1 real curious question here.... is there really any real differance's in the aspen's & the volare's 2 door cars other then 1 says dodgle & other says plymouth body wise they r the same & mechanicly they r as well too right does on or the other hold better value or price...... i seen a wagon on on a 4x4 frame & on the street going onto the hi-way..... it was for sale but never caught up to it to talk or get the #........... is there web site esp., for these sort of cool n yet differant ride where we can catch them up for sale & not pay out the nose...........lol...??
They are in fact the same in every way. Tail lights and that’s about it. Fenders, doors, quarters...etc. are the same. They are “F” bodies. There is a forum and a Facebook group dedicated to them. Search on Google and on FB. If you can’t find it holler and I’ll hook you up. As for value...they don’t bring what the Cuda or Charger will but they are fun to own!
Brian- I noticed you mentioned that you put summit racing ceramic coated headers on the car. I've got a '78 Aspen R/T and I'm looking to put headers on it. Which headers did you buy, how'd they fit (Did you have to disconnect any steering linkages or something like that), and how much ground clearance did they have? I'd love to get your input before I put any money into it.
Yes, the headers I used captured the drivers side steering linkage. Also required the removal of the rear stud to clear the brake booster. They worked great. I’ll have to look for the model number. I should have it in my build file. If so I’ll reply here with it.
With that much power, we're you able to overcome the weak K member these cars were known for? Bought a new Aspen R/T in 1976 with a 318 4 speed and can't count how many times the K member broke. Not dissing the car at all. Just curious if you experienced that problem and what approach you took to solve it. Still kicking myself in the butt for letting it go all these years later.

I never had any trouble with the K-member at all. It was blasted and re welded before being installed with Poly bushings. It was a treat to own 😎
