Matteo Mancuso is Italian, from Palermo in the isle of Sicily. He went to the conservatory in his city. His father is a guitarrist. Humble easy going guy, saw him in lake Garda last august, it's a pleasure to listen to him.
Sicilians are Sicilian, not Italian :D :D :D
@@karayuschij this is true in most of Italy, it is our history based on feudal landlords, Italy as a united country is not that old. So you are right, before being an italian a sicilian will always claim to be a sicilian, as I claim to be a Venetian

Glad you're feeling better, Sir! Great reactions, always!
He graduated in classical and jazz guitar
Yeah, he's the real deal. Great technique, musicality, and humility when talking about what he's able to do. Both an inspiration and terrifying for other guitarists.
Will have to check out the video with Tommy Emmanuel, another monster player. Do you have a link or name of that video? Thanks
I’m gonna do a reaction to it this week👍 it might be a Facebook post
Amazing... So the best in the world mr ALIF BA TA.
Matteo is on a van Halen-Guthrie level. Incredible
I've taught alongside Guthrie a couple of times at colleges I've worked at.. Top man!
Credo che Van halen è 6:44 un po' al di sotto di Guthrie per la sua poliedricitá
His right hand technique could revolutionize like Eddie's tapping....
van halen was a degenerate. even as a guitar player, this kid makes eddie sound like he has cerebral palsy. Guthrie I know nothing about, but im not too fond of folk music either.
It's all relative so what do I know, right?
Welcome in Matteo's world
Phenomenal player, great vid
Thanks Paul !
Sicilian, he's Sicilian, both northern italians and Sicilians would argue they are not interchangeable.
As a Sicilian i had myself tested, im greek, sardinian, arab, north african, nigerian, and southern italian. What this means is, who gives a shit where he is from. We are all just earthlings
It's over 9000!!!!!!!
Thanks!
He’s an alien, no other explanation
😂😂
Soprattutto per la sua umiltà, in un'arena di buffoni
Can’t mention Clapton Matteo is years ahead 🎼👌
Clapton is literally years ahead... like 60 yrs... Matteo could be the new guy though.
@@user-qr7ee2cp4y Claptons a blues player , Jan Ackerman far better 🎼
Matteo avanti in tutto...sa suonare tutti i generi...oltre ad essere più veloce e più bravo . Clapton è più grande ,solo per l' età 😂😂
Bassist technique, fingerstyle, tapping and slapp.
His technique is a mix of flamenco and electric bass (he said)
I saw Matteo a few weeks ago and he did this song, It was exquisite of course but I noticed that for the opening and signature licks he slides up instead of bending the notes as Beck did. At the end he did bend the notes, I am wondering if there is a reason for this. The thing that blows me away about his playing is the way he shreds but stays true to the melody.
Matteo is my preferred, but what about Max Ostro??
There's a video of Robert Trujillo the bassist of the Heavy Metal band Metallica, playing on an acoustic guitar using the bass fingering style in the studio, just for fun and I always thought that this sounded great and had potential, so this guy basically proved my theory and than some. HEHE! 😉
John Mayer fans aren't going to want hear their guy isn't the goat"
😂 What a comment!
This is Claudio Quartarone's guitar technique. I believe he had a significant influence on Matteo Mancuso; they are both Sicilian.
Use magnesium taurate for strong nails and good sleep
He's kind of like a E L P on guitar or a cross of shawn lane an Holdsworth
I'm a huge MM fan from years.
Excuse me, but to say "The best in the world", is a nonsense. The best in WHAT skill? Sound, touch, phrasing, innovation, composition, clarity, originality, sensitivity, versatility? Every great guitarist has his own style and personality. MM is one of the best, but, for example, he must grow and improve as a composer and as a creator of a personal sound. But his incredible versatility (he can play EVERY GENRE) maybe is really one of the most interesting in the world
I guess it’s like saying who was the greatest painter in the world, who was the greatest opera singer in the world, etc etc,, it’s all subjective
@@rudfil its impossible to say.
Tory Slusher is also a good guitarist...
you sound a little like Alex Harvey
Give my regards to Sargeant Fury
The best in the world is a bit of a stretch, but the guy can play! It's just a shame that many of today's guitar players feel they have to cram a thousand notes into every measure, and for many listeners that gets kind of old!😢
You are precisely right. That's what sets this guy apart from most of modern day "shredders": his phrasing. It's top-notch.
He is very high level of electric guitar player but Alip Bata still The best Guitarist in the World...still no one compare to Alip Bata
Comparisons are useless. Everyone has his own style and personality. So, Alip Bata plays nothing new. MM INVENTED a new technique
What an incredible virtuoso! But am I the only one who thinks that after a while it all starts to sound the same? Apparently so. Neil Young once said, "Guys like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, they're genius guitar players. But I can't relate. One note is enough."
@markseven7
"What an incredible virtuoso! But am I the only one who thinks that after a while it all starts to sound the same?"
People who think this all sounds the same really need some musical training.
This isn't for everyone. And it can be tiring listening to because it takes focus to do so. This is intellectual stuff. I'm reminded of Oscar Peterson. He would quote songs or the styles of other musicians in his solos. You can't just go listen for fun.
@@SamIAm-kz4hg So you're not supposed to listen to music just for fun? What a sad point-of-view. And you have to have musical training in order to have an opinion about what kind of music you enjoy? Yikes.
@@markseven7
" you're not supposed to listen to music just for fun? "
Why this moronic comment? It has nothing to do with anything I said.
If you think it all sounds the same, it's likely because you don't have any formal training in jazz. It takes some serious knowledge to understand and appreciate this. And no, it's not for everyone. But feel free to stay here and argue about this. Some music is enjoyable because it is intellectual.
I'm 70 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 12. And I have had years of formal training. But apparently, in your world, that doesn't entitle me to have an opinion that there is a whole bunch of guitarists out there who, while extremely talented and sometimes unique, can still manage to sound the same when shredding. I also respect others' opinions and I don't need to call them moronic if I disagree.
@@markseven7
"And I have had years of formal training."
Apparently not enough. Go watch what people like Al Di Meola and other top players say about him. Your inability to discern the things that these musicians and I can, is fine. How much jazz have you REALLY studied?
"But apparently, in your world, that doesn't entitle me to have an opinion"
So, not only don't you appear to have enough training in the intricacies of jazz, but you also don't know how to reason, since not once did I say you couldn't have an opinion. But, if you could quote where I did, that would be great. The nice thing here is that I don't need to be nice to you about the things you don't know. I don't need to respect your opinion, since I CAN hear the difference between players. And others can too. Or do you think Steve Vai, Al Di Meola, and Eric Johnson are full of shit?
Jason Becker and Jimi Hendrix was the Best guitar player in the World.
This is Claudio Quartarone s technique
Other genre, other technique, other music. It is totally different
Their all like you jumping on his Pr bandwagon as🎉
What type of English is this???
Not English Harold buddy, SCOTTISH :)
@@rockstardaduk I see,I thought I studied the wrong language !

I hate shredding i think its just noodling, like a gimmick, i prefer his jazz style much better. i lose interest quickly when he plays like Vai or Douchehalen, i like his Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, or even Schofield style much better.
@robertmassucci1
"I hate shredding i think its just noodling, like a gimmick"
I agree. But he only does it in short bunches, and it's usually part of a line.
Jumping on the Matteous PR bandwagon..as when Ren suddenly became noticed....sorry mate ..its clever but doesn't touch the soul ...
I know he has phenomenal technique but i find him boring, its about music not fretboard gymnastics
Most of his originals are definitely not fretboard gymnastics
If you can't hear the greatness, then you must be tone deaf.
Tu cosa conosci di Mancuso
@@jimphilidor9031Best comment ever!
The same thing some people said about Guthrie when he first came out. Maybe your ears are just too used to the sound of pentatonic. The way this guy outlines the chord changes is on par with Larry Carlton imo.
He reported, he looked at his father playing using just fingers. He believed that was normal for guitar and... he moved on.
