It's good that Wolverine was able to prevent Scott / Cyclops from being killed. Same with all the other characters with extras, in all the previous X Men movies except First Class and some Origin Wolverine, from being killed, from what went in Days of Future Past.

I've seen ppl criticise the films for getting Cyclops' powers wrong since his optic blasts are meant to be concussive, not meant to generate heat like a laser. However, it seems like there are plenty of examples in the comics where his optic blasts *do* generate heat so perhaps he can do both. I hope that'll be the case in the MCU since I'm personally a big fan of powers having multiple uses/ applications - it would mean he's able to hit ppl with his blasts like a punch (i.e. w/out causing them burns/ severe injuries), but could also use them to burn things whenever he wants.

I want to see a version of Cyclops where the Xavier institute is built after his powers manifest, so on top of being a charismatic leader, and an incredibly powerful mutant, he also knows how to navigate blind. Also, wanna see a version of his visor that has an output dial on the side so he can better pull his punches, but he also uses it to pressure wash his car.

Interesting thing about Scott is that the blast isn't coming from his body. His eyes are a portal to another dimension and the beam travels through. So he can keep it up indefinitely. He can also weaken and strengthen the blast with his visor, and his strongest version doesn't even need it. He's also stated to be near genius level intellect, farm smarter then Logan. And because he's shooting from his eyes, his accuracy is godlike including his ability to deflect his blast off of objects to hit his target. I don't see anyway Logan stands a chance, how will he even get close? In the comics and movies even Magneto views Cyclops as a huge threat and usually contains him in some form or another.

I didn't mind the prequel version of Cyclops, mainly because I like Tye Sheridan as an actor... although I blame the script. He was easily the best character in Dark Phoenix despite how crappy the film was.

It's a concussive blast, not a laser. His eyes are the gateway to the punch dimension. When he closes his eyes it's just like closing a gate to different dimensions, so the blast doesn't even exist when he closes his eyes.

Underpowered him too for some reason. Goes from being able to blast apart rock with ease, to being unable to blast through wood, let alone metal.
