Han, it is so obvious Affie loves you. You are definitely doing all the right things with her, for her. It is a pleasure to watch all your progress. You are a true horsewoman.
Such improvement from earlier. Willing, eager to try. If she gets in really close, she is likely to make some mistakes. She's got the scope for 80, easily, but looked like she'd get close, pop up in front, but then not throw away the back end. More experience, she'll keep improving. She was clear on some of the large ones. As her form improves (and it will) she'll round better, and not have to try to get that back end up to clear. She's learned so much; it just takes time.
Honestly, to me, it went to plan! She was defiantly backing off and thinking about it more by the end of the 80 and hopefully in your next one she will be expecting it a bit more and you can carry on improving. Doesn't matter about the score when it's about the training for her... it will come. Bloody brilliant well done!
She was fine on the first course. She didn't refuse anything. So what Affie really needs is a lot more practice at the 80. She doesn't bring up her hind legs far enough to clear the fence and more riding at that height will improve her performance.
Amazing! Just wanted to say that I went competitg on my young horse (5yrs!) and did our first 80 and same thing happened! But i think with practise it will make all the difference! Well done! Its lovely that AFf is so keen!
She's going nice but she needs you to ask her bigger question it will encourage her to listern to you more and She's got so much potential you have all winter to work on it great start you are doing amazing ❤
Thank you for sharing all you do ,affie did so amazing considering this is her first season .good luck with all your training, AND plans for the fucher .Take care and all the best .😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍
Somebody need to treat you to a pair of black brushing boots.....😂😂 The green ones really stod out today! 😂😂 No, just kidding! You looked fabulous!!! ❤❤ Now you need to figure out how to stop her from shippin' inn that last halfstride.....I believe that was what took down your poles, not her beeing flat? Other than that she looked keen and willing!!! She's so beautiful!!! You really have developed so much already!!! ❤❤
All are steps forward, no matter how small! Also, you weren't quite 100% but you dressed up, showed up, did your performance to the best that you could - THAT'S the important bit. Also, what happened with Affie's tail??
Good on you for stepping up a level. I wonder if she would benefit from a lot more grid work. Might get her making a bit more of a shape and make her think about where her feet should be 🤷♀️ I’m not sure how much grid work you’ve already done with her 🤔
Affie has done such a great job! She wasn’t afraid or balky about anything. I think the bigger jumps might be better because it is making her think a little more. I wonder if some gymnastic grids might help? With a really big fence she is tight up front (I’ve seen her free jumping!) but I think she just has to work on her rhythm and learn to rock back a bit. If it’s too small she just flattens out! Still she is game and happy and the potential right there. I say grid work this winter and you will be snappy up front in the spring! But what do I know back seat rider!!Go Affie and Han!!
I totally agree with everything you've said!! I haven't done a single grid work session with Aff this year. I think that would really benefit both of us. So that's on the cards 🤞x
I think The reason she is knocking the 90s down is because your trying to speed up before the jump & with the speed she is flattening out over the jumps instead of getting height over them. If you notice the ones you’re getting less speed up before them she is clearing them. She needs to jump from her rear not from speed
Good job! The problem, it seems to me, is her tendency to chip in. That's been a thing all along--the more forward you get her, the less she does it, but maybe talk to your instructor about two things: 3-4 jump bounces and 3-4 jump variable stride exercises; and also putting a ground pole a few feet out from the jump to teach her to take off sooner. She just has to stop getting in so deep--that's a recipe for disaster in larger jumps. Ideally she goes when you tell her to, but we can't always see the stride and the horse needs to learn to see it for herself. I think that a ground line that would stop her from chipping would help a lot! Now that she's going so well, you can start to refine! What a year for Affie and you though! WINNING!!!! 🙂
Great first round, haven't watched the 2nd yet. Need to work on changes of the canter pace within the canter to get her stronger to sit❤so more flat schooling.
Really good but you have this terrible habit of flapping your arms and hands at her 2 strides out just before the fence. Just sit quietly and keep your hands a bit more steady. Hardest thing to do believe it or not is to do nothing on a horse. Sometimes and I’m very guilty for this, we just override them when we just need to sit there. But well done and she is a lovely pony ❤️
You should be so proud. Affie has come so far her first season and now you'll know what to work on this winter. Can't wait to watch her next season.

I love watching you and Affie 🥹 she’s come so far and it’s cuz u always believed in her xo

I also think a lot more Polework with grids and crossrails will help with that.

I love Affies jump, its so flowy and she looks so fun to ride😆
❤ You both did great, and 80 wasn't a problem except for you both learning the differences, ❤
Great job Han and Affie. Shes come along way
Great work Han!
Imagine next year for you both?!

Well done H! Shes such a keen little toad love her cc
Well done you! 🎉
Awesome job Han and Affie!!
That's so much fun to watch. You're doing great! The rest comes with patience and time. You should be so proud 🎊🎊
This is so great! Well done.
It seems like in the 80 she was better when you were riding more forward, so she didn't get so close.
Affie choosing scents is probably the best ad ever lol
so proud of you guys
Love aff !
Well done Han you and Affie did so well 👏👏

She was keen bean for the jumping, you'll have to do 90s next year!

You look like you've got a super secure lower leg in all of those stills! You did super 😊
Thank you
Well done. She looks a tad flat in canter, and rushed a few fences, but all part of the learning journey. 80 is certainly not to big. ❤

I think that's a very good idea. I haven't done any grid work with her this year at all!

Just tell yourself sit on your bottom your tend to lean forward sit back but thats practice
