      YHWH the One True Jehovah God is very real. Jesus Christ is very real. The Holy Spirit is very real. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, made me better, helped people through me. He showed me His existence in that.
      God worked through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit to save our souls. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead, repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart and you will be saved.
      Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible.

      To give you an idea of how abysmally arrogant and stupid Utron is. Black Widow is arguably the weakest of all Avengers with the weakest weapon, a 9mm pistol. Ultron didnt even make his bots proof against piddly 9mm bullets.
      Thor is struggling to deal damage, Vision is struggling to deal damage, Stark is struggling to deal damage, but not Romanov and her top tier weapon. No no. Walmart ammo too. Not even special SHIELD or Stark tech bullets. Just regular old 9x19mm parabellum.
      This is one of my major issues with this movie. Because if she was that effective, the Sokovian police should have been on par with Romanov, with the Sokovian military and their much larger, much more effective than a 9mm, proper battle rifles should have been offering to render aid and effectively doing so.

      Given how fixated Ultron was on replicating the human body, I wouldn't be surprised if he indeed had tubes pumping oxygen or some kind of blood-like vital liquid (cooling fluid, maybe?) to his head throught his neck in a way that made him vulnerable to chocking

    My head canon is that this version of Ultron was never an AI. I’m convinced that Tony and Banner didn’t copy computer code but rather released a mind that has been trapped in the Mind Stone for long enough to deteriorate.
    This explains his immediate self-identification as an entity that should have a body, his fractured mental state and his very organic thought patterns and plans. He’s not copying himself across multiple bodies or into a remote server somewhere disconnected from the internet because he’s still thinking like a person who grew up in a single body.

    • @DeetotheDubs
      @DeetotheDubs 10 місяців тому +261

      This is what I went with, too. He didn't come across as calculating enough and too emotionally-driven to be an AI. It made more sense that he was either trapped in the stone or it created him when probed/scanned, like some kind of quantum Schrodinger's consciousness.

      Well they did say it was a net of neurons within the mindstone, I took a bit of liberty calling it computer code. You might be onto something.
      But I would counter that by saying that Ultron has all his neuroses wrapped up in earth, humans, Tony and the avengers. It definitely doesn't seem like a straight download of whatever intelligence is inside the mindstone, more a mix of influences, as the movie more or less suggests.

    • @ArifRWinandar
      @ArifRWinandar 10 місяців тому +71

      Or maybe during that time he scanned the internet, he reads up on what people think is expected of an AI, and he modeled himself after that. Kind of explains why he wants a body as well, because in a lot of depictions of AI, they have a physical body of some sort, even if it's just a red light on a wall. "All AI ends up evil and turning on their creators? Well, I think I should be just like that!"

And then THAT base's entire job is to build bases all over the solar system so that even if humanity wins, we won't be able to find and kill every copy of the AI.

He is also there in Age of Ultron storming the Hydra base, where he talks almost like a human. After the battle he voices frustrations about mistakes the other Avengers made, specifically Hawkeye getting himself injured. Tony is worried Ultron is getting out of control, so he is planning to use the scepter to reprogram him, which finally pushes Ultron over the edge.

Offscreen, he contemplates these new developments. Hawkeye coming back injured finally tips him off the scales, putting him out of action. Tony reboots him with the scepter, which results in him becoming a full-on villain. That way, New people can be shocked while comics fans feel validated for knowing all along? I think we both know the better way to do this, and Marvel didn't, unfortunately.

    I like to think that Ultrons biggest flaw should have been speed. As an AI used to functioning in the digital space at orders of magnitude faster speeds, both of thought and response. All his plans were half baked and unfinished because he was imagining things as being much further along than they actually were. He might have been a super fast AI with oh so many remote appendages but he could only function in the real world at real world speeds. Never considering things like traffic, shipping delays, wear and tear. Just things that would occur in the real world and not in his perfectly and tightly controlled digital space.
    I felt like that was one of the things that they managed to capture well about his character in that movie. Like when he ripped off Ulysess hand by accident. To be fair, early on Wanda barely understood her powers. She had no idea about the reality warping until much later in her villain career. She could sometimes do things she couldn't duplicate until she learned where the power came from, and how it worked. That's kind of explained in the Multiverse of Madness. She went reading, and learned how her power works.
      I would explain the fist fighting in that she didn't want to rip most people apart.

      That's the thing with AI stories, like the Sentinels tried to wipe out and enslave humanity multiple times because their programing is to protect humanity from mutants, but once they begin to analyze more of the mutants they realize that they aren't a separate species and instead they still humans, therefore they must protect humans from humans... Which leads to a self destructive cycle that wouldn't exist if they didn't have racist agendas programed into them.
      The problem with writing evil AI is that it depends on it seeing humans as something to be destroyed, but that is only the case because the person that creates this AI allowed such thing, humanity is terrible but fixing it shouldn't require complete genocide of the planet

For the first two thirds of the movie, this is a pretty good analysis of exactly what the plot was saying.
    That final third of the movie though... Yeah that was dumb even by Marvel movie popcorn-action standards.

    My head cannon is that he did put one away. This was really a test of the adventures. If he is the super computer he claimed to be I could imagine him decided to run a few tests before really starting a plan. Explains why he pretty much tried at first but in the middle just seemed to let things happen and went more and more over-the-top like a child playing with his action figures. Also you would think a super A.I. would know to test before just thinking all like was bad. It wouldn't surprise me if in its odd super brain of his this was a test for humans to prove to him they deserved life. In the end the avengers proved it and proved he is not needed/wanted. Now that his experiment went a little over board and he is stuck in the body he has it would be funny to see him being in a small town somewhere just stuck not knowing what to do or is too worried if he tries anything he would be found to be alive. I know 100% this is not true at all, but funny to picture (they would never plan something like that so far ahead and such a big twist). One day the newer heroes are stuck in the middle of nowhere and Ultron pulls up in his truck to help or at least scoff at. He is stuck having a lab in a large shed in the back of the property and has to literally 'plug in' to either charge or hook up online.

    2:37 This actually makes me think the film would have been better if Ultrons motives where to save the world by removing the bad people in order to protect all the good people.
    But he has a very black and white outlook on what makes someone bad/good since people are capable of change and are often a mix of both to some degree or other, however he is unable to see that. Something that could be reflected later in the film when vison says "there is grace in there failings. I think you missed that".
    This would also be a great concept to explore with the avengers having a gray outlook on the situation as its clear killing bad people will only lead to destruction & suffering and the creation of more bad people.
    This conflict of outlooks between Ultron and the Avengers would also be interesting to see when looking at Black Widow and Hulk. The Two people with the most blood of innocent people on there hands and therefore would be prime examples in Ultons eyes as bad people who need to be removed.
    And you could even look at Captain American as an example who fought in a world war where every side had good and bad people within there ranks. In fact this concept of good of good and bad reflects all the avengers to some degree.
    And of course this would also reflect in Ultron most of all with him becoming the very evil he wants to eradicate since good people do seek to bring about peace by killing everyone they think is bad and anyone who dose commit to this crusade doesn't stay "good" for very long.
    I'd actually be very interested to see this explored in a future story someday.

    I was so sad to see how dumb Ultron was being. He should have kept all kinds of backup bodies so he could keep coming back after that final battle

    Heck, there was one reality where he fused with Sigma (From MegaMan X) Only to be Defeated by X (with the help of Dr. Light and Ironman). Dr. Wily and Sigma would make good Villains Too Stupid to Win. There a lot of examples on both sides

    From bad memory, comic Ultron actually follows more your ideas of efficiency: The moment he's actually prepared, he won. He also had "Doom Lost Soul"-like drones, over just more humanoids, and was only bested by time shenanigans.
    That said, still love the movie version. The fact he's actually quite childish, trying to grapple with concepts he unquestionably grips objectively but lacks the experience or age to grasp outside a concept, the fact you can actually see his motives evolve and devolve as he marches on, and the detail of him constantly trying to be as human as he can be, are all great touches. It's such a shame he's, like so many other MCU villains, basically just a one-off, even if "something isn't beautiful, because it lasts". That final scene with Ultron and Vision is especially great, as it shows, in spite of his ruinous mental state, he deep down does want to do his job.

    I think even though Ultron is written stupidly, he's still a bit of a compelling character because of how stupid he is. It's like an incomplete finding yourself kind of story.

    Hey Zealot I've got to ask, have you read the comic series that the movie was based off (conveniently named Age of Ultron)? Even if it has your typical comic book fuckery, I'm sure you would enjoy Ultron way more in that iteration as he's a way better villain than in the movies, hell he even gives himself purpose after winning. Top tier writing imo

    Ultron was invented by Ant Man (not the one we see in live action) not Iron Man as guards for his micro prison for supervillains. Having seen those supervillains, that was what convinced Ultron with the "badness" of humans. And that Ant Man was really a flawed person and there was a real chance that it was his tendency toward violence that kicked Ultron off.

      That's something that's always bugged me with a _lot_ of robot characters in fiction with humanoid forms: They move their mouths despite the fact they've got no vocal cords and their voices are actually coming from some audio device within them. There are some that don't move their mouths, though (C-3P0, Comic Book Ultron, etc.).

    My head canon is that Ultron wanted to decimate the Earth to force humans to upgrade to cyborgs to survive (Cybermen-style) in anticipation of an even greater cataclysmic event in the future (Thanos- whose motives hadn't been determined by the writers yet, remember).
    But that's only me trying to make sense of things. It would have been nice if a character actually spelt that motivation (or any other) out for us; or, if they just stuck to the comics and made him a blatant genocidal misanthrope from the start without any muddling of a vague greater good.

    Another comparison for insane AI wanting to destroy all of humanity would be AM from “I have no mouth I must scream”. Bare in mind, AM was actually successful and only stopped so he could torment the survivors.

    • @GreaterGrievobeast55
      @GreaterGrievobeast55 9 місяців тому

      In AM's case he was actually built to kill humans rather then protect them so it can almost be expected when a tortured AI is traumatized by it's inability to have proper sensations and only outlet is violence

      @@GreaterGrievobeast55 exactly. And interestingly enough, Ultron expresses similar behavioral patterns. Even during his “birth” Ultron expresses discomfort and anxiety over not having a physical form and all the senses that go with it.
      Arguably, Ultron’s motivations are similar to AM’s. Both have severe anger issues and misanthropic levels of hatred. The differences being Ultron gains a body very early in his development while AM is way smarter and more… let’s say creative.
