Great series "kids" That last ice burg is just amazing! Blue stripes are the most common. These appear when crevices are filled with water that freezes so quickly that bubbles in the ice don't have time to appear. Green lines occur when the water filled with algae is quickly frozen.
“Which tastes like wood stain” I don’t know why that felt like the most accurate thing I’ve heard all year. I’ve never had it but it looks like it would taste exactly like that.
Nature always shows amazing artistry. It's everywhere and is not usually shown in enough detail. Your drone shots did a wonderful job of showing these awesome details. The cloudy skies and low light really allowed the details to pop. Amanda is such a trooper.
Always the teacher. That's probably one of the best things about this channel and now there's a dedicated channel for us to learn more. Thanks man. Truly appreciated.
I just thought of a strange photographic topic. You might be able to work it into a funny sketch. “I wonder if the cops that take the photos of crime scenes, look for a good composition?” 😂😂😂 Bordering on weird. Maybe invite one out to a photo shoot! 😂
Those icebergs were so impressive. Can never have too many of them!! Great images of them and love the church and cottage image too. What an amazing place (except the howling wind and sideways rain!!) Thanks for taking us on your journey
I think this last video on ice bergs is the icing on the cake Gavin, the drone shots of the last one are really epic, can,t wait what you both will be up to on your next adventure.
As a Newfoundlander living away, you have beautifully captured my beloved island. Thank you for that. And I hope you had fun, despite the weather! It was WAY warmer and sunnier when I was visiting the last of July, beginning of August. Come back again sometime during those months!
Smashing video. That last image of the iceberg was really epic! Its always great to see the excitement in people when they are photographing something wonderful like this! Cheers!
I used to work in the falklands on a sheep farm and did quite a bit of peat cutting as it was used for cooking and heating bloody hard work but i loved it
Love that last iceberg. It had some really nice deep blue stripes of clear ice layered through it. Nice final berg shot, and no sky replacement needed!😉
Yes, I enjoyed your video as it brought back memmories of our trip to Newfoundland. Although, we never saw any icebergs, the weather was much nicer and we didn`t have to wear parkas.
Oooohhh.....that last IceCube was gorgeouse. Heart in my mouth....it felt that your drone was mighty close to an impact..... Wonderful shots...Loved the colour of the underwater ice. 👍
Wow, you got away with fantastic images of these icebergs. Glad that you took the opportunity to grab some not-that-much-of-a-landscape-photo images in the village. I really like, the processed version of the two houses. Now over to your new channel … cheers.😊
I photograph with panasoic and then with micro four thirth yeah sometimes a big job but fu and if you understand the system then it is certainly worth it, handheld is perhaps the best with this system and its stabilization, in good light. only with heavy filters a tripod is still necessary and of course a constant composition framing.
Beautiful . I was at Lanse aux Meadows and really enjoyed it. It was during a warm July though . Lol I love watching you and your wife on your travels.
Hi Gavin, if you take off as close to sea level as you can i.e. on the beach. You can then use the high indictor ( bottom left corner ) to gauge how low you are to the sea. You will then know how low you can go

Do any of your books have Newfoundland shots in them?
@@LifeOfNigh Nope. This visit happened after the book was made. But maybe in my third book ;)
All the Viking buildings are naturally replicas, since no wooden structures can survive for more than a few hundred years in ideal conditions.
That old man popping out in the background to watch Amanda like he's from the Ministry of Silly Walks. 🤣
He approved.
Amanda is such a treasure. If you're into a funny a woman. Love you both!
Wow I had flashbacks when she held up that bottle of rum. Yes, yes, I've been screeched in at Trapper John's.
Oh man Gavin-that last berg….epic! And your excitement was fabulous. I can totally relate! Keep up the good work.
I learn and laugh every time I watch. Love your channel! I've subscribed to both! Keep 'em coming!
Amanda's mall walk! I think I nay have cracked a rib laughing so hard. 🤣😂🤣
Mika is a cute dog for sure, hands down no questions asked.

Epic icebergs and comedy sketches with Amanda!
A bit of that last iceberg broke off mid-way through your pano! Great use of the drone.
That iceberg shot at the end looks like 2 battleships approaching the camera. Epic!

Epic trip ending with an epic photo. Love the colours in the ice, sea and clouds. Stunning 🙌🙌
Love the last ice berg, and the sky is wonderful
WOW !!! Terrific drone footage. Best view ever of NL's icebergs.

4:13 as usual, great video! And that soundtrack is just perfect, especially in such context 👍🤓👍
Another interesting video. Icebergs size intrigue me as much as their beauty does. They are truly majestic.
In a word...........WOW !!!
Smashing video. That last image of the iceberg was really epic! Its always great to see the excitement in people when they are photographing something wonderful like this!
Cheers!
Some amazing icebergs! Wow.
Love and look forward to all your videos. Funny & Educational with breathtaking landscape. You and Amanda are tops
The black lines in the Ice are most likely ash from eruptions in Iceland, but then again you probably learned that when visiting last summer.
You folks are really funny. Great pics too.
Oh the contoured features of that final iceberg were absolutely stunning, amazing work 😊
Some really great shots Gavin!
What a treat that last iceberg was! Great finish to the instalment of icebergs! Love the drone footage
These icebergs are absolutely stunning, especially the last beast 😮
That was the best iceberg so far. Epic clouds too. Screech Rum 😂 sounds yummy 😳
The last ‘berg, epic clouds and and epic shot. Just awesome.
Impressive! Thank you.
Oh dear God, I was one day late viewing your video. No wonder my Monday was all out of sorts. Always great to watch and now my world is right now ☺️
Those icebergs are so cool, there natural sculptures of art, and that sky on the last iceberg was magnifiequa 👍👍😍
I used to work in the falklands on a sheep farm and did quite a bit of peat cutting as it was used for cooking and heating bloody hard work but i loved it
Hi Gavin, I for one love the iceberg shots...Thank you. Colin Devon UK
Love that last iceberg. It had some really nice deep blue stripes of clear ice layered through it. Nice final berg shot, and no sky replacement needed!😉
Nice video guys .
Love it when Amanda does her silly walk .
Thanks for taking us all along on your adventures oop north .

You would look awesome in Viking attire.
I love icebergs! Each is so unique. Can't wait to see the iceland videos. 😀
Great drone maneuvers my friend. 👌👌
I wanted you to fly the drone through that hole so bad. I don't know if I could've resisted the urge to. 😂
I was very tempted but I had no idea how big the hole was without anything for scale.
As a new drone pilot, I am really enjoyed your drone images and videos. Keep doing more.
The "steam zone" could side track some good photography time. 😜
Come to Portugal, the best weather ever and as photogenic as you ever wished 😁
Do you have accommodations?
@@fototripper i have a couch and a lot of floor 😜
brilliant, that last berg was amazing,
Wonderful. Thank you! So intertaining and great photography to boot. Loved the beat drop at the end!
Loved the whole series, what a finish. I've also subscribed to your new channel too.
I remember that Iceberg! Still trying to forget that weather though 🤣
I can't believe you managed another week there in those conditions.
@@fototripper "managed" is generous haha
That last iceberg was super delicious!!
If ever there was a title for this series of iceberg themed videos it's definitely "Chasing Awe" 😉
Tell the tale of Gavin, the Iceberg King. Wonderful video.
Wow, amazing iceberg. Great video again
Great video, Thanks!!
Brilliant content as always, thank you.
That last photo looks like the hands of God. Great stuff!!
Oh my 😂 I laughed my ass off with that Madonna bit 😂 hilarious, I really needed to laugh, great video Gavin!
Oooohhh.....that last IceCube was gorgeouse. Heart in my mouth....it felt that your drone was mighty close to an impact..... Wonderful shots...Loved the colour of the underwater ice. 👍
YES our NFLD mermaid is back 😘

Epic, as per usual, Gavin !! Thank you..
Amazing last iceberg! I would say that the 3 week trip was a success. Great music during the iceberg videos. Keep the good work. Thanks!
Cracking berg shot at the end Gav.

Many of those small structures at L'Anse aux Meadows could be root cellars which are used a lot in Newfoundland. I could be wrong
"I didn't say stop." 😆🤣
Loved every second of this video.
Brilliant video...icebergs are so cool.😂😂😂
See you next time..😊😊
Hey Gavin … great video thanks ! Really enjoying you taking us in camera with the drone along with the usual camera shots. K - Christchurch NZ
As someone from these areas the best time is early June to early July. May is just usually miserable for weather.
Beautiful . I was at Lanse aux Meadows and really enjoyed it. It was during a warm July though . Lol I love watching you and your wife on your travels.

Yeah but more often than not I'm taking off much higher so it shows as - numbers.
Yeah don’t think I’d have the “jewels” to go much lower . What you need is someone else drone .
Dark Tickle is our favourite spot for everything partridgeberry! Hope you brought some jam home with you. Cheers.
Jesus Christ 😆😆😆Laughed my arse off at u 😜😜😆😆brilliant British comedy . Superb photography!!
What an interesting shape on that last iceberg and the hole, really amazing. You're making me want a drone. Gorgeous. Well done.
Really enjoyed this series 😊
Have to admit that I was waiting to see if you were going to fly through the hole in that beast! Epic images!
Amazing series!
Nice work again mate. Plenty of "warm" in Australia........
The composition tip was great. I must get a drone!
Your hair and beard look really nice Gavin!
Great vid Gavin and Amanda is as always great to watch in the background , that drone you use must be top of the pile with a fantastic lens
We are just back from scotland…, 14 ays Holiday, 12 days rain…, but still better thank the f…. Heat.
