June is the season for hydrangeas and irises.
Hondo-ji Temple has 50,000 hydrangeas planted in its precincts. It has a well-planned landscape with full use of the site, and hydrangeas are arranged throughout the garden, making it worthy of the name "Hydrangea Temple." Although it does not have any buildings of cultural heritage class, the combination of the architecture in the temple center and the stone pagodas with the hydrangeas is beautiful.
