Yes. Garlic outside, onions inside. I'll be soil blocking this afternoon and planting seeds. 🎉🎉🎉
This will be my first year working with Bootstrap gardening gear...you convinced me! The garden is currently under 1ft of snow here in Canada, but I will be starting lettuce seeds soon so they'll be decent sized when planted out and we can harvest indoors for the time being 😊 Beyond excited to tune in to your garden adventures for the 4th year in a row! Keep shining, lady! You've changed my life!💗 Sending love, Jess aka @thenorthhillgardener
I’m finally getting to start a garden this year! I live in an apartment with poor sun on the patio, but moved to help take care of my sick grandfather. He was a Master Gardener before his health declined, and he is just as excited as I am to get to garden! He hasn’t been able to for about ten years due to his sight and mobility, so I am going to be his eyes and hands. We are doing his favorite tomatoes (black from Tulas- he says they are life changing) amongst many other of his fav plants, and we are getting some replacement trees from the Master Gardner sale next week for the ones he lost during some severe weather a few years ago.
I’m so excited to get to learn from him before he passes. Gardening, chickens, and the accordion are the biggest things I associate with him and I’m very glad we will have this time together before he passes. My grandmother passed in 2015 and I haven’t seen him this excited about something since then. My husband and I even were able to fight back the 12 foot tall ragweed that ravaged the garden and saved my grandmother’s favorite rose bush. It was her baby and the stems are like 2.5 inches thick at the base.
Thank you so much for your gardening content, it has tided me over until now when I can finally garden. Growing up with a garden, I have missed it desperately.
That will be so special to do together!!! Wishing you guys a great gardening season!
@ thank you! He likely only has a few months left, and I’m very happy to get to spend the last year or so of his life with him.
What a wonderful heritage he gets to share with you. I hope he gets to see your garden in its prime and enjoy a few black from Tulas before it’s his time.
So excited for you to be getting paid promotions!!! I feel like you’ve been promoting them for awhile for free!! Now it’s paid whooohooo!! Happy for you!!

I am 9a in the UK and have already started my onions, money maker tomatoes, peppers, foxglove flowers as well as dalihas. They are all on my windowsill germinating away
My new grow tent arrives tomorrow. I’m so excited to get this growing season started.
I would love to see your indoor growing set up.
Bre I also start seedlings in the basement and carrying the trays upstairs is little difficult and dangerous.
My tip ; Take a cloth grocery bag cutting the sides off discard the fabric of the sides, Now unfold the bag onto the floor, Laid a seed tray onto the bag , simply pick up the handle letting the tray be supported by the bag you should easily pick up the bag holding the handle have your other hand to hold on the stair handrail and being safe. Please do a short video so people will be little safer going upstairs and down stairs during the garden season.
I've a tiny cold frame and plan to keep salad greens coming every few weeks
Thanks
🙌🙌 Let the fun begin!
😊
Yes!!
It's my first time being first on any video 🔥🔥 love your vids btw 🥰
Thanks for watching!!
I am watching this as put together a new seed start shelf unit and starting seedsas well
How exciting! Thanks for watching!
I already started my onion & pepper seeds! The following days i‘ll get my cool westher crops started 🤩 i‘m so excited
Hello from Ohio!! I’ve never seed started indoors before (usually I direct sow outside or buy plants) but I’m thinking about trying this year. Herbs are my favorite so I might try them out and maybe a few other veggies too. 🪴Thank you so much for your videos- really, you’re inspiring! 🤗
I like to grow 2 lettuce plants in my basement seed starting room in a hydroponic set up at all times so I can pick off of them year round. So I will start 2 new ones pretty much monthly.
I started my onions from seed yesterday, 60 walla walla and 60 red.
I've started some perennials (Echinacea, Foxglove) and some herbs and annuals that grow slowly like eucalyptus and White Sage. Just started super hot pepper seeds 3 days ago (later than last year, though), too. In zone 5a Iowa.
I'm so jealous! I'm in zone 6a high desert. Our last frost date is June 10th!! Think I'm going to be bold and start seeds now anyway. I can always replant if it stays too cold, or pot up.
Always enjoy your videos and learn from your content. Do you soil block some veg and use cells for others? Which ones and why?
I’m going to regrow some Morning Glory this. I didn’t really plan it out last year
I have those same galvanized steel beds that I'll be putting out this year. How do you protect your plants from high winds? Do you find the plants do ok in the wind or do you have any covers or anything like that to help?
When do you plan on planting your luffas? I just want to make sure I plant them around the same time.❤
Those soil blocks looking like brownies 😂
Hi Bre, thank you for sharing! We are looking to begin starting our seeds. Can you share where you get your seeds from?
I get them from all over. My go too lately have been High Mowing Organics, Johnnys, Renees Garden, and Botanical Interest
Thank you!
Hi Bre from New Jersey. really enjoy. watching your channel. Do you use boiled water on your starting mix? and do you sift your soil? I found sifting the soil really makes a difference.
Hi. Do you ever have any issues with fungus gnats? If so, how do you fix it? Thanks!
After you plant your seeds, cover with about 1/8 " sand ( just plain ole play sand from hardware store ). Don't worry, your seedlings will make it through the sand. Fungus gnats don't like sand. Keep it moist.
@@mike-g6g3g Thanks SO much! Topping with perlite was recommended, but they’re still swarming. I’ll try the sand!
What kind of seed starting mix do you use? I have never gotten and I usually have 200 seedlings in my living room
@@hmartin751 First year gardening. I started with a big bag of local organic soil and then switched to Back to the Roots organic 3 in 1 soil.
@@theovabz oh ok I only use miracle grow indoor seed starting stuff for seedlings then I use a potting mix if I need to repot before they go out, then when they go out into my raised beds I use compost and raised bed potting soil mix. Good luck!
How do you keep varmints from eating your corn ?
Is there anything you can do to prevent your onions from getting that black mold that they did last year? 😟 that was so sad.
How do you avoid fungus gnats indoors??
Ends up happening every year but I tend to put out a few sticky traps and that tends to do the trick. If it doesn't in the past I've used a product from dr earth organics for indoor house plants and it helps target fungus gnats
I have never gotten gnats
