You said it, she was born to this, she and her sisters practically jumped from the crib and landed on the piano🤣
The octopus move at the end is very difficult. She had to reshoot it only because the overhead camera wasnt on the 1st time. Mom encouraged her to do it again. At 7 she was given official lessons but das noticed her skills when she was playing rock star.
No Hello Kitty kit for Paulina! Based on her obvious talent from the very beginning, her parents made a big investment in her future that’s paying off 1,000 fold!
Watching little Pau drumming like that always blows my mind! 🤯🤯
At 67, I spent my life never seeing girls or women step into the limelight on any rock band instrument. Professionally. Pau had a very effective teacher & has quite the unique mind comprehending beats.
A natural-born drummer yes, but this is also the result of equal parts hard work, practice, focus, and determination. And it wouldn't have been possible at all without the full support of her parents - they nurtured her love for music, they gave her all the tools and teachers to be successful, and they no doubt had to both encourage her, and also keep her focused on her goals when she got frustrated or just wanted to go play like any child would want to.
If you’d told me 5 years ago that I was going to watch a video of a ten year old drumming to a Kelly Clarkson song dozens of times I would have laughed. But here we are. The charisma is just bursting out of her at that age completely aside from the huge musical talent. So much fun to watch.
*Fun Fact:* Both Dany & Pau started with classical piano. Their father notice Pau's drumming skills when was always drumming coordination with her fingers on the table. He got the girls the Rock Band game. Dany took the guitar & Pau did the drums. Ale was to small to play so she watched while taken piano lessons. Then their father asked if they want to play another instrument. Both said yes. Dany took guitar & Pau chose drums. At school. Dany took up saxophone while Pau took up percussion. Pau's dad brought a full size adult drum set for her. The one you saw. Ale later on took up bass. Each sister were practicing by themselves. Pau was doing drum covers. One day they realize they had guitar, drums & bass for a band.
The rest is history.
I’m almost positive Ale took piano lessons as well, there is video of her playing really young.

I did wrote Ale took lessons.
*"Ale was to smallto play so she watched while taking piano lessons."* Believe Ale was 3 or 4 when she had piano lessons. Because The Warning's first gig was at their School's Christmas festival in 2012. They weren't The Warning then. But Ale turned 8 that day since they performed on her birthday.
@@kevinthetruckdriver353 I recall that only Pau started on the piano before the age of 5, but I could be wrong ( _according to other people because I don't think so_ ).

5:10 Pau doing crossovers at this age is insane. She had the fundamentals down at 10 years old which is very important for later on in playing. It shows on their newer songs. I can't imagine her skills in another 10 years.
Before this video, she was told by many drum trainers she could not play the drums. Her build was too small.

Look in the far upper left corner at about 2:35 and onwards. You can see her Mom's bare foot keeping time. Pau did this song perfectly and found that the camera didn't record. She was understandably upset and Mom calmed her down and went downstairs to sit with her while she did it again. Did it perfectly, again, of course, and this time the camera worked.
This was the very first video that caught my attention and eventually caused me to keep up with her career. When I saw their Enter Sandman video I knew they were destined for greatness.

I agree with what Donna says, Pau has a natural talent for playing the drums, but she has also had to work very hard to perfect her skills.

Pau got her first taste of the Drums from playing the video game Rock Band when she was very young. It's been said that she liked to hit everything and she broke a lot of stuff when she was a little kid. Her drumming style earned her the nickname 'Animal', like the Muppet character.
Cobus is a drummer known for his wild flamboyant drumming techniques. Pau saw one of his videos and decided she wanted to do it too for one song. It took her a long hours of practice but at ten she mastered it. The fact that she is only 10 adds to the amazing performance.
What's neat about this video is that Pau said in a interview that one of the cameras filming her broke during the recording and she was told she will have to redo the video. She got a bit upset because she didn't think she could do it again, so her mom came into the room to give her support. If you look towards the upper left hand corner of the video you can see part of a foot bopping up and down. That's her mom's foot.

She still does the cross-arm thing in a Warning song (I forget which) where she plays the front right ride cymbal with her right hand and the floor toms with her left hand, crossing under her right arm. The PauCam of U-Fest shows this.
Her arms are almost too short to reach her full kit here.
The cool thing is she's got the same setup now from the looks of it.
There's a great video of her showing off her kit she uses on tour now. There's also ones of Dany and Ale doing the same with their guitars and bass.

Pau is an amazing person. She more creativity than 20 people. All three of these young ladies are exceptional, but Pau is very special.
I started playing guitar at about this age. Staying in time is difficult as a young musician. Keeping time as a drummer does is even more so. Keeping time and playing in this proficient a manner at this age? It shows the dedication and practice but like Donna said, she was born to do this. Her ability to grasp very complex patterns and movements isn't at all common. Each sister seems to have this ability.
She was 10yrs.old just think, she started at maybe 5 or 6yrs. old.. Thats a big person kit too. Mom & Dad really had to set everything low to the ground and really close together so she could reach.. See ya all on the next one...🚧☢️🚧🤟🎶☮️
Fun fact: Cobus is the name a South African UA-cam drummer goes by. She was covering an early version that he had done.
I was a bit late to the party, but the first time I saw Pau and the Warning was their Enter Sandman cover 9 years ago. I’ve been a big fan since then. Pau is something special, but then so are Ale and Danny, too. I feel like a proud uncle watching them, they are just so good.

You know a lot of times we pay attention to the people who do the singing and yet the unsung heroes are the ones who are playing the instruments whether it's the piano, organ or guitar or some other instruments. We all have talents, not always music. This is so wonderful to see a young girl was such wonderful talent playing the drums. Thank you for sharing this video and God bless.
