A tip for this fight is to use the serpent armor which gives nearly limitless stamina recharge in water and also heals 40% of your hp slowly when its down to critical. The blood counts as water. Combine that with the Thrusting stance. Thrusting stance has a massive range so when you get those focus points you can be pretty safe with a 20 foot pole attack instead of having to be close or wait on the pillar like your stance..
