岩手県 大船渡市 「CAFE gull」

岩手県には名所がいっぱいあります。
大船渡市にある CAFE gullもその一つ。
「大船渡の海を見渡せるカフェをつくりたくて、理想の場所を探しました」と店主の佐々木ひろみさん。オープンは2023年9月。3個のコンテナを繋げて作られたお店は外観はスタイリッシュで店内は居心地のいい空間になっています。「厚切りキッシュプレート」をはじめとするランチメニューには、できるだけ地元産の食材を使用。CAFE gullからの眺めをイメージした「空と海のクリームソーダ」、陸前高田の「黄金生姜」を使った「自家製ジンジャーエール」、「ガトーショコラ」などのスイーツやドリンク類も魅力的です。gull＝カモメ は佐々木さんのあだ名が由来だとか。お店の近くの島を地元の方が昔から「カモメ島」と呼んでいたのは素晴らしい偶然と感じました。

The lunch menu, including the "thick-sliced ​​quiche plate," uses locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. Sweets and drinks such as "Sky and Sea Cream Soda'' inspired by the view from CAFE gull, "Homemade Ginger Ale'' using Rikuzentakata's "Golden Ginger'', and "Gateau Chocolat'' are also attractive. The word gull comes from Mr. Sasaki's nickname. I thought it was a wonderful coincidence that the locals had long called the island near the shop "Seagull Island."
