    I've been strugling for ages to try and get the Douglas Cockerell one formatted and with the correct page numbers etc in the indexes but just keep tying myself in knots. Obviously I'm nowhere near the level of mastery that you are Stopan 👍 If I look at the number of hours I spent trying to do it then the cost of buying it ready to go from you is a real bargain. Ordered the complete set so it looks like I may need to top up on the toner supplies.

      That's so great to hear, Dave! Thank you for the support. I did away with all of the prefixed page numbers and completely removed the initial table of contents. The new one is generated through the new headings for each chapter, so even if I edit something and the page number changes, I can just update it and it will refresh itself.
      Thank you again and all the best with your projects!

    I would be excited to print and bind all of your editions in the collection as one complete set, all matching binding. Would look terrific on a shelf. I’ll save up to purchase. Thanks!

      Thank you! Just to remind you to check the number of signatures for each edition. Some are shorter and are better suited to be combined with something else or made in a booklet type of construction.

    Another fantastic bit of binding. Your use of Lino printing for the book cloth has opened up a number of options for my own binding; thank you.

    Such an amazing video. Thank you. May I ask what the handle/knob is for on your alignment tool for punching holes in pages (@4:30). I’d like to make a tool like this.

    • @Stopan
      @Stopan  2 роки тому +1

      The handle pushes the upper part forwards. It is because the holes are positioned in equal distances and sometimes the signature size requires a slightly different arrangement than the one given. For example, the paper is too short to go to the last hole, so you push the upper part forward until the tool is centered.

    Awesome! I wanted those manuals in physical form, and the fact ill bind them myself is sweet, thanks for the effort mate! Have you ever worked with the software BookLet Creator for the same purpose?
    The only issue i encountered was that they use long grain printing paper in Greece, so they will be perpendicular to the fold-ill still bind them though (hope my teacher doesnt see this,he cant possibly snipe me here. ..or can he?)
    i asked if i could give them paper of my own to print on with proper grain direction, they were sceptical.. Hope its manageable for the next pdf i print!
    Question, for the a6 its 4 pages per paper side as you mentioned in the directions? 4x4? I went with a5 and got the usual 2x2 with big space for trimming. Thinking of going with the a6 next to save on printing money..!
    Bonus points for the baby coo's and the cameo!

    • @Stopan
      @Stopan  2 роки тому +1

      I think I've stumbled upon the booklet creator but don't remember what issues I had with it. Paper grain is indeed an issue most of the time. That's why I prefer the A6 because it folds the paper correctly to keep the grain vertical. I generally like the smaller size more.
      I've had custom books printed wrongly because the printing house wanted to save money and cut the paper the way they wanted. Frankly, I think a lot of printing houses don't know/care about paper grain at all.
