Man seeing the brutally honest emotions from wrenching on the car made my day lmaoo. Sucks that you got screwed over but it’s not everyday you see someone genuinely get pissed and still post the content
Evan Please Don't Use That Waterpump - I had one myself and blew it out during a drift day. It's sheet metal with shitty tac welds, it will fail. Buy a cast metal Waterpump instead! Hope this helps you and or anyone else doing the same.
@@kar2k Lol when I removed the Hepu pump mine, the turbine was in pieces and some in the block, I removed what I could 😔 It may be worth checking yours
@@mrsam5350 it was clean, we were confused because we thought the waterpump was weak due to how weak the stream was “peeing” out of the expansion tank, everything was fine the car just say down for too long. Trust me we were confused. No turbo or nothing just a stock car that i restored
First time I think I've seen Evan genuinely pissed off. And it's totally understandable just glad to know I'm not the only one who faces the same issues over and over 😭
Im glad you showed this, I feel like a lot of people give up or get disheartened because everyone on UA-cam or TikTok or instagram just shows it working and most of the time that’s not the case! Keep up the hard work!
I know it can be frustrating when things don’t go your way even but one of the reasons I’ve been watching you since 2015 is because of the way you take losses and work with what you got. Love everything you do, keep grinding on the bmw and it will be unlike anything. Praying for you bro
My anger could never. Let me tell you… i would’ve sent that fan and water pump FLYING. The car would’ve had a supercharger through the windshield… it would’ve just been chaotic.
Absolutely love seeing the raw side of you Evan. But what I love even more is seeing you use that anger and frustration to fuel you to get shit done. You're one of the good ones 💯🔥🤌🏽🤟🏽
When my clutch fan blew my whole cooling system and dented the hood I never reinstalled that garbage. Just the aux fan and I’ve been all good! When are you posting an update on this kit?!
Ive also never heard of these issues with vf kits. + the car isnt old enough for the mail in tune usually 98 or 99+ cars do an obd2 tunes from the email. Unsure if something changed Very odd.
HEY MAN!!! you closeing in on those 1 mil subs REAL QUICK!!!! Just wanted to say congrats! i still remember the good old lexus (toth patrol) or something :) God bless you
Oh man that water pump issue I know that s*** it didn't freeze up on the inside but it sure did shatter the outside and f****** the fan which caused my hood to get screwed up by the blades that broke off so I know the feeling a little smitching bit
7:06 you can even see its bent just from you holding it, And thanks for keeping the bad moments in the videos Evan, Really shows what a rollercoaster of emotions working on cars is, Keep on persisting you'll get there!
Definitely frustrating, but definitely shouldn’t have revved it once you noticed it still wobbling. Clutch fan is great but efan will work well for your purposes, just requires a little more work. And definitely a spacer issue there. Also, make sure you’ve done something with the DISA valve, either rebuilt or delete it to ensure the pin doesn’t fall out. Same with the plastic coolant hoses under the intake manifold. If you haven’t replaced them, they’re prone to cracking. You definitely still have BMW problems you can address, but every car has its quirks, people just point out the BMWs more often and act like BMWs are supposed to be bulletproof. For example, people complain about reinforcing the subframe mounting points on E36/E46 yet 240s also need subframes reinforced, they need diffs swapped to Z stuff, axles swapped to Z stuff, etc and yet for 240s no one makes a big deal about it.
I had a E36 that I put a lot of time energy effort and money into and it just kept acting like a b****. I ended up fixing it by selling that POS and buying another car another E36 and that one's been good to me lol
I'm probably wrong, but I'm guessing your water pump exploded because when the old tensioner got bottomed out, the pump became the weak point. The hydraulic tensioner probably has more resistance, so it can't bottom out & make your water pump the weak link again? My best guess at least. 😅
Damnn watching the video an see it break... just made me pist.... But thats the game..!! BTW how comes ur freaking views are so low... ive been watching ur vids for a few years and get my mind on this...
101% is ofcourse on the VF side, but god damn...even seeying, that the vibration at idle is HIIIIIGH, you are trying to rev it up? 😅 Listen to yourself sometimes.... you are maybe not the most experianced mechanic, but you are for sure gaining experiance. You will have still the same pump and fan, when you would just try to solve it right going to the first from the street machine shop to machine you new and coaxial adapter :)
Please help me understand your opinion on clutch fans being better than electric fans? Your comment about consistency doesn't make a lot of sense. Electric fans can be programmed to run a consistent CFM whereas clutch fans fluctuate with engine RPM.
E-fans draw a lot of current, they can vary a lot of with supply voltage, they are hard on the whole electrical system. Mechanical fans, being driven directly off the accessory drive have access to a lot more power without straining other components, and overall the flow(especially when you have the proper shroud for it) is a lot better, it only varies with RPM. That being said there are times when one makes sense to use one over the other and when done properly either is sufficient.
I disagree here - Modern fans CAN draw a decent amount of amperage but for this car, a basic electric fan is more than sufficient and will not even come close to straining the alternator. Far more reliable and efficient. @@digm0repaka
Shanks squad in this bih! Not many do it like LZ and Shanks long term growth and being realistic. Sucks cause shits not fuckin gold at the end of the pasture and the journey there is muddled with issues. Keep up man 🙏🏾
Why are you still running a clutch fan!? Thought you'd ditch it after the last one blew up but that would make too much sense I guess. Only automatic cars came with clutch fans, manuals had electric ones, especially if you're going forced induction. Instead of ditching the wrong setup you double down and UPGRADE the fan, putting even more strain on the water pump and are then surprised it blows up again!? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. But nah man, it's someone else's fault of course. Why take responsibility and make better informed decisions when you can continue being a petulant child and portray yourself as the victim. Get a clue.
Evan not to be rude but you keep Cheaping out on builds and always comes back to bite you , unfortunately now a days in UA-cam you have to build a car with the best and most expensive parts to be relevant .

2:34 try a Stewart water pump, definitely a sturdier unit than oem, bigger water impeller and better internal strength over oem

hey buddy don't worry about being mad or frustrated. You are 100% in the right being mad or upset it is very understandable.
Welp… boys.. stay away from VF. That spacer is not straight at all!! If they won’t take care of it, switch to e fans
So pissed for you man. Very fkin felt though🤣
Can relate to the getting my e46 wagon so close to running lol my 02 wagon having issues with getting fuel.
You need a stewert brand water pump. (Different design, flows more, race car pump everyone uses.)

Unclear why you wouldn't put electric fans on this thing... why would you put more drag on the motor?
Ive never seen a metal impeller waterpump break like that for anything other than a front end accident.
You breaking the water pump because that cnc piece is vibrating bad at higher rpms when the fan is on it causes the vibration to be even worse

100% cncd that wrong, the fan wobbling about ite causing the pump to skake it self to death
Is that water pump made out of chineseium or what cuz holy shit i didint expect it to break on first startup

Save yourself the headache and get rid of the BMW engine completely

Wtf you doing revving the car on cold start with a bunch of air bubbles in the system . that definitely user error u need Bmw training
Those coolant fillers release trapped air bubbles. Apparently you are the one that needs training lol.

stewart pump and a spal fan will fix you issues, never had an issue with that in my turbo car
