    as a medical professional, I gotta say that being humble enough to always be learning is such a underrated skill. Always try and be better, if you're not innovating yourself then you are dead in the water

    This is a great video. Thank you.
    Gage's "high voltage" and intensity make him truly one of a kind, there's no one like him imo.

      DDR in Kent, the big fellow that owns it can train a dog, I'm interested to see how he deals with the e collar ban in February he's a heavy e collar user
      Gonna have to go back to a long line a choke chain really gonna change things

    This is what's wrong with so-called protection training. The dogs are trained to go after their toy, the bite sleeve, and not the decoy/ helper. The dogs will score high points in IGP competitions, which impresses a lot of people; but in real life threatening situations, the dog will perform poorly. How often have you seen a dog wagging its tail after he got his bite sleeve reward? That's not real protection as the dog is only playing. Even the US military and police train their dogs to go after the bite sleeve and not the bad guy. In the real world, the bad guy will evade, kick, punch, stab and shoot your dog and not offer his arm with a bite suit to be bitten. Train your dogs to do a real fight by simulating what a bad guy will do to your dog and your family. To date, I've only seen two trainings that train dogs in REAL protection and not to score high in dog sport. One is the Israel IDF and the second one is a UK based company, DDR K9 Protection. In the Israel IDF, the dog constantly checks his surroundings for any threat and not waltz while heeling with his handler as seen in your video with Stefan, IGP and WUSV competitions.

      You are spot on. I train with a man who actually trains our dogs in defense first with ZERO equipment at the start. One of the few that actually understands what happens when these equipment oriented dogs get actual pressure. They will always go for equipment when it is there. Once u set default on equipment it’s almost impossible to fix.

      Who is this individual that thinks there a better trainer than the legendary stefan schaub
      Can we see some credentials on ur achievements in the dog world so we know how much weight to give ur opinion
      Legendary helper/decoy trainer and breeder of some of the best German shepherds in recent years I'm sure stefan knows the difference between sport training and genuine personal protection work ffs people

      @lison1273 Рік тому

      Yes, I am a pet owner. I have a service dog she’s a seeing-eye dog. I still don’t understand what that has to do with barking so much please explain.

    • @alexajordan8610
      @alexajordan8610 Рік тому +2

      @@lison1273 You said it right there. You are a PET owner. NOT a working dog owner. You have a seeing eye dog? Not in the same category. These dogs are being trained for protection . You dont understand the 'arousal' the dog has when he is in this state of mind and what the trainers want. I dont mean arousal in a nasty way either. The barking drives YOU crazy. It does not drive these people crazy because THEY understand it.
