Glad to see Neuer doing a side hustle beside goalkeeping for Germany
Cool right
Great interview! Lots of good, actionable tips. I really liked the tip about studying the search terms from your traffic stats, to get ideas for new designs. Will be implementing that immediately! Cameron seems like a good guy and very easy to listen and relate to.
Thank you so much!
Yup... great tip... Cameron shared some good stuff in this one... glad you liked it
Awesome. I appreciate so much that you would share your knowledge with us. I feel very blessed to hear you both give us such valuable information.
Of course... happy to help
Thanks for sharing your experience and Juna thanks for helping as usual !
Any time! My pleasure
Great In Depth info, Guys! Thank you to Both of You! Brad Holmes
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great interview! You guys are killing it 🙌
Thanks Ryan... we actually did the interview on the same day as yours but it took me a while to get it uploaded
I am loving the interviews. I am admittedly afraid of the advertising side of POD, but think it's something I need to do in order to move forward.
Yup... if you are on Amazon it's very helpful
I'm going to join Merch Jar soon, right after the holidays. I've been breaking even with my ads, but I need to elevate it.
I know what you mean.... I need to elevate mine too
Tried to get on amazon and was declined. It would be great to see a video about how to increase your chances of being accepted to Merch by Amazon.
I'm not sure there is a way to do that... it seems like it's mostly luck
Thanks a lot for that content! One question: if a run a campaign on a new design and it sells through the campaign, do the sales make further sales more probable after I stop the campaign?
I could and probably will but there are no guarantees
That was a great one... thanks guys. Question: I have a trademarked brand and I want to know if I can apply for brand regristy if I exclusively sell Amazon Merch. Thanks :)
I think anyone can but I haven't tried it myself
Interesting idea to use place names for your merch. Loads of potential designs in there.
I am wondering, though... Would place names not go under some sort of copyright protection, especially if it's places that get a lot of tourists?
I think place names are pretty safe as long as you stay away from things like teams or other copyrighted things like that.... NO LA RAMS or Cincinnati Baseball, etc.
I'm saying this all the time, and this is why people are giving up as looking at the biggest sellers is very discouraging and seams unfair that lower tiers have not Ads options. Well I get that at T10 T25 or T100 but from T500 every account should be able to run them. Are you guys have some proven statistics or average guess what Tier should we expect the Ads invitation?
Thanks Guys!
I think it's T500 or so
if you haven't done one already could you do a video on how to scale designs? Cameron was talking about his database of US cities, but how do you use something like that to make thousands of designs. I know he's not creating them all individually.
I haven't done a video yet.... I do my scaled designs by hand one at a time....I still need to learn the automatic way and when I learn how to do it I will share it
@@DetourShirts Thanks that's what I want to know about is the automated tools. I just finished watching your video on 7 ways to increase designs. some good stuff there too.
I have a question please! If I find my "hero product" what are the next steps to scale that product or it's subniche to potentially increase sales. designs variatons with same keywords? run ads? and what besides this? thank you!
It depends on the hero product.... but try to think of ways to make it slightly different.... maybe for a different topic or different audience.... just changing the color is not enough
@@DetourShirts thank you!!
I’m running the lottery ads right now. Let see how it’s go!
Awesome... good luck
Hello Juna, Did you bought affinity Designer v2 yet? or not?
Yes... just bought it a few days ago
So I've tried a couple times to get onto MBA and haven't been accepted. Everyone on UA-cam makes it sound really easy. I have fairly successful teepublic and redbubble shops going and know the ins and outs of trends and making designs...any tips on getting through their review process?
It's not easy.... I would say it's more luck than anything else.... some get in and some don't.... I would wait until the new year to try again.... I believe that are not letting one in during December
me too! ive applied 4x and am a professional illustrator who has licensed my art for products for target and hot topic, so i obvi have some understanding of what sells (as it sounds like you do too). i also have 3 successful etsy stores and a bunch of POD shops, redbubble teepublic etc. it is seriously a mystery to me and honestly annoys me bc people with no design exp get on there no problem. i am not listing my accomplishments to brag, i am stating them to explain how insane it is that qualified people don't get in. yes im in the us, yes appropriate bank acct, etc..... I do the "guaranteed to get you in" approaches, and nope... i'm going to just keep applying and hopefully one day ... zzzzz - ive heard to just keep applying and you can eventually get in. let's hope!
@@P-Funk69 Sounds crazy, I have to wonder what their review variables are. Good luck to you! I'll have to just keep trying too, I guess. It's just a shame because a LOT of the real success I see with POD is through them, if you can just get on!
@@DetourShirts I'll have to find a little Buddha to rub.. 😛 thanks
@@P-Funk69 ... Amazon is the BIG LEAGUES... just gotta keep punchin away until they hear u knockin... don't give up... we'll see u on a Detour interview soon enuf...
Good Luck...
29:00 would amazon or any other POD penalize your designs or 'store' for stuffing keywords or using irrelevant keywords on a design for search...
I don't think so but they frown upon just a bunch of keywords separated by comas... they want real sentences.
@@DetourShirts ... thanks Detour... just thought that the 'algorithm' mite see that as trying to 'cheat' the system but hey... if it works I'm all in...
Ads is not that bad. I'm hard working and it ruins my physicals so I think if we can use money as same as tools it is fine.
I think the same way.... ads are a tool
Interview with someone who is successful with out ads and just being different, bc we all can't relate, bc I know people have spent thousands on ads a month and I can't afford that
I will do more interviews... I have a bunch of interviews on my channel but the same techniques apply with or without ads..... don't discount everything just because someone uses ads... ads only enhance sales... the designs still need to be good, they still need to be something people want to buy.
I would love to see an interview with someone who makes great sales without ads. We can’t all afford ads. I don’t need to make 100k in sales although that would be nice. But just up my game...without sales. I’m so sick of hearing all these people making tons of money but all of them use ads.
I'll try to find someone....Are you talking about Amazon or Print on Demand in general?
@@DetourShirts Merch specifically. I’m on a bunch of platforms but Merch is the one so many brag they make tons of money but they use ads. Obviously you can self promote for Redbubble and TeePublic and all those, but they don’t offer ads like Merch does. I make decent sales on Merch. Not like this, but I’m tier 500 and would be illegible to tier up if I fill my slots. I’m way past the sales needed. I have a “hero” niche that I stumbled upon a couple years ago that does it for me. Its not that scalable, so would love more incites into finding good niches on Merch without using ads OR paid services. I’m as low budget as you get! Lol. This is my side hustle. Like you, I have a full time job. Just looking for extra $$ to pay off my mortgage before retirement! #goals
@@gailalli8086 ... not to be rude buddy.. but Detour gives a ton of stuff away for free already on his channel and you STILL want MORE free stuff...
If you don't wanna reinvest a bit of your profits to generate more sales then just hover around where you are and be satisfied...
Next thing your gonna do is ask Detour to run your business for you... for free... c'mon dood...
@@DetourShirts ... I can not believe some people...
You kick ass Detour with all the gold you give away here FOR FREE... I know you get youtube ad money but it's well deserved...
It just grinds me when someone like yourself gives tons of QUALITY free content and then you have someone reacting as tho it's STILL not enuf...
Some people are just moochers and not even embarrassed about it...
@@cruzintheraw listen. He asks for suggestions and I have him a suggestion. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. I’m not asking for anything. If he wants to he will if not he won’t but he did answer me that he would see if he could. I have invested some of my profits in various things to help with my endeavor, but that’s not your business. Junk isn’t giving anything away for free. He has a great following in UA-cam as he should, and in return UA-cam pays him for that. I really hate when people think it’s their job to grift on others’ comments. If you don’t have something nice to say, or helpful, then keep it to yourself. We need to get back to that.
I know this video is about POD, but what is Cameron’s niche?
I believe he has a ton of different niches with 115,000 design up
