0:01 The Orioles and the Royals in a postseason series? Oh, how times have changed.

The tigers where in the playoffs that same year

@@aperson9796 and who are you
You cannot tell me that Simba only made ONE of the best plays of the decade.
there must be a simmons filter on because you could fill this whole highlight reel with simba plays that are better than all of them
And let's not forget the Fletch/Simba double play that was unreal. Wasted 8 minutes of my life.
There's a 25 minute video of Simmon's highlights that is awesome. One of the best defensive shortstops of all time.
Like seriously! The play where he slipped and was sitting on the ground and threw out the Washington runner.
one of the best defensive shortstops of all time and deserves more than one clip
The JP Crawford play is one of the most unbelievable things I’ve ever seen in any sporting competition ever
time stamp?
5:48
7:00 If I tried that throw they'd be pulling the ball out of the third base dugout.
It wasn't behind the back idk how you would get it into the third base dugout
@@ommy7672 ikr I was confused as well
Man, I love the energy Brandon Phillips brought. Hated seeing him leave Cincy
@puff daddy they definitely could’ve just done like 60% of this video of Brandon Phillips plays but he made them look too easy a lot of the time!
So did I and I'm a Cardinals fan
Needs more Andrelton! Also I love that they included the Rizzo play where it wasn't even an out.
Seriously, that double play he started by flipping the ball from his glove through his legs was one of the most outstanding things I've ever seen
It was an out. They discussed it and called it an out but the runner on first got to advance to second since he went into the stands.
Iglesias was always one of my favorite defensive infielders for years, but the man never developed even an average stick sadly.
His stick game was weakk
Chris Gratton agree it honestly was weak and still is.
@@jesusnavarro5113 wait... from 2013 -2020 he had a .282 with a .322 OBP, now that's not fantastic, but for a light hitting, great glove shortstop? I take that every day of the week
2:12 Ace of Diamond fans know
Bacon5674 my boi
Do you remember what episode was that? I want to watch it again. 🤣🤣
angelie rivera it was during the second game against Yakushi, forgot what episode tho
@@angelierivera9056 Second season eps 44
same condition, side arm pitch shortstop barehand and flip to second base then double play
5:48 I dont know how he made that throw. He was bent over backwards and still made a strong and accurate throw. There is a reason he is now a gold glover.
Wrong
2:12 what a great bit of commentary
I’m twisting my tongue if I attempt that especially live
I like how there is so much of Nolan
I’m not an avid follower of baseball in general but baseball highlights are top tier for sure!
The fact that there was only one play involving the greatness that was the Crawford - Panik duo is a travesty
Anti-SF Bias. Crawford owns three Gold Gloves and only one highlight of him relaying a double play.
Never get sick of that Crawford play. No idea how he made that throw.
1:12 I think he took his foot off the bag before catching the ball...
Yup if you pause at 0:58 or 1:07 its very clearly off the bag
@@R3adybreck I think there was no review yet on the year this happened, if I'm not mistaken.
But still
It doesn’t matter. There’s a rule called the “neighborhood rule” that allows this to still be a double play.
@@ezragatton5431 it got removed at some point, don’t know if it was still in effect at the time
5:16 ah the good old days when the tigers were in the playoffs how times have changed
Never forgot when detroit lost to baltimore
Bvnshee yeah that was a rough time
I love these plays. Really show you how high-level pro sports is.
"I am so very sorry if I have hurt anyone out there . . . Phillips! Double Play! You gotta be kiddin' me! . . . I consider myself a man of faith. I can not tell you how sorry I am to the people that sign my paychecks."
-Thom Brennan, alternate universe
Love that throw by Joey Votto! Just perfect
That 2nd one was some "Matrix" stuff! Slapping the ball to the 2nd baseman! 😲 😮😎
Missed one of the best royals plays in 2014 or 15 when Escobar ran like 100 feet with 99% route efficiency to make a catch in left field foul territory
Andrelton Simmons deserved more plays in this video. Arguably the greatest infielder the past decade or so, & he has one highlight in this smh.
Now these are some great plays I can watch for a day
6:53 coolest one
Alternate title: Andrelton Simmons Career Highlights
Literally have no clue how JD held onto those two catches, THANK YOU JOSH
The Camera people are the real MVPs!
Dat dude was my favorite dude to watch. I loved him
Crazy to see A’s players on here, seeing that they’re putting in all that effort for like 8 bucks an hour. Makes you appreciate them even more
8:11, arguably one of the greatest double play turns of mlb history
It was dope but they didn’t even get the double play.
@@ezragatton5431 Ya. He was out. You could clearly see it on replay.
call was overturned in the replay, game 7 of the world series doesnt get much better than that
8:14
Gotta give a whack ton of credit to these first basemen for some of these digs.
Thanks for using my suggestion!
That Paul DeJong snatch from the flip by the 2nd baseman was filthy
6:24 to 6:31, you can probably mute the video and still hear it in your mind...legendary!
Yessir
I will never forget that play or Gary Thornes call
asdrubal cabreras barehead scoop and behind the back flip.... **chef kiss** 2:12
That play by Cabrera was insane.
I knew arañado would be in here before I even clicked
Stuff like this is what makes baseball the best team sport in the country. I played baseball all the way through Pee-Wee to college and have played both men's baseball and softball ever since. At 63 I pay for it more the next morning, especially in my right shoulder and elbow, but I won't stop playing until I can no longer make the throw from third to first. People who find baseball boring have never played the sport and have no appreciation whatsoever for just how difficult the sport is to master. It is far more difficult to master than either football OR basketball.
MLB you gotta show some of these clips at least twice!!!
According to the new metric system developed by MLB Javier Baez is THE best infielder in MLB. Something for the cubs fans to be happy about this off-season. El Mago 🔥
Vivek Babbar what system, can you elaborate
@@noobgaytuns106 idk, something from statcast I think.

Hot-touch double plays are a thing of beauty and satisfaction.
5:48. Best play. Only slightly biased
2:16 cool to see even the white soxs appreciating that play against them from the dugout.
THIS Is The Present I Wished For to be under my Christmas Tree......I NEVER give Up On MLB......NEVER! See Everyone At The Ball Park In April 2020
Nolan arenado is a walking highlight reel
Javy Báez 2016-2017 was something else
Thumbnail is absolute 🔥
1:51 Javi’s play was called safe on replay
Need this to be longer with more replays
I’m glovin it
Before watching the video: Jose Iglesias' barehand flip in 2013 is the best play of the decade, period.
this also doubles as some of the best commentating of the decade i mean seriously it’s entertaining
8:20 You should have shown that the play was overturned and that was in fact a double play (Hosmer out at first) 1st overtuned play in WS history and it might have decided the final outcome of the game/serie.
AMO ESTE DEPORTE
Andrelton Simmons making amazing play? No way
Bro one Crawford, Panik play? I want what ever your smoking mlb
2:42 "And it doesn't get any better than that."
next play: oh but it does.
2:32 Kuramochi and Haruichi Double Play!
Really??? No Jimmy Rollins amazing diving catch to save the game in extra innings with a runner on third base???
'Pulling a Jeter'
... He knows.
This is all hyped plays,,wew
El mago 🔥
Nolan gonna go down as the 3rd bag defensive GOAT
You should make a video of the Astros scandal and punishments.
Wongs one of the best to do it
Highway Robbery that Phillips only has two plays on this list. He should at least have 5. One of the best defensive second baseman I have ever seen.
Definitely thought we’d see Machado more than once
Should have had that barehand grab by Brandon Phillips in the All-star game. 2013, I think.
Bruh where is Lindor?
Probably in Cleveland
Derek haha 😂
the Arrenado foul catch deserved about 5 replays. I just wish Tulo could have applied the tag for a double play
5:48 God I love that call lol
I miss baseball 😪
Alexi Amarista making history, how times have changed.
You forgot to add David Wrights barehand catch
7:49
The BEST play of the decade
without a doubt
That throw by jp and manny was masterclass
Did anybody notice that at 0:58, it wasn't a double play? He took his foot off the bag. 😳
Nothing from the 2019 platinum glove winner Matt Chapman
I was at the Brandon Philipps Milwaukee play
DeWong is the best duo
Please do a nastiest pitches of the decade.
Asdrubel Cabrera was a top 10 play every night that one year with the Indians
0:58 looks like his left foot was off the second base at the right moment that he grabbed the tossed ball! Anyway that was a beautiful play tho!
I watched it in slo-mo and that was definitely safe at 2B.
Sure do miss BP here in Cincy
@ 0:57 Second base was actually safe. He takes his foot off the bag before catching the ball and throwing.
Why does no one acknowledge how great of a combo Tulo and Lemahiou were
Slow down and pause at 0:58 foot off the bag when ball is caught
Nice!!!!!!
I gotta be honest. Made the cut’s version was better
1:40 that's a filthy throw 🙌🤮
Good decade👍
What about Kershaw’s behind the back catch???
“Joey Votto plays first base unlike any other first baseman in baseball”
*Paul Goldschmidt has entered the chat
How is there not more Brandon Crawford?!?
Have to credit the basemen for catching these insane throws.
Jose Iglesias those were the days
A N D R E L T O N
6:57 i honestly dont get why votto just flipped it, was it for show? cause im pretty sure he coulda just planted his feet and gunned him either way.
It wasn't a force-out situation so the shortstop had to apply the tag. If he were to throw it directly to the shortstop he'd have had to thrown it to the side of the runner (because if he hit the runner they would be save since they weren't deviating out of the basepath) making the tag harder to apply.
4:08 maybe a bit of excitement???
Kolten Wong is insane
