Sujit Lakade missed Kolhapuri Misal Pav when he moved to Bengaluru a few years ago. In this he saw an opportunity to showcase to Bengaluru the village rendition of this quintessential Maharashtrian street food staple, an approach that conveys delicious, spicy flavours with minimal fuss. And so Gavran Misal was born, with ingredients sourced from Kolhapur, given his family’s lineage in the food grains business. Here, the tari, the spicy rasa (gravy) at the heart of the dish, is cooked over a wood fire, thereby also imbuing this modest eatery, with a rustic smokey appeal, where regulars wolf down the misal pav and vada pav, the only two items served here in addition to kokum and taak (buttermilk) to wash things down.
If you’re looking to savour some authentic rural flavours, head here. Hope you enjoy this episode. Take care; stay safe and strong. Happy eating!

Great place to indulge in Misal if you are a Misal connoisseur as they serve very authentic Misal cooked village style on wood fire and that smoke elevates the ambience and takes you straight to your grandmother’s kitchen in the village😊and that Ladi pav which has a proper sour dough taste and a tinge of sourness and depth of flavours and am sure that’s baked in wood fire oven too. All in all a great place to satisfy that Maharashtrian Misal craving👌🏻😃😃

Good morning dear Kripal- Looking forward to this interesting Maharashtrian cuisine Vlog . It’s one of my favourite 😋😋 Instant like for the episode the moment I saw the title 👍 Gavrang style of Misal preparation is truly authentic 👌Wow that’s a language ( Marathi) that’s music to my years 👍 As usual you score a 💯 in terms of your spoken Marathi 👏🏼👏🏼 Wonderful to watch ob detail about all the ingredients that goes into making of their dishes 👍 Nothing like a kitchen tour especially when you extract some much information and also share your experience with the owners and staff 👍 The Rasa along with the floating spicy Tari is drool-worthy 😋 Misal indeed could be prepared in multiple styles 👍 It has to be a Ladhi Pav and not a sweet bun 😀 The Vada Pav batter is certainly thicker as compared to a regular VP batter that we observed in Mumbai . The Pav is also relatively larger in size . I am 100% sure this evening I will have a Spicy Vada Pav and a Spicy Misal 😋 Wow that’s an awesome looking VP and so glad you enjoyed the VP . A VP without a bite or green chilli is like doing injustice to the VP 😀 The Misal and the spicy Tari looks super yummy 🤤 A classic way to enjoy the Misal is to empty the bowl of Misal on to the plate , top it with some onions , add a bit of Tari and a dash of lime . I am already enjoying the taste looking at you relish the Misal 😀 The fact that you polished off the entire bowl of Misal is a testament to their quality 👌👌 I was just wondering why you didn’t have some Solkadi- that’s an ideal drink to help digest and sooth your stomach from the fiery assault from the Misal and VP . Thoroughly ( understated word ) enjoyed each and every moment of this Vlog . This is simply fabulous dear Kripal . Thanks bunch to you and FL team for dishing out this Vlog 👍👍 Take care , Stay safe and much love and respect 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Hello kripal sir, good afternoon.
I have been watching your every video since last 3 yrs. I just like the way you describe food and the culture related to it.
Due to your videos, I created a list of restaurants, you showed in your videos, to visit.
As per me, You have covered many of kannada, andhra and tamil cuisines till now.
Since you lived in mumbai for a decade or two, wish to see you covering maharashtrian food too, as you will find a lot of variety in maharashtrian food.... I think, you will never find this much variety of food in any of the states in india....
Hope to see you eating our cuisines.
Happy Eating. Stay safe and healthy.

    Hi Kripal sir,
We visited Gavran misal today. We actually had visited there couple of years back but didn't get chance to revisit again. Only after watching your video on UA-cam we rediscovered the eatery. To our surprise it was very crowded and we waited almost 10 mins to get the table. We asked the owner as well and he said it's all Kripal Amanna's effect😁
Thanks for making such videos and making us go off swiggy and discover some amazing eateries.

@Kripal sir I liked the way the owner has tried to create the village like atmosphere to savour the yummy misal pav... Appreciate the way he is concentrating on limited dishes as it would be easy for him to manage quality with good service as I saw the way the tarri was being cooked it was quite tempting..This place is close by so will definitely visit for that healthy misal pav as personally Marathi cuisine is very healthy dut to the usage of various sprouts closer to our north Karnataka one... Waiting for weekend to watch your return trip on your motovlog

Fantastic that the owner has really researched and knows his specialist trade . 🏆🏆🏆
Not sure that selling such a limited menu is economically sensible unless your overheads like wages and property rent etc are extremely low because few people want to eat the same food everyday.
As those customers said " we come once a week"
But .... the 2 dishes looked amazing 😀😀😀
