  • Today we announce the ultimate model of one of the most iconic tank locomotives of them all, the GWR 57xx, 67xx and 8750 Class Pannier Tanks!
    Inside the model, you will find our powerful coreless motor suitably geared to allow the pannier to perform just like the real thing. There is the usual twin LED firebox flicker arrangement and a pair of sugar cube speakers for authentic sound reproduction on DCC sound fitted models. The DCC decoder is accessed through a magnetically removable smokebox door and pull-out board for trouble free decoder fitting.
    It is anticipated that the locomotives will arrive in stock in Q1, 2025. Our Pannier Tanks are priced at £139.95 for DC/DCC Ready models, and £239.95 for DCC Sound Fitted models.
    Locomotives can be pre-ordered via our website for no money down or via monthly instalments at no extra cost, or via our network of local stockists.
    Look our for a further announcement of an “Accurascale Exclusive” model in the coming months. 😉🤭

    You should also make the 2721 class, which is basically the same as the 57xx but with minor detail differences and an open cab, it would definitely complete the ‘family’ of locos

    You will never please all of the people all of the time, but thanks for producing models that are at a good price, full of detail & that run well.

    Great looking loco, the last time a had a Pannier tank it was a Hornby model, looks like Accurascale are going down the steam route at the moment, lets hope we see an A4 or a W1 hush hush or a 9F, maybe a City of Truro which would have my full and divided attention.

      @neilharbott8394 8 місяців тому +1

      I've noticed that most of the new tooling models, by the newer manufacturers tend to be of locomotives in preservation, where you can see the end result, and have something physical to measure. There does not seem to be much in the way of supporting documentation or engineers drawings of the older Dean designed locomotives. Not saying that I wouldn't like to see some of the early examples of what became a ubiquitous sight on most of the GWR branch lines and shunting yards, but I understand the desire to model something that can still be seen somewhere today. But there's always hope that we'll see a pannier tank tooling, that maybe has the option of a saddle tank as built new somewhere in the range! 🙂

      @@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway yes, but at the same time wouldn’t it be nice to see something that hasn’t been made? I think Hornby’s pricing is ridiculous, but their models still work, and if you shop around, you can find some for a good price (there is one on Hattons right now for £188 brand new). Accurascale need to focus on giving us something new, and not just give us something we already have. I think these panniers were a good choice, as the only other option is the overpriced, ancient Bachmann one, but then there are models like the 37, 56, 31, 55, Manor, Mrk1s (etc.) that we really don’t need on the market, as other companies already have us covered.

    @grim-up-north2951 8 місяців тому

    All sounds very exciting, but there are so many prototypes missing from the RTR market that trying to bite the heals of other manufacturers with minor detail differences which the majority of modelers don't care about seems like a fruitless venture. The LNER modelers must be on the verge of an uprising, as I've pointed out countless times on various forums etc, the LNER being the largest of the big four had many more prototype locomotives. So when pools are open for voting, most of the pre-grouping types never make it far up the list. A6, A7, A8, nine GCR "B" classes and three NER. C class atlantics, twenty three "D" classes, eight "E" classification, the rest of the list will take an hour to type up. There's a reason we don't see so many LNER layouts at shows, because there's so much missing from the market. You only have to look at the LNER second hand trade, items seem to sell out so fast and command high prices.
    Please Accurascale, stop using proven marketing methods which don't really work for the second largest hobby in the UK. There's already six pannier types in circulation.

      @@blackjockofmangertonpelegranted this will allow Accurascale a lot of utility, being a large group of locos with many permutations. I understand that, but with a market full of panniers already will this gain enough traction? These do look to be a cut above what is out there at the moment I agree though.
      As for the Manor would a Grange have sold any less well? There's a lot of locomotive duplication that seems odd when other prototypes are neglected or have very, very old models, crying out for an update!

      The versions already on the market are almost 20 year old tooling, they generally don't lend well to DCC conversion, and you have to hunt the bargain bins and hope for one that runs! Also, this is a model that has great utility for anyone modelling GWR/BR(W) as they were so numerous there's likely a larger customer base than there would be for the more obscure locomotives that could have been chosen. And as someone who is trying to build up a typical running of locomotives for my Western Region model railway, I have been waiting for something like this. I think this is filling a current hole in the highly detailed model market.
