
also to add to that during the time mina (2:15) took a step away from promotions due to anxiety and other personal issues, but now that shes back with all 9, everything is better :)

I was pretty surprised that Chaeyoung did vocals in this song
They get criticized because people think they can't sing and they're songs are easy to sing but it really isn't easy if it's that high pitched but they can sing it... They deserve more love😢💜
She said it is high pitched yes but she said the girls are not fit for strong singing performances (giving a hyperbole of Las Vegas) and in the beginning nasal in the register. Not because it is high pitched it is hard to sing. She rather meant is in overall a kinda simple singing (which she thinks the song is aiming for) with high pitched tone.
@@pdcs9770 tf , she never said "they are not fit" for that, she said "thats not where they are going" when giving that hyperbole. and about "simple" she meant the bridge part was simple but intresting. neither she meant "its overall simple singing", she gave many compliments through out the song. either you like putting words in people mouth or you need more English lessons. you can even see her hearting this comment which proves you further wrong.
@@pdcs9770 and about the comment, Twice songs are really hard to sing, even sunmi failed to sing "cheerup". and thats where misconceptions of "criticism" come from. only Twice's members can pull off singing their concepts. and members like jeongeon, jhiyo, nayeon are most powerful girl singers of this generation including few others of other group.
@@zeuxlaught2797 nope. I think you're interpreting it the other way around and selling their singing a bit too much. Try watching her reviews on Red Velvet and BlackPink. Those are real compliments there like she went gaga over the two groups vocals. In her review for Twice, she merely explained what they are trying to produce and the pitch is on a higher register but she did not say it is hard to sing that way cos actually most of normal girls voices are high pitched but did not really compliment their singing except on the arrangement where Mina executed like a fast build up. I really recommend you check her review about Red Velvet and BlackPinks vocals. There is a huge difference in her reviews and reactions.
@@zeuxlaught2797maybe as a once you consider those 3 as already topnotch vocalists of 3rd gen but outside your fandom we really dont. sorry but for me, only Jihyo is a good singer among all of the 9 members but she is still not in line with the best vocalists of the 3rd gen cos I think her voice character needs more identity and a little flat (jihyo sounds like a trained singer but her voice character does not give her instant identity in the industry) unlike Wendy and Rose, when you hear them sing, you already know who's singing. especially for a solo career (Wendy can come out sooner like Taeyon). I also love Mamamoos strong and colorful vocals. Just giving you example cos you said those 3 members are one of the best in the generation but really not, maybe just in your fandom. But twice members sing decently at least, except for momo cos she really sound nasal tbh. Well, she's the main dancer anyway so yeah I think that would make up for it.
The thing that makes me admire Twice so much is their willingness to improve. Normally you see that willingness is smaller groups but the more popular the group is, the less common it becomes. Twice is different. Whether it is taking vocal lessons during their short two week vacation (Sana, Momo, and Chaeyoung) or taking dancing lessons at 1 or 2 in the morning (Dahyun and Jihyo), they don’t care. They seem to want to do whatever it takes to become the best versions of themselves and it is showing. They are even working together to write their own songs. The Feel Special album was almost entirely made up of their songs. They are strong girls. I watched their formation in Sixteen back in 2014. Twice never lost their “girl next door” image. Not a single one of them has a god complex and they are willing to admit where they went wrong and fix it. I can go on about them all day, they truly are the perfect girl group.

As a long time kpop fan, I didn’t really want to like twice since it felt like all they did was like bubble gum pop type stuff. But honestly once I got my head out of my ass and just let myself enjoy the music, even if it isn’t the most like crazy vocals, I now love to listen to them Now. It’s impossible for me not to want to dance along to their songs, they’re all just so catchy! Also you’re necklace is super pretty!! Thanks for a great reaction

Feel Special was one of the easier tracks when it came to vocals. They do have some intense songs but they're mostly side tracks.

Honestly I don't understand why many people feel this way. There's nothing wrong with bubble gum pop sounds. Its fun to listen to more bright and cheerful sounding music here and there lol. We can enjoy it all.

The members have been going through some anxiety and hardships especially mina (the member at 2:31) has been diagnosed with anxiety and has not been participating in group events and promotions because of that. This song reflects the loneliness kpop idols feel and for Mina to have her members, family, and friends by her side makes her feel special. Each scenario that the members are in like the one in the rain or the dome, it all is representative of how the members feel. Thank you for the review.
Hi, long time once here. This post will be rather long but I'd like to explain some of the points in this song and meanings in this song. Feel special has a lot of symbolism and the lyrics are their most meaningful in this song. Even when hurtful words may stab me. This is referring to a time recently when the Japanese emperor stepped down. Sana, being Japanese made an Instagram post on Twices official instagram about the end of an era. Kinda like saying goodbye to the end of a decade or something and wishing for a happy future. It was not a political post but she still got bullied and attacked for it severely. There is still a lot of tenion and to be frank, racism between south Korea and japan. Everywhere sana was seen she looked sleep deprived, depressed, anxious, and in the verge of tears. It was a HUGE controversy with many people including famous Korean celebrities getting involved. So that's what those lyrics are about. This song is all about loneliness, sadness, anxiety, and how the members of twice and once are there for one another. Mina, the girl in the white dress, surrounded by green lights was also on a hiatus due to anxiety at this time. She only recently has returned, so the song and her lyrics were about that. Some smaller details, tzuzu being in a dollhouse as a doll literally symbolizes how she often feels like a doll because everyone always talks about her looks and not her talents as an artist. Jihyo surrounded by the computer screens represents all the mean comments and bullying she goes though online. Dahyun walking through the rain surrounded by black umbrellas while her umbrella represents their official light stick. This symbolizes once protecting twice from all the negative comments they receive. Once being the name of the fandom.
After reading your comment, I suddenly remembered that Dahyun (Dubu) had a similar kind of controversy from wearing a shirt to support comfort women (you can google it). It made me think that the rain is like the comments people are still making and that the scene between Sana and Dabu reflects their understanding of each other due to their similar circumstances, except Dubu has had more time to get over it so she's able to walk comfortably with an umbrella in the rain. Now she is going to help Sana. Love all the little easter eggs in this MV!
I’m new to Twice and didn’t know about any of this. My heart hurts reading that, especially about Sana because she seems like a total sweetheart.. they all do! Don’t understand how anyone could direct hate to them.

I am sure someone else has already commented this but here we go! This mini album is the one the members have worked on the most with producers and the head of their company JYP. The title track Feel Special is a song to eachother because of the ongoings of the last year (when it was created) and even some things that went of before that. With Mina being on a semi-hiatus becasue of anxiety, the hate Sana and Jihyo were getting, Chaeyoung's leaked photo taken outside her house, ect. I am probably missing a few and may have my timeline mixed up. The point being this is a song that for them says and means 'yeah there have been some pretty dark times and will be in the future but as long as we have eachother we will be okay.' And it was so important that Mina partisipated because for them and all of us Once's Twice is 9 members, 10 if you count Once. At the time of it's releace Twice members were going through a rough time and along with that so were Once's. They dropped the mini album and although Feel Special is more of a song to each other I think it is song number 6 on the tracklist, the song being titled '21:29' is their song to Once. I haven't read the entirety of the translated lyrics but I know all the members wrote their own lines. The song starts our "This is for you... You're my dream...." then in Korean "How can I convey this overflowing heart". I could be wrong but I am pretty sure the pronunciation of the title is Twice, Once : Twice will always be Nine. I absolutely love their. they all have amazing personalities and uncomparable talent. I'd suggest you look into more of their music if you have the time.

Yay, I love this song! I haven't heard all of Twice's songs, as they have way too many of them to really get through them all, even though they only debuted 4 years ago, but this is definitely one of the best songs they've done.
Also, can you do "Surrender" by FAKY please? It's a few years old now and one of the members who took part in that song has left the band and been replaced since then, but it's so good. I know they technically consider themselves J-pop, but I feel like that song would fit right at home in the UK charts if it was released here.

Momo and Tzuyu are the main & lead dancers of the group. Sana and Mina are sub vocals. Dahyun and Chaeyoung are the lead and main rappers. Jihyo is the leader of entire the group. They spoke to JYP about their emotions surrounding their career, fame, and fans and the pressure they felt so JYP took what they said and wrote it into this song. Really it’s about them supporting and encouraging each and their fans giving them strength.
