Absolutely agree. I rescued a 76 280z out of a junkyard back in 2019 and spent 2 years getting the car back to drivable condition. When I first got the car running, all it had was the downpipe and although it was loud, it had that magical tone.
the 240z was an underdog racing against well established and developed teams like porsche and ford. I want to make a tribute car to the #1 car that won the EAS rally in 1973. I would do the #11 car from 71, but we don't have many right hand drive z cars in america.
I am here after a sudden feeling of nostalgia from my childhood. I remembered that I had a battery powered toy car made by a local company called Estrela (Star toys) and I always wanted to know which model they used to make the toy. it was a Datsun 240z rally version just like this one. like, EXACTLY like this... and my heart ached when an accident appeared at 2:56 but it was the price you pay when the boldness to push the limits beyond its capacity and far beyond security but that was exactly the reason these gentlemen left their normal lives and made the most of their freedom even if that it means flirting with death. but that was exactly why there was so much uproar around these sporting events. it was more than just a sport it was a challenge against the boredom that we surrender today in name of a safety lifeless life.
The sound of that straight six engine is pure music.

It makes a nice change to see all this footage of Datsun 240Z's. If went to an Historic rally all you would see is bloody Escorts.
