Thx for trying. I have two EVs. The GM will get the adapter first and I was wondering what they were going to do to keep me from using my GM adapter with my other car, or other people from just going onto the Ford parts site and getting them one to use. Now we know. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching.
My Mach-E downloaded a certificate via OTA update which enabled Supercharging. Now the problem is that I’ve got no adapter. One C2C podcast topic for the next show would be how these official adapters will be allocated. If Ford has first dibs, how can Rivian and GM owners get them ahead of Ford owners who have ETA dates as late as October for official adapters?
Hey Ted! Fords have been getting software updates to enable charging on Superchargers. I bet Volvo and Polestar aren’t far behind. Once your Polestar 2 gets an Tesla-specific update, that’ll be the real test to see if the A2Z adapter works. Alternatively, find a friend with a Lightning or Mach-E who got the software update and visit the Supercharger with your adapter.
I was hoping to get a friend to test it out on her F150, but it poured rain the day we were going to meet up. I have seen Mach-E Vlog test it out, and it worked fine on their Mach-E.
@@EVAwesome-yj2um someone said that the Tesla Terms & Conditions officially prohibit the use of 3pty adapters. I don’t know if there’s any sort of adapter authentication going on. Instead, I think the adapter is a straight passthru and we all need to rely on its quality to ensure nothing goes sideways. Could be interesting times at Superchargers ahead!
Tesla confirmed that GM, Volvo/Polestar, and Rivian are next and will have access this spring. But until then, No. Tesla is an energy company first, and technology second, (vehicles are actually third) so they're not going to be fooled.

How is it "fooling"? They wanna sell (really expensive) electricity and I wanna buy some. Just like a gas station.
