- Deep Listening is a new series in which The Vinyl Factory spins monumental albums and songs, both contemporary and classic, in the Devon Turnbull Listening Room at The Vinyl Factory: Reverb Exhibition in 180 Studios.
A meditative listening room created by New York artist Devon Turnbull and programmed by The Vinyl Factory, the space allows visitors to listen to music on a handmade, high fidelity sound system.

this sounds great as i listen through my $30 computer speakers
lol
HaHa
10.99 and it sounds SHIT
Dumb overused comment
As I read this comment on my Etch a Sketch
Omg wow .. I can only imagine what it sounds like in person .. wow 🎉
I love everything about this: the gear, the music, the ambience, and probably the scent if I was there.
Weird haters
Beautifully constructed setup, thanks for documenting
Bullshit. Das sieht aus wie ein Bändchenhochtöner. Und der 30" Bass für 8000€ 😅😅😅
I like the inscense box, to design the air with suitable particles to enrich the experience creating spa, a temple,a feng shui sanctuary for the entire quantum bio organism
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary.
Those who do not understand, no explanation would suffice.
Dreamy gear, lovely room.
Merci Beaucoup!!! What beautiful space, system and concept. AND great choice of song!
Great Sound and Setup!! Cool Video!!
Devon's stuff is supremely beautiful. Seeing his systems was one of the primary reasons that I got into woodworking. Was happy to see one of his systems on my subscription feed this morning.
Awe inspiring system by the way.
One of my favorite songs for over 20 years!🙌🤘😢 You're the best!👌🎉❤ Radiohead forever!🙌🤘❤️
Awesome set up
I would definitely listen to some lo-fi tunes on this one
Dig the incense ritual that accompanies this session. One of may favorite thing to do while spinning records.
I’ve listened to Kid A through my AKG N5005 in-ears while practicing my archery many many times.
Sublime...❤️🔥
The more "you had to be there" ever
wonderful Sound. Thanks
Stunning song played on a system that although probably sounds divine in person, visually looks extremely depressing and is the sort of system I imagine O’Brien from Orwell’s 1984, using… “you are the dead”
Can you please release more songs, would be great to hear more how the system sounds.
Good concept :)
The turntable shots show it way past EIIRP LOL....cool vid tho 😀
Produced and Directed by Stanley Kubrick
Great over my bose system
Plot twist: When you're in that room for real, it sounds exactly as you heard it on UA-cam through your $15 desktop speakers 🙃
lol i guarantee that is does not. those are PA drivers. that center sub looks about 30" which means you are feeling the low frequencies through your body
@@hi-filuggage13 I know :) just having fun, I'm sure it sounds amazing to be there
OK< this is bad ass what you have going on here. 🥰🥰💙💙💙🎵🎶🎶🎶
I must show this to my wife. My system suddenly looks so unobtrusive by comparison. 😅
Great record and amazing system! What is the brand of the turntable and the other components?
your gear has brought sounds out of this song that the studio's mucrophones didn't even record.
This is not a ‘deep listening session’. This is a ‘making a video for UA-cam’ session.
Yea, that's where I saw that video.
FYI, the table and gear between the speakers and listener are not acoustically opaque.
Bontempi Love Organ
Never an audiophile video where you can hear Death Metal...
You should start your own death metal audiophile gang. 🤘😖🤘
Would love to be invited to a listening session
My phone never sounded so good!
0:20 is that an Eminence Beta 12CX coax? what is screwed into the back of it please. also an Eminence woofer below? I took a look at the build page you provided the link to, what great looking kit. behind that ginormous horn lens shown above, it looked like a vintage JBL compression driver but it could have just as easily been Altec yeah. for the current set-up shown, what is your preferred compression driver in to the horn lens? Great looking channel btw!
Big fan of Radiohead, although with that set up .. I think I would’ve played Idioteque… and others too.
Goodness! Play Dean Martin's version of Canadian Sunset please.
The ports look small on that bass enclosure.
Запах канифоли😊
no cable lifters?
В этой композиции узковат динамический диапазон - вокал и синтезатор, поэтому невозможно, хотя бы даже приблизительно, оценить качество звучания. Нужно что-нибудь живое, инструментальное с большим количеством инструментов.
But Justin, are we actually listening to that system? In that room? Not mic'd with a single iPhone I hope. Something stereo mixed down to mono or the reverse is happening. I want to love it, but the kids need more! How do we do more for the kids?
It must be the microphone because it sounds like mono. Kinda cool
Is this the bass driver from back to the future?
amazing analog to digital converters lol
Maybe try using two microphones? One on each side of the room. Pan one left and one right.
What was that humming?
Was genau sind das alles für Geräte. Lautsprecher, Verstärker, LP....
This might turn you into an audiophile.
What crossover points do these have?
I like this video - but i dont like all of this stupid comments here
Such a beautiful song and what a beautiful audio system...combined with the most faulty audio format. 😂
Amazing sound system, but all this just to listen to Radioread? Something is wrong, I suggest starting over!
I have this on original cds and it sound a bit better. It sound like to thom Yorke are singing on frontnof you
For some reason it feels wrong. Btw, your power supply is burning!
This video made me realize that maybe some people do have too much bloody money
How did you record the audio ?
date idea
it makes no sense to film this and throw it up on youtube - we can't appreciate the sound when youtube compresses the f*ck out of it - i like the visuals though.
That's the point right?
This debate has been going on for ages now. Yeah ofc we can only listen to this with yt compression and shit but thats not the point of the video. Its just showing of incredible setup with cool visuals.
What´s the point in this kind of videos? Why Mono?
Imagine playing Creed or some Nickelback with that setup. 🎶 🎵 🧠
sounds like recorded in mono
What’s all the buzzing on the soundtrack ? I think acoustical jazz would demonstrate the system better.
Why? Is this some sort of “wish you had analog” torture?
The best song! But probably the worst pressing of it. Standard Kid A reissue spread over 2 discs sounds much better
I'm curious. What exactly is this video supposed to demonstrate? And how?
This pressing is frustratingly terrible, such a shame cause I love the whole package and of course I love the music with whole my heart, but especially the quiet parts are ruined by distortion.
All this money spent and how much better does it really sound, especially compared to some high end headphones that aren't audiophile prices.
What a waste of such a gorgeous hi-fi system, playing it on a record. Uncompressed high bit depth, high sample rate PCM is by far the best representation of sound possible. Vinyl is very frequency restricted. If I created a set up like that, I’d want The purest most full range sound source to play through it. I bet it sounds amazing in the room anyway though. 👍
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is that weed ?
Honestly, who wants an industrial PA system in their living room?
Me for one
Some lovely deep green tropical wallpaper might help 🤔🪴
me
Hootie hoo
me!
Smoke next to vinyls is killing me... Smoke will damage them over time and the smell stays somewhat too. Not recommended.
Very bad music selection... system is wonderful
Kinda looks like fake speakers and gear. Reality is we can never know.
Ah yes, the well known room acoustic treatment of incense 🙄
Only a rank amateur would introduce scented smoke into the soundstage. It’s ruined. He might as well use a 1980’s Sony Walkman with a worn out cassette and broken headphones, those ones with the metal band and orange sponge on the ears.
I’m sorry but how does burning incense negatively affect the acoustics?
@@atticustay1 It's a joke about the total lack of room treatment, but attention given to burning incense
@@rarelycommentsI believe the walls are false walls with absorption behind - you can see the framing in the corners.
Tasteless design
I think I lost 100 IQ points watching this
I doubt it, IQ doesn’t go into minus.
Why?
@@mercurymachines4311lol
You lost them in the comments section
Peak hipster.
Wrong spot for the record player…
Where would you suggest?
Sounds dreadful .... yuk.
