Born and raised in SF, and it so sad to see how much the city has declined. The glamour of big city is dead, and I never go downtown. Thank you for the tour!
oh what memories. the 80s, 90s, 2000s chillin on the tops of embarc in summer, and during this time of year restaurants booked up with office holiday parties. happy hours. so weid to see empty. thank you for these tours.
Even empty, looks beautiful.
I lived in SF 2004-2009 and I used to explore like you do. I miss it sometimes... Take us on a tour of Japan Town !
The Hyatt at the embarcadero. Use to have a circular restaurant at the top. Just before New Years my parents would take us to the top for dinner. A family tradition. The hotels Christmas lights were spectacular!
I used to walk here to eat lunch almost every day in 2000 when I worked on Spear and Howard.
Damn bro that was literally the walk I used to take on my lunch break - I used to get upset be there was sooooo many people everywhere I went and that was the only place I could go to have a bit of quiet time 👍🏽
I love the sounds of the birds on the balcony there. Early evening and so empty of humans its weird. Have a good nite, we love you
Born and raised in SF and can't believe how bad it is now. Moved to Portland last year, aint much better here either. The problem is rampant crime in all the major cities across the US and combined with the pandemic keeps people away.
Life is so different now. Companies will never place workers back in offices. Too costly.
I visited SF in 1979 and went to the Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Embarcadero, it was St Patrick’s Day and they were serving green cocktails.
So eerie, felt like walking through an old cod map!
Funny to think when I was roaming around those Embarcaderos 1 2 3 4 you were not even born yet!
Cannot thank you enough for these tours! Keep them coming! Cheers! 😊🏆
I lived here my whole life and I never been to the 2nd or third level of Embarcadero. Cool video 😎👍
Thanks for the tour Jermaine! Watching from Southern Humboldt, Redwoods and Cannabis!
So little traffic! How do these spaces make any money? (Hint: THEY DON'T!)
Those centers never were as busy as one might expect except for some very popular restaurants, maybe a nightclub or bar or two, and the theater. Maybe the place was more lively at lunch; I don't know. I suspect part of the reason might be the Union Square has been the retail center of San Francisco for years and years going pack to a time when Kearny Street was considered to be the center of downtown and few large office buildings or restaurants had been built past Sansom. People even came from Los Angeles and other areas equally distant to enjoy shopping at the exclusive department stores and fine clothing shops.
The Great Resignation. Very eery
Great video ! It was like this last time I was in SF March 2020 and lock down started that week. Earlier, many shops and offices had already closed. From Chinatown to the Hyatt, I had the whole streets and the Embarcadero to myself!
