It should be common knowledge for anyone who has flown in the last 20 years on stowing your laptop on takeoff and landing. Some people just want to be difficult.
I think the wedding registry made more sense back in the day when you went from living with your parents to living with your partner at like 18 and needed all the house stuff for the first time. Now it makes less sense because most people have been living alone or with their partner for a while by the time they get married
Former FA here. Of course we learned that any size/type of laptop should be put in a bag, stowed (underseat or in bin) for TO & landing. But i traveled loads before, and knew to put it away at those times. Also, it's in the announcements AND on the safety cards. So that mom was trying to play dumb bc she did not want to engage at all w her kid and use the tech sitter.

People are so silly. I havent had the privilege of flying a lot but even I know when the flight attendant tells you to put your toys away- there no question- put it away end of story.

Definitely common knowledge about the laptop. Some people don't think any rules apply to them. I follow rules without being told, but like many people are saying here.... if a flight attendant tells me to do something, I do not argue! Love your videos!

Regarding laptops etc., even if the FAs didn't say anything, it's common sense to put them and certain other things away. Even if it's a person's first flight.
I agree: even if I'm just at home for the day, making the bed, and putting myself together makes all the difference in how I feel. You always look lovely, with or without makeup.

As is usually the case, this is another excellent vlog, Kacey. If you may recall, I work at GEG, and the number of daily flights that are delayed have prompted many of our colleagues to say that the airlines should start a new advertising campaign with the slogan "On time is when we get there!"
It has GOT to be as annoying for you as crew as it is for the traveling public with all the delays, so my heart goes out to you for your ability to handle these issues professionally.
I understand from another AA FA vlog that negotiations are going on right now. Here's hoping FAs for your airline will get some of the same new pay features/benefits as your colleagues over at United received with their new contract. (It's sad that what would be considered "wage theft" in other industries is considered normal in the airline industry.)

I have been a subscriber for some time now. Funny that this video popped up today as I was at DFW yesterday wandering around as my flight was delayed. Out of nowhere, I had a thought of Pup and that I missed seeing her crazy antics on the channel. Prayers to you and the family. Also, as a road warrior for many many years, I have seen the craziest things from passengers on planes, from refusing to put away laptops, talking on cell phones before we actually land, and even trying to smoke in the lav. Air travel is more of a chore now than ever.

I have not flown on American in many years. My husband and I drove the Dallas to fly to Monterey, California and back after 9 days in Carmel Valley. Our flight out of DFW was wonderful. Only a hour delay returning to DFW. Wonderful service on both sides of the flight. Will definitely fly out of DFW to Monterey, again.

I haven't flown since before the "P" but I do remember on my last flight the FA's announcing that all electronics have to be put away during take-off and landing. I don't understand why that passenger didn't get the memo.

Kacey, you aren't crazy about the laptop situation. That wasn't an 'air' like the woman said, she knew it was a laptop & even if it was an IPad, hey, still needs to be stowed away. People will try anything to bypass the rules. Also, can you let us know how Fort Myers looked? I know they were hit hard by the hurricane last year. Oh and you & Josh should try a cruise. They are terrific & you can do as much or as little as you want.
I don't fly a lot but I've had three trips over the last month so I am hardly an expert but I've had at least one leg delayed on all three of those trips.
A MacBook Air is lighter than a normal laptop BUT if something happens during take off or landing, it has enough mass to become a missile and take someone out. Take care, keep the awesome content coming...
It surely could cause some damage. One dropped on my head from the overhead bin when it's owner tried to retrieve it before the flight. Very painful and that was a short distance. Can't imagine if it was sent flying down the aisle!
i did that trip last week and it fell apart and we ended up staying in clt and reassigned to do a pit turn the next day, was a mess

Everytime I've flew the FA's always made the announcement to keep laptops put up til the captain made sure it was OK to use.
The girl with the sausage and cottage cheese and mustard also had weight loss surgery and a tummy tuck--so that may have something to do with her diet success. But you don't need to lose any weight, Kasey....so hopefully you just are eating well. Be happy and eat what you need for your body!

I have an iPad Pro that is 12.9” with a magnetic keyboard. I’ve had flight attendants think it was a laptop when it isn’t. I pull the keyboard off and show them its just a screen.

I have an iPad Air… you can use it with and without the keyboard … when I travel I just bring both cases and use a case without the keyboard on the plane bc it’s smaller and that way I don’t have to stow it for takeoff it I don’t want to…. Otherwise yes it looks exactly like a laptop in the magic keyboard case .. in a regular iPad case it’s a regular iPad… that mom should travel smarter not harder it’s her fault not yours .. . And if thr FA ever asked me to stow my iPad I’d just stow it 😊…

I flew for work everyday Monday thru Friday for 17 years fly somewhere do the inspections then fly to the next city.
Now you know why I had to give up American Airlines they hung me out to dry just to many times, at least you get paid even when you are delay. My airport time and flight time was always free. Well no pay for me.

Laptop stowed for take off and landing is common knowledge unless you haven’t flown in a FEW decades.
Agree with others here Kacey that YES... people fully know that ALL laptops, tablets, and all devices except phones need to be stored for takeoff and landing. People know that. But much of the American public is either stupid or feels self-entitled or both. We admire professionals like you that have the strength and patience to deal with the public. It’s take off and landing… so strange they can’t deal with being separated from their device for such a short time. Just high maintenance.

My whole bed room set, it looks just like yours, my dinner room table set and my side and bigger living room tables. I do not have kids so I do not know if that makes a difference. But I have moved 2 times and the furniture still standing. My bed even has the drawers underneath.

It is common knowledge to stow your laptop on takeoff and landing. Sadly the odd individual has to be awkward. Listening to safety procedures seems lost on certain people. The real value of listening to the safety and evacuation presentation is so important, yet many just ignore this short presentation that saves lives in the unlikely event of an emergency. Folks need to understand the flight crew are onboard for your safety not your service. The crew are highly trained in many aspects of the various aircraft we all fly in. Listening to the crew is paramount. On one flight this very rude gentleman was up one side and down the other of this poor female flight attendant. When this poor lady got to me and my wife l told her that the guy was out of order and very rude. I also said she was doing a great job and expressed to her that her fragrance was also very nice. She smiled and her eyes lit up too. Be kind people, it's free and does wonders for us all.
