BBFC - Shaped By You (2019, UK)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 жов 2019
- The BBFC has rebranded for the first time since 2002, thus the ratings no longer bear their branding but are instead cute-ified, the Uc rating has been eradicated (which is an understandable decision in this age of Kids' UA-cam), and similar to the 15A rating given by the Irish Film Classification Office, the 15 rating is now pink! Get used to it! Here, these squishy new ratings are turned into a family by the charmers at Studio AKA, jumping into the multimedia universe in search of something a specific one of them can safely watch. Directed by Kristian Andrews at Studio AKA.

Real nostalgia vibes here
I really love these designs. Even though it's recieved mixed reviews, I think it'll work out.
First off, I actually REALLY like these new designs! They invoke the boldness and readability of the 1985 designs but are tweaked just enough to fit into contemporary design ideals without getting TOO wannabe-hip. And this animation's cute and invokes a lot more personality than I expected a BBFC revamp announcement to have. However, I'm...puzzled as to why they just refer to physical home media as "DVD" when most people likely can view HD stuff now and have technology (even if its just game consoles) that can play Blu-ray and DVD's going on 20+ years now...STILL, I dig this. Was never much of a fan of the 2002 designs anyway.
Designed by studio aka
I hate them
I don't like the new logos myself

Last year, the ratings were rebranded in 2019.
TBH, I LOVE the new designs!
Me too
Same
Agreed
Actually the BBFC rebranded in 2013, but they didn't tinker with the look of the symbols at the time. I actively hate these new symbols, they look like they were drawn by a particularly simple child.
I mean, everything is going simplier and simplier
I just imagine the “18” circle being the Dad, the “PG” triangle to be the Mom, an the other rating shapes to be their children.
I adore this. once when i was in the cinema i was watching a movie and this came on. And i got unbelievable angry when it stopped cuz i loved the characters.
The Uc rating was eradicated 10 years ago
EC in the US was eradicated 4 years ago TV-Y is still going
I do like the shaped by you with the rebrand of the symbols by the BBFC
Tbh these designs have kinda grown on me now, I still miss the 2002 designs though. These designs honestly would’ve been really much better if their colours were less garish and went with the original colour palette of their predecessors.
All the ratings in the cinema made a giant PG.
18 surrounded by PG’s
Rest in Peace, Uc

I don't understand that about new rebrand of the BBFC certificates like, U, PG, 12, 12A, 15 and 18, perhaps that new certificate symbols for the cinemas, dvds, games or blu-rays like the ratings from 2002. I saw advert, last night. Oh, BBFC, view what's right for you!
Nice advert with some drawing and designs for the family ratings!
Stephen Hickey The BBFC does like to redesign its age rating icons every so often, even if the ratings themselves remain the same

Fascinating! I like the new one better than the old one. I'm impressed. I even saw it when I was at the cinema with FLD watching "Johnny English: Strikes Again". xxx 💓💓💓💓💓💗💗💗💗💗
*ALL JOHNNY ENGLISH MOVIES ARE RATED PG! (and for that matter every movie that Rowan Atkinson was in or at least starred in.)*
@@NECHOII xxx 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
I like the new changes. Sorry, but that’s my opinion.
I yelled "You're a joke!" when I first saw this in the cinema.
Agreed, but for some reason, they used the old logo for Hocus Pocus, and it’s *cropped* to a 2:35.1 aspect ratio, aka *S C O P E,* just to clear things up, the top part of the card has 2002 BBFC logo is cut in feckin’ half!
when i saw the adams family it showed the 2002 PG logo
I agree, the BBFC are a Joke, they rated Toy Story and cars a PG but rated The Black Cauldron and the Incredibles a U. It should be the other way around!
Really cool
So maybe this is true, what we watch does Sharples and then all of us it may be has something inside it that’s to do with our power of word ratings of thing we watch readings are incredibly important to do what we want and what we watch. watch shapes in the video showing shapes. This is probably what I mean together.
Since it’s election season, I plan to suggest to my local representatives that BBFC ratings should be a requirement for broadcasts of pre-recorded TV shows! I’ve before now heard from a few PRIMARY school aged children that they watch EastEnders and Coronation Street, and I don’t think those 2 shows are suitable for pre-teens. If BBFC ratings were applied to broadcasts of pre-recorded shows (not just home video releases!), I think parents would be better informed on what they should let their kids watch.
YES!!! I AGREE!!! The BBFC SHOULD rate TV series on broadcast & cable TV! With extended BBFCInsight too!
ByChris Channel they do already rate TV shows on Netflix and home video (we have the Video Recordings Act 1984 to thank for the latter) but I think broadcasts of shows should also carry ratings. That’s the case in the US, Canada, Australia and The Netherlands, so why not here in the UK too?
They should have TV age ratings because you never know what content is in a TV show before it airs. Like when you are going to watch a new series with your parents and there’s a bunch of sex scenes.
Fuck you
@BC Genjin *BOTH ''CORONATION STREET AND ''EAST-ENDERS'' ARE RATED PG!*
I seen this in the cinema!
Honestly, I don’t mind the new logo. I much prefer the the 2002 logo, as it felt more modern and detailed.
The Untitled Random Junk Now a days when you think of modern, you think of something looking simple and sleek. That’s what Apple did with iOS 7’s UI.
Max Andrew, having a simple logo is outdated, I want a logo with tonnes of textures like the 2000s or the 90s.
*THAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH TODAY'S LOGOS~ FOR EXAMPLE: IF YOU LOOK UP CANADIAN LOGOS: AND COMPARE THE MODERN CBC LOGOS (which had the same design since the 1990's) AND COMPARE IT TO HOW IT LOOKED IN THE 1970'S AND 1980'S, YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY! (and immediately from their 1960's butterfly design.)*
duhoy the 15 rating is on their phones cuz teen love phone and teen hate book guh-huh
Phone is Streaming
Nah they are watching this 0:31
Urgh these designs are far too simple and ugly to be the new logos, I always preferred the old logos, they had a style and something unique, this looks like something designed by kids!.
:O
>:O
Sharon Hocutt Umm?...
I like your opinion
DanielTraviesot What?..
I am not enthusiastic about the redesign but I will admit that it is easier for audiences to understand without the unnecessary 1000 bbfc signs in the age logos

*SO WHAT DOES THE GOLDFISH REPRESENT, THE ''EXEMPT'' RATING?*
12A
*secretly the R18 rating*
*ARE YOU SOME FAR-LEFTEST DINGBAT OR SOME-SHIT?*
12A.
As a BBFC enthusiast myself, something about the new film ratings are neat but a bit weird. I prefer the 2000s ones. They look a little like the very old school ones from VHSs back in 1982 or 1983.
*1982 IS WHEN THESE RATINGS WERE FIRST INTRODUCED AS YOU SEE THEM IN THE BEGINNING OF SOME PRE-CERTS~ 1983 WAS THE FIRST ATTEMPT TO PUT RATINGS ON VIDEOTAPES IN THE UK: THEN CAME THE VIDEO-RECORDINGS-ACT OF 1984, AND BY 1985 YOU HAD OFFICIAL BBFC RATINGS ON VIDEOS!*
The animation reminds me of countryballs tho
PG along with other ratings chased by a green U like monster
So, That's Why Brightburn Is An 18 Now.
Brightburn was editedwhen it came out to reduce the gore in the movie with the glass in the woman’s eye and the uncles jaw hanging off his face to secure a 15. When it came out on 4K they released the unaltered version with the scenes intact and was rated 18.
I like how they mocked KILL BILL (18), JURASSIC PARK (PG), and THE FULL MONTY (15) during the little PIF here.
Don't forget Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
And Mary Poppins Returns
They changed their font from Bahnscrift to Akzindez Grotesk
The next Peter Rabbit DVD release BETTER be classified PG for mild threat!

@@NECHOII In the US we have an 18 + disclaimer which is commonly used for "p word". There are a few exceptions like with Redo of Healer or Interspecies Reviewers

It’s been 3 years and I haven’t gotten used to these designs.
But they're more colorful
18 films are becoming rare.
In the US the 18 equivalent (NC-17) already is
Most films are now 15 but the 18 rating is starting to grow back now
Seem to be asleep these days. Wake up!

Cute Ad, but I don't know how long it'll take Me to get used to the New Designs.
2022 Update: They've grown on Me now.
The 12 and 12A look similar to Pegi's 12 rating
Let's wait until there is a 15A rating...
Australia and Ireland have MA-15+ and 15a. We have our own in the US it's called R. There is a 18a in Canada. Redo of Healer was 18a yet the US rating was 18 +-DSV (basically R-18)
That will probably never happen I bet I would be dead and it would still not happen.

IDK WHY BUT OK
Is it legal for under 12's to watch rated 12 movies?
Not in the cinemas (as long as they have an adult)
@@cradica No. That's not by government law, just something many cinemas follow.
@@MrPillowStudios well your the one who asked? I was just saying kids under 12-years-old can go see a 12A with an adult.
Here in the US there are similar restrictions though they aren't enforced by law. For example under 17's can watch R with an adult though it's not legally enforced. and NC-17 you have to be 18 to watch though once again I don't think there's a law for this. I could be wrong. (the rest have no restrictions, G,PG,PG-13)
@@MrPillowStudios so why did you ask the question if you already knew the answer?
Being an American, none of this matters to me anyway though I suppose the MPAA could learn a thing or two.
