I think the best option for me with buying this cabinet is to wait until it goes on sale. Within three to six months, these cabinets be way more affordable in your local Walmart or Best Buy, if they decide to sell them through those retailers. When The Simpsons cabinet came out it was for $700-$800 last year. Now a week ago I seen that same cabinet at my Walmart store on sale for $194.43. So if money is tight, or its not worth over the $500 pricing tag they will slap on there, then by all means wait it out.
I have the Turtles Arcade 1up and the original Mortal Kombat one and they are fun for sure. Still want to get the KI one but it is pretty expensive and I am running out of space.
Cool...but please just release a collection of everything from X Men vs SF up until MvC2 on modern consoles. There can't be any issues doing that if Arcade 1 Up can release this.
I'd like everyone to realize the fact that Arcade1up was able to handle the smorgasbord of rights needed to rerelease this game, which is setting a huge precedent that this game CAN come back out in this day and age
No it doesn't. It simply shows that you can get a release of a title like this as long as it is tied to a novelty gimmick. I'm sure the only reason this got the green light was because it's an arcade cabinet that not a ton of people are gonna buy and neither Marvel, Disney, or Capcom had to do any work to get a licensing check for.
@@kiefergray6189 While it's true that arcade cabinets are different than a digital product on consoles/PC in terms of rights, I still think it's worth noting that this video game is back in a purchasable form, and while we're definitely a while away from a proper re-release, this Arcade1up mvc2 machine gives me proof that there is interest in bringing it back
I saw this on an arcade a few months back and it got me surprised how they brought it back over at Bakersfield. Heck it was a field trip not even where I live.
Although it's not something I'm interested on buying even if I had the money for it, this is flipping awesome! Especially because it includes X-Men vs Street Fighter, my very first 'VS series' game I've ever played in arcades as a kid. I hope they release these games on Steam (and consoles) someday, I'd buy them in a heartbeat!
I'm just waiting for Capcom to drop a console collection from X-Men COTA All the way to MvC 3. Considering everything else we've got from Capcom over the last few years, to have this on the switch would be a dream come true for somebody like me
And don't talk to me about the PC versions. I have the PC version of MvC3, but I am not a PC gamer. No. I want this in a much more convenient form factor (like the Switch).
It’s neat but for I’d assume $600+ and the floor space needed just to play a bunch of sentinels online it’s still a pass for me despite this being my favorite fighting game. Also these not being true arcade sized I’d be concerned how cramped 2 people would be standing at it.
Now, if this game can be on modern consoles (including the Switch), then MvC2 can truly be freed, unless you’re a super fans of A1up, not everyone willingly pay for $600 just to play a legendary classic game.
If it's only limited to a console release, then you're going to have to go through another decade long campaign to get it released again and again and again. The ONLY solution to long-term preservation is a good PC port.
I'm equal parts pissed off and confused at people calling Marvel 'freed' because someone is releasing the game on an expensive piece of hardware. This is absolutely NOT 'freed'. I'm getting pretty sick of this trend of the only way to legally obtain some old game is via some kind of mini console/replica cabinet. Marvel isn't freed, they just moved it to a new prison.
Man I remember when MvC2 released back for the Xbox 360 back in like 2009 I believe. That shit was madness. I grew up playing the MVC series in the arcades when I was younger but the memories and matches I had when it went live for the 360 was insane. What a great time to play MvC2!!!!!!
It’s really cool John D did this but I really wish and hope he plans to make sure all the Marvel games made by Capcom will get ported to actual consoles soon this time like on Switch, Xbox, PS5 etc. Surely it should be possible for him to work out the licensing so that they can be rerelease or remastered for all modern consoles now right?

Maybe now that they finally figured out the licensing for mvc2, they’ll do a vs series collection. Here’s hoping
"I already have one at my house"...
Look outside your window, Justin. Numerous new challengers may or may not have appeared.
Fingers crossed this gets a collection on consoles somewhere down the line.
A bit of a genie situation. We technically got what we asked for, but we weren't specific enough to get what we really wanted.
Profound.. sadness.
I love this moment! As someone who grew up with Consoles like everyone else.... I'm glad I was able to step out of my comfort Zone in 2020 with MVC Cab to experience the games.
Consoles are cool, games are cheaper... But none of that shit comes close to the experience of playing the games in an Arcade form factor.
I'm glad you guys ar missing out, I'm glad you are still asking for the console version, so you can continue to miss out on the most pure Arcade Experience of these games available in the Mass Market for Home Use.
🍺😎
@@cMARVEL360 ok im sorry we don't have $600 to drop on a cabinet
@@ShirouBrando
Neither do I. I work, I save my money and I pay my bills.
I have no reason to knock those for that, the difference is that I know what it's like to love the series enough to bite in to making space, saving money, and buying the first MVC Cab.
It was also my reintroduction in to Arcade Gaming. . . I worked in reverse, now I have FC2 on PC and Arcade Sticks on consoles... But playing on a Cabinet, No Macros, Controllers or Keyboard... Just Arcade Stick and Buttons.
It's an experience worth saving for. You don't need an entire set of cabs, just the 1.
@@cMARVEL360 thats one of the most edgiest shit i ever read
Man I was hyped…..I get a ad for MK 14 games in 1 with online 1up machine. Click on it and I see MvC!!!!
Come here, 18 hour old video and then hear Hieroglyphics bumping in the Pimp my Arcade like I was back in 1998
Fire!!!!!!
The TMNT arcade games were re-released on arcade 1up and now we’re getting the TMNT cowabunga collection from Konami/ Digital Eclipse. So it is possible that a MvC collection can be made for console & PC. Come on Capcom, make it happen.
Congrats🎉 you were selected amongst the shortlisted winners 🏆 for the ongoing MacBook-M2/PC/Ps5 giveaways 🏆ωнατѕαρρ the number above ☝🏻
wait a minute though
12:00 they're playing souls of mischief and hieroglyphics!!!
Wait for real? This is awesome I have played MVC2 since I was a kid in the arcade. I’m so snagging one of this up
I think the best option for me with buying this cabinet is to wait until it goes on sale.
What are the chances of this hitting modern consoles ? 🥺
Xbox series x/s and PlayStation 5. Maybe switch
@@JR_Donofrio yes those are the modern consoles lol
@@kevinarzate44 lol I meant are we going to get them on modern console
They freed it by confining it to an arcade cabinet?
I wish it was an actual console collection.
Now its REALLY free
Now we need to that collection for consoles
Yes, please! Day one buy right here.
YES!!!! I LOVE IT Thank you Arcade1up :D
I would kill for a vs collection
It's technically a vs collection lol..but I would buy a second Xbox series X just to shove in a cab if they get a legit console port.
@@TheCodeAlwaysWins I mean a vs collection on console sorry should've worded it better
That’s fricken awesome we’ve waiting for a long time for this
They need to release this as a collection on console and pc
I have the Turtles Arcade 1up and the original Mortal Kombat one and they are fun for sure. Still want to get the KI one but it is pretty expensive and I am running out of space.
Cool...but please just release a collection of everything from X Men vs SF up until MvC2 on modern consoles. There can't be any issues doing that if Arcade 1 Up can release this.
This will be my first 1UP purchase!
Holy fuck. When they dropped that Souls of Mischief and Hieroglyphics it was the cherry on top to my excitement
Capcom needs to port MvC 2 to modern consoles next!
I would pay for a collection on Steam so fast. I can't afford $600.00 dollars, though.
got mine! playing it as i watch this back haha
Not paying $600 for MVC2. This ain’t a victory.
Mission Accomplished. Now lets get a Capcom vs SNK 2 cabinet/ SvC Chaos cabinet
glad that it happened and hope that at some point in the future we get console and pc versions as well
I hope MvC1 will come back as well. I had so much nostalgia with both games.
It’s neat but for I’d assume $600+ and the floor space needed just to play a bunch of sentinels online it’s still a pass for me despite this being my favorite fighting game.
Also these not being true arcade sized I’d be concerned how cramped 2 people would be standing at it.
If they do a cvs 2 cabinet I will buy so fast
I'd buy this on consoles in a flash.
I don’t like how separated the buttons are with me being a magneto player I will definitely mod the button layout if I pull the plug on this
Now, if this game can be on modern consoles (including the Switch), then MvC2 can truly be freed, unless you’re a super fans of A1up, not everyone willingly pay for $600 just to play a legendary classic game.
If it's only limited to a console release, then you're going to have to go through another decade long campaign to get it released again and again and again. The ONLY solution to long-term preservation is a good PC port.
This is not MvC2 freed, this is MvC2 with visiting hours/phone calls. If you have to pay $600 to play MvC2, you are paying a ransom
@@Thalanox PC and Console crossplay, 100%
Props to arcade 1up. They did it
*again
Well I can't really by an entire arcade cabinet but I'm glad it's back! hopefully it gets on PC and consoles
I wouldn't say freed, more like under new management
I'm equal parts pissed off and confused at people calling Marvel 'freed' because someone is releasing the game on an expensive piece of hardware. This is absolutely NOT 'freed'. I'm getting pretty sick of this trend of the only way to legally obtain some old game is via some kind of mini console/replica cabinet.
Marvel isn't freed, they just moved it to a new prison.
600 bucks with all games?! That’s a steal
We need a Marvel vs Capcom Collection on Switch, PS5, and Series S/X.
Man I remember when MvC2 released back for the Xbox 360 back in like 2009 I believe. That shit was madness. I grew up playing the MVC series in the arcades when I was younger but the memories and matches I had when it went live for the 360 was insane. What a great time to play MvC2!!!!!!
Congrats🎉 you were selected amongst the shortlisted winners 🏆 for the ongoing MacBook-M2/PC/Ps5 giveaways 🏆ωнατѕαρρ the number above ☝🏻
I had fun as a kid in the arcade playing but had the most fun with my friends playing it on the ps2 version I skipped the 360 version
@@sikwitit773 respect my bro
"That was unexpected"
Says the guy with the machine directly behind him 😂
He doesn't have the same one up. The one he has was from some years ago. That had been the last time we'd seen a "home release" of mvc2 before now.
He has no control over the console side of things anymore. He works for arcade 1up
he works for arcade 1 up now. Would not make much sense for him to get it on other platforms
we really need this on consoles.
Yup
15:07 MvC Infinite goes down to $7.49 regularly, I'm pretty sure. Because I've been waiting for it to go down even lower than that
Finally i dont need to go to Blockbuster anymore to play this, thanks Capcom!
He *CAN* keep getting away with it!
Please?
1 more time for PC and modern consoles.
Even mega fans don’t all have room in their place for a cab or even another 1up if they have others
Glad it's back just wish if was also on consoles
Won't be truly free until they finally put it out on modern consoles/pc in a way that doesn't require alotta dosh to get.

Lets get Limited Run to get it on Nintendo Switch.
Nope. An official collection
