The year may say 1991, yet the music landscape was still in the 80s (in their last hurrah, quite similar to 1989-90). Later in the year the music landscape will change as well as the way Billboard would do the charts by going the digital soundscan route and by summer of '92 into '93 the sounds of the 90s will come into its own (in my opinion). Many of these didn't age well, yet they were fun and great memories overall. 😀

I love so many of these songs, all of them have a lot of memories. However so many of them have been dated by the terrible gated reverb drum sound. Nothing dates sound more than that
@@cede2317 How can such a great song just peak at number 7? While the crap of madonna (I love most of her songs but Justify my love is so bad) comes at number 1, that's why I like European music lists better than American ones
The lady in the Everybody Dance Now vodeo is not really the singer. The real singer is Martha Wash. The producers thought a fat woman would not sell records. Yes Martha Wash was heavy set . So they hired a skinny lady to lip sync. Martha is one half of the duo the weather girls. Most famous for its raining men. Oh but they did it to hear again in 1987 1988 a British House group Black box had 3 big hits in the UK and US. But it was Martha Wash singer but a hire pretty skinny black women lip syncing in the music videos. And now we have Lizzo . Call bless the beautiful big black women that can sing.
I believe Martha also sung Seduction's "(You're My One And Only) True Love" as well. I know there was a belief that Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam" was sung by Felly as appeared in the music video, but Ya Kid K actually sung it. They didn't try to cover that up as at the concerts, everyone saw Ya Kid K singing it.
The Rembrandt’s charted before the Friends theme !

@@TheLionTheLambRom1221 The 80s is a dated mess of garbage. The 90s, once it got past that dated 80s mess, managed to find its own
So many artists like Wilson Phillips, George Michael, and Heart had multiple songs in the top 100 at the same time
It’s amazing how music can take you back to such a specific time in your life and flood you with memories!
Great 😃👍 Memories from 32 years ago. WOW Time is Flying by with the Quickness PERIOD.
Londonbeat merece un mejor lugar en el recuento. Sobrevive aún en estos tiempos
Oh my God I loved pebbles, I was enamored with her
So many old favorites!
I'd just moved into my new apartment in my hometown. Starting out as an adult, full of hope and dreams.

Still sound like 80 s
The 90s sounds didn't come into its own until around summer of '92 IMO.
New jack Swing from that era is definitely 90s
In the Netherlands at this time we had Seals Crazy at number one, it isn't even in this list yet lol.
It peaked at number 7 but in September

When all the hard rock/metal bands only charted with their ballads.
In a few months, everything would soon change......
Yeah, grunge takes over, then nu metal ruled the rest of the 1990s.
Naw R&B started to take over and then hip hop in the rest of the 90s
