For some reason when I set the guides at 1080x1080 and then switch the canvas size to Portrait, the guides move as well. Is there something I am missing?

Hi Valerie, are you using 'Image Size' instead of 'Canvas Size'? That could be the difference. If you use Canvas Size it shouldn't have that issue. - although, it could be worth checking the 'Anchor" diagram to make sure the dot is in the middle and not top or bottom. (This expands the canvas center outwards). Does that help?
